hi I'm chef Laura ha chef and blogger,for guilt free foodie QT I'm here today,in Philadelphia Pennsylvania at Green's,Grove community incubator kitchen I'm,gonna show you how to make stasiu and,Brosius salad let's start so in this,bowl I have a can of crushed pineapple,and pineapple chunks that I've drained,not completely well but well enough that,there's not much liquid left in the bowl,so I just mixed them together put them,in the bowl to start now I have a packet,of jell-o sugar-free pistachio pudding,you probably could use any kind of,pudding you want and you can use regular,sugar pistachio pudding I just really,like the sugar free save the calories,there's enough sweetness and everything,else in here give this a nice stir,that's instant pudding mix so it doesn't,take a lot for it to start to really gel,up and with the juice in that pineapple,it won't take long at all,perfect oh this looks great makes me,think of st. Patrick's Day nice green,salad now we're gonna add to it about 1,cup of little mini marshmallows while,they run away on me let's grab all those,little guys great mix that together and,the marshmallows will start to soften up,and the liquid from the pineapple I'm,not putting great ok now we're gonna add,1 cup of Cool Whip,I'm gonna give our salad a little bit,more body and 2 tablespoons of crushed,coconut I'm using unsweetened you can,use sweetened if you want so it takes a,little bit of work to get this together,it's like regular you know instant,pudding when you add it to the milk you,kind of have to whisk it and work it,until you get that consistency that you,want and if you leave this in the fridge,it's really gonna gel it nice so just,keep mixing it but just to show you how,good it would look you know nice and,plated we're gonna take a nice spoon of,it put it in a clean white bowl garnish,it with some more Cool Whip,pistachios would be great a few more,little marshmallows let's get a,pineapple right on top wow that looks,great,and there you have it again,I'm chef Laura Han here in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania at Green's Grove farm and,that's how you make pistachio and,Burgess salad enjoy,you

thank you for joining in today I'm,making this pistachio salad with me,we're going to get started it doesn't,take very long to make it and all as as,we go I'll show you what you need so,let's get started so you just say some,cool will they didn't have the regular,Cool Whip so I just got the curva brand,and all you do you give it a this is a,16-ounce and I just use a spatula and I,just get it out I hope y'all ready,enjoying your day today,it's very pretty Sunday so I just get it,out,and then I add in one can I add in two,cans but I'm gonna add in first you,don't have to drain it or anything cuz,if you drain it it may make it dry so I,just open it up and add that in and this,is the pineapple chunks pop up will chop,you get two cans and then you will need,a bag of marshmallows and usually I get,a small bag but today I got a 15 ounce,can I use the whole bag,so then you'll need your scissors for,the whole bag then you'll need some I,usually get some pieces are you get the,chalk if you have to get the whole ones,I get days if you can put it in a,chopper and chop it up a little bit but,you always want to leave some extra for,the topping now you want to use it for,toppings so forth,after you make it whatever so yeah you,just port this in put this inside this,is trash and then you're gonna add in,your jello just touch y'all mix it's,gonna make it green open that up there,just gonna add in this is gonna give it,green it's going to make your pistachio,make it very you're gonna take your,spoon,get all your foot cream off,man they're just gonna start,that's about it is a really easy simple,thing if you're having to put something,together for our party first a,get-together Thanksgiving dinner or,Christmas dinner I always make this at,Christmas but sometimes I make it year,round because we have four things get,together up somebody invite you over for,going out and every time I make it is,all gone,and then after we do this I'll sprinkle,our toppings on it makes it fun it makes,a big a big dish if you get the 16 ounce,little cream if you want to make bigger,than just double everything ingredients,then what you do after you mix it okay,that you want to put in just let me get,my special again I just want to make,sure you get all that the Box makes,mixed in there real good,does it make some big service get mom,and then what you do is that way your,special you can get every little thing,so what you do is you take this let me,get a purse a just manner this is get a,courtesy,and then you just India like a parent,without soon,all day some more love videos,and then you put you put it in there or,hold it,except you this bachelor you usually get,every everything and then you just agent,might make this tip for you can make it,for your work dinners if you haven't,work i dinner for work i could get,together and then,that's one of those lot and then that's,why you leave I've extra some extra,pecans I use pecans and you just it,gives it that you got to make it look,free,and here you have your pistachio salad,you put it in the fridge for about 20,minutes it's ready to be served and then,you put your where you put your top on,it it's your top bone it and you're,ready to go to any kind of get-together,any kind of party it's really fast and,easy but you just put it in the fridge,for like 20 minutes it has to be,frigerator even when you get to the,party you need to frigerator until you,get ready to serve so yeah that's it,thanks for tuning in and we'll see you,later,don't forget to subscribe like and,thumbs up the video and you can comment,down below it what other videos you,would like for me to do see you then,peace

How To Make Pistachio Fruit Salad//A Very Merry Homesteady Christmas

hi everybody welcome to den's way,when i've got the clock chiming in the,background or playing music,it will end pretty soon here what i'm,going to do today,is make a favorite fruit salad,for the tomorrow a day farms,playlist that they've got going for a,very,merry home steady christmas if you,haven't checked it out,i'll put the link below go go check out,everybody that's involved,there are several other ladies,participating in this,uh playlist and for the first week we,did cookies or bars,last week we did um,what did we do a favorite side dish,and then this week it is a family,favorite okay and i had trouble deciding,what to make,whether or not to make a meat dish you,know family favorite what we're gonna,have for christmas,or which side dish to make type of thing,i settled on a fruit salad,this is a favorite of my family members,and i like it too,i believe that i got this recipe,from somebody that i used to work with,several years ago and it's i've seen it,in the,you know the recipe books listed as like,a waldorf salad,or a pistachio fruit salad i call it,pistachio fruit salad,because you do use the pistachio instant,pudding,so that's what i call it that's what i,know it is,that's what i'm claiming it is on my,video here,i've got the ingredients all set up here,ready to go there is,no baking no cooking involved in this,which sounds good to me all you do is,mix the ingredients together,stir it all up stick it in the,refrigerator preferably,overnight it is wonderful,chilled overnight and,you keep it in the refrigerator after,that too but it is wonderful,let me pull you around here and show you,the ingredients that i get into it,and how i mix it all together,all right so here we have i'll go,over these first ones this is i use,pecans,you can use pecans or walnuts and it,says like half a cup,this is a generous half a cup and these,were like,halves of pecans that i just kind of cut,up into chunks,actually i broke them apart okay but a,generous half a cup,of pecans you use,a 15 ounce can is what i have here of,very cherry fruit cocktail you can use,any other fruit that you want to if you,don't want fruit cocktail,it's fine you just choose about 15,ounces worth of it okay,that's going in with the juice,and then back here i have marshmallows,and it says to use about half of the bag,like what's this bag,mini marshmallows is what i've got here,and it's about a 10 ounce bag,and i used a generous half a cup from,there,not not quite half a bag okay i may,add more to it as i mix but we'll see,and then sweetened coconut flakes,about half a cup of that and it all,depends on how well you like the coconut,i usually add a little bit more to the,recipe because i love,coconut okay and then of course,one box of your jello pistachio,instant pudding you'll see how that wake,up you'll see how that flavors it up,and then for the cool whip you can,either get one large container of cool,whip,or two of the medium-sized containers of,cool whip and this,is now how many ounces is this,these little cans that i had are these,little containers i have here are eight,ounces,so i'll together i'm putting in two of,these containers so 16 ounces of cool,whip is going in,but anyway those are the ingredients let,me get started mixing,and all you do is just pour it into the,bowl so i have my mixing bowl here,i'm gonna throw in the marshmallows,first,and then the coconut,oh i may as well put the nuts in,and next i need to get a tool out here,let's see here i'll use this one,i'm going to put in the cool web next,okay,i bet that really sounded on the video,didn't it,ring-a-ling-wing okay,and then the next can our container the,next container of cool whip,will go in,okay and i'm going to pour,the pudding in,and then what you do is just mix it all,together,yeah i don't know if you can tell but,it's already starting to turn a light,green,this is a very nice fluffy,fruit salad recipe i haven't put in the,fruit yet,but i'm going to right now with the,juice,okay,and i've made this before with just um,mandarin orange segments because we'd,like those too,but my husband does like this very,cherry,fruit salad fruit cocktail so i tried,i decided to try making it with that,and actually i can already tell i'm,going to add some more marshmallows,we just we just like a lot of,marshmallows in it,and some more coconut so really you make,this,you have the basic ingredients and i'll,put those in the,um information on my video,but just tweak it make it your own,recipe add extra of whatever you want to,make it bigger or make it smaller this,is really quite a good,salad for just william and me,and i'm going to put some more coconut,in actually,there's another fruit salad that i've,seen made recently that looks very good,too,and of course the name of it just,it escaped me here but it looked like a,very very good fruit salad,i've never made that one of course this,is the only fruit salad i've ever made,family loves it and this is what i do,and i'm going to put a couple more,

hi guys okay today we're going to make,some pistachio pudding salad I've got us,some crushed pineapple I'm gonna pour in,our Bowl and I've got some pistachio,pudding I got the small boxes so I'm,going to put two in normally just one,day one then I've got whipped cream and,I've got marshmallows and I've got some,chopped pecans,all right I'm just gonna just kind of,get it mixed okay then we're gonna add,our Cool Whip a whole thing of it mix,this all together turn green,okay then I'm gonna add some,marshmallows and some pecans and these,are kind of just more how much you want,in yours,there isn't really a set how much,because I've seen people put Watson and,I've seen somewhere there's not a whole,time in so you just make it the way you,like it okay,and I'm done

Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen today. We are traveling back in time,with another retro recipe by popular demand,we are going to continue doing our retro jello recipes and we're gonna build that jello playlist and today we continue,With Watergate salad, I can't wait to share with you how this all comes together,What it entails is two 20 ounce cans of crushed pineapple you're not going to drain these,two for serving size boxes of instant pistachio pudding,one cup of chopped pecans,two cups of miniature marshmallows and one small tub,This one happens to be ten ounces. There may be another brand that you like,Maybe it's the small tub is 8 ounces. Either one is fine,Whipped dessert topping now,This is straight up an original kind of recipe that came right out of that era where jell-o pudding and jello,gelatin were super popular and,Everybody was using it. I'm gonna say,There wasn't a holiday celebration in my youth where it didn't have a jell-o salad of some sort,Straight-up jell-o pudding salad or marshmallow salad?,Or you know something that was full of fruit cocktail or even a jello mold,I might add so my mom was really into the jello mold thing. So that was always fun,But not when it didn't come out that was not fun at all. So the way that we start this,Watergate salad is we're gonna go ahead and put our crushed pineapple in the bowl,We're gonna add our instant pudding and we're gonna go ahead and give this a stir and it's going to be some funky color,I'm gonna tell you that right now. This is a very bright salad,Just give this a really good stir and make sure everything is stirred in there really well,And there are gonna be a little you're gonna see a couple of dark flecks in here. This is from the pineapple,You can't really avoid that so don't even try it's not her juice just extra fiber and I even bought the brand name pineapple,So there we are all mixed up with our pudding and our pineapple go ahead and toss in your chopped nuts,I've used pecans you can use pistachios. You can use walnuts. You can use almonds in here you use whatever you want,Make it your own you can see how this is already starting to set up toss in our marshmallows. That's all mixed up,we're going to take,Our dessert topping and we're just gonna fold it in,Just keep folding until you don't see any more of that dark green color,You want this to be a nice light green and you want the color to be even that way?,You know that you've incorporated everything properly,Okay, I'm gonna go put this in a serving dish and then we'll be back and I'm gonna give you a little bit of history,on Watergate salad,Well there you have it our Watergate salad is all ready to go to our potluck our picnic our barbeque or our family dinner and,Now I'm gonna serve you up a dish of it and I'm just gonna move this out of the way,What,Coconut you can sprinkle some on the top of it when you serve it along with some cherries if you like if that's your deal,But yeah, you can totally do that,There you have it a beautiful serving of Watergate salad,Why do you call that?,Funny you should ask,Good. Let me give you some information. That didn't sound fake it all did it I,Did go digging a little bit because I wondered why is this called Watergate salad and I can assure you this has absolutely,Nothing to do with the Watergate scandal and Richard Nixon absolutely nothing in in,1976 which I think I don't know. I don't know how old this recipe is, but in,1976,the Denver Post in their edition of empire magazine,I guess that's like a tabloid that would be inserted in the newspaper kind of like parade,published a recipe for Watergate salad now rumor has it that Watergate salad was a,Concoction that was thought up by a sous-chef at the Watergate Hotel, which was part of the Watergate scandal,But this is something that was said to have been served at brunch on most weekends and then Watergate salad took off in popularity,During and after the presidential scandal which shares the same name,However, the Denver Post article does not verify this,It is a rumor noting that most like most sources the origins of the our obscure the recipe,originally published by General Foods, which merged into Kraft,And is now known, you know, it's under the Kraft banner of companies,called for,Two of the products that we use today, which was the pistachio pudding and the whipped topping. Otherwise known as Cool Whip,According to Kraft there are several urban myths regarding the name change,But they cannot substantiate any of them and several competing explanations,Exist Kraft actually developed a recipe for something that they called pistachio pineapple delight in,1975 and that was the same year that pistachio pudding mix came out and,Kraft did not refer to this as Watergate salad until,consumers started requesting the recipe under this of it under that name and according to Kraft kitchens when the recipe for,Pistachio pineapple delight was sent out an unnamed Chicago food editor,Renamed it Water

Today on The Stay At Home Chef,I'm showing you how to make Grandma's Ambrosia Salad.,In Greek mythology, the food that the gods eat was called ambrosia.,This recipe dates back to the late 1800s and was popularized in the United States in the 1920s.,It uses exotic, tropical ingredients,,so they called it ambrosia salad because it's supposed to be the food of the gods.,Which fruits you use depends on personal taste preferences,,but pineapple is a staple, and you can use either canned or fresh,,same with mandarin oranges,,you can use canned or fresh.,Another popular addition is bananas,,maraschino cherries are always a popular option,,but I actually like to use strawberries instead.,Last but not least, shredded coconut is a must,,and you can shred your own fresh coconut, or you can use the unsweetened or sweetened coconut flakes. ,I'm going to go with fresh fruit today,,but if you use canned there's no judgement from me,,whatever is easiest for you. ,I'm going to start by dicing up my pineapple real quick,,you're looking for about 1 1/2 cups of either fresh or canned pineapple,,and if it's canned make sure that you drain it.,Then you'll want 1 - 1 1/2 cups of mandarin oranges,,then I'll slice in 2 bananas,,then I add in 1 whole pound of either sliced or diced strawberries,,you want to make sure they're bite sized pieces.,So how you cut your strawberries kind of depends on the size of your strawberries.,Mine were on the small end.,Or you can use 10 ounces of drained maraschino cherries.,Or really you could use both the cherries and the strawberries,,I'm just a strawberry person myself.,Next you'll want to juice a lemon, you'll need 1/4 cup of lemon juice,,pour this over the fruit,,this will add a little brightness of flavor, but also prevent oxidation,,which is what will turn your fruit brown.,Then I'm gonna add in 1 cup of shredded coconut flakes,,and give this a quick toss to kind of spread things out and cover all of that fruit with lemon juice.,Now miniature marshmallows were not a part of the original recipe,,but it has become an absolute staple.,And not just any miniature marshmallows.,You want the colored, fruit flavored ones,,and you'll need about 1 1/2 cups total.,Set that bowl aside for a second and grab another mixing bowl, ,and we're gonna whip some cream.,You'll need 1 cup of either heavy cream or whipping cream,,and then you can use a hand mixer to beat this until it reaches soft peaks. ,Add in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract along the way.,By soft peaks I mean that it kind of looks like it's whipped cream,,but if you pull it up it's not quite stiff there and the peaks will collapse upon themselves.,We're gonna keep on whipping this and start adding in 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.,Once you get all of that in there you'll also want to add in 2 teaspoons of corn starch gradually,,and this will help stabilize our whipped cream.,Keep on whipping this until you have stiff peaks where the whipped cream can hold its shape.,Last you'll add in 1/2 cup of either plain or vanilla yogurt,,you can use regular yogurt or greek yogurt,,and fold that in with your whipped cream.,All that's left to do is transfer this into our bowl with our fruit,,and fold this all in,,and you want to fold gently so you don't destroy your bananas.,And you just give it a stir until everything is evenly mixed in.,You can serve this right away,,but it is a little better if you let it chill in the fridge for about an hour before serving.,This should stay good in the fridge for somewhere between 48 -72 hours.,It kind of depends on the fruit that you used and when that might go bad,,as well as the whipped cream.,It will eventually deflate.,Thanks for watching.,You can find the full written recipe in the video description.,Be sure to subscribe, like, and follow, and check out the rest of my videos,,where you can find hundreds of restaurant quality recipes,you can easily make at home.,We'll see you later.

hi y'all I'm fixin make Watergate salad,which my mom always made when we were,growing up that's also sometimes called,green fluff but it's a really nice cool,sweet salad to go along with the with,the meal at Thanksgiving or any other,holiday so it's real simple you need two,packages of the jello four ounce serving,size jello pistachio flavor instant,pudding and pie filling 220 ounce cans,of crushed pineapple and juice and you,don't want to drain it you want to use,the juice and all two cups of the jet,puffed miniature marshmallows so I've,got 2 cups measured out here 1 cup of,chopped pecans and I've got 2 measured,out all ready to go and then 3 cups,which is an 8 ounce tub of the original,Cool Whip whipped topping and I also,saved some whole pecans out to decorate,the top and I'm gonna use a trifle dish,once I get it all this together so,anyway you're gonna mix the dry pudding,mix the pineapple the marshmallows and,the nuts all together and I like to get,the pineapple and the jello started,first just to get the jello moistened,before I mix in the nuts and the,marshmallows so now I'll pour in the 1,cup of chopped pecans and the two cups,of miniature marshmallows I mean it,comes together really fast and actually,I think I so yeah this year and they may,have it every year but they've got the,recipe on the box oh this is like for,half of what I make but they've got the,recipe pretty much on the box with the,pistachio putting the jello brand ok so,this is what it looks like before you,add the Cool Whip and then you're just,gonna gently fold in the Cool Whip,just till you can tell that everything's,evenly distributed once you don't see,the dark or green anymore you're getting,close just keep turning it up from the,bottom,gently see there was some right there,okay that's good now I'm gonna take a,trifle bowl and just spoon it in try not,to get it on the sides okay so I'm,making a mess,just don't want to get it on the side of,the bowl,now I'm going to take those pecans that,I set to the side I know it could just,go around and decorate the top,oops,and that's good enough and then I just,cover it with plastic put it in the,fridge I'll be ready to go tomorrow okay,I'll put the recipe down below thanks,for watching y'all have a Happy,Thanksgiving,bye

hello,welcome to my kitchen today i am making,a watercake salad now if you live,anywhere below the mason dixon line,there is no doubt that you know exactly,what a watergate salad is,but for those of you that might not,let me just tell you that this is a,delicious,pistachio pineapple fluffy concoction,that is absolutely delicious,it's served as a side dish much like a,fruit salad or a congealed salad would,but it also makes an excellent dessert,back in the 1970s,jello released their pistachio flavor,and this recipe was actually on the back,of the box,and it was during the watergate era so,somehow or another the name watergate,salad,stuck to this don't ask me why,nobody knows well this,is simple to make there's only five,ingredients,but these five ingredients are so,good i'm starting with a 20 ounce can,of crushed pineapple and,i'm going to drain this and reserve,the juice,i have had this almost my entire life i,can't say my entire life,because it wasn't created until the,1970s,but i can just close my eyes,and i am sitting at my grandmama's table,waiting to be past the watergate salad,if you go to any church function,any family gathering or potluck,you are sure to see a watergate salad,this pineapple smells so good,now i've got my bowl,and i think it's drained enough you,don't want the pineapple to be dry,but i do want to preserve just enough,liquid,to help this salad be nice and moist,and flavorful so there we go,and i'm adding a cup,of marshmallows just your miniature,marshmallows,and a cup of chopped nuts,go right in pecans are traditionally,used in this recipe,but slivered almonds because the,pistachio,pudding definitely has an almond flavor,our walnuts,work really well i'm just going to stir,this,up just a little bit kind of get it,mixed up,and i'm going back in,with a half of a cup,of my reserved liquid now that is almost,all of it but you never know when you,open up,a can of anything how much liquid is,going to be in there,now comes the star of the show,and that is this delicious pistachio,pudding,i'll have to show you some time of,pistachio cake,that is really popular here as well,this flavor really took off in the south,i have no idea why but i'm sure glad,that it did,and i'm stirring this up,just making sure that that couldn't gets,distributed all throughout,look at this pretty green color that,it's making,your kids will absolutely,love this i know we always did when we,were kids,we still do and i keep this in the,refrigerator,a lot for my husband he comes home for,lunch every day,and this even though it's a side dish,he likes to eat it just as a little,small dessert,after his lunch it's not real heavy it's,real cool,and refreshing perfect,for this time of the year,i've got this nice and mixed up,and last but not least i have got,cool whip,i love gold,yes i do,this is a small container of cool whip,and i'm just going to fold it in because,i want this to stay,light and fluffy and when you fold,something what you're going to do is,just,go around gently picking it up from the,bottom,and just folding it in through,the middle,um,this is so good,my grandmother always cooked a roast,when we had family gatherings that was a,must,definitely the most requested,and she would always have this,on the table with lots and lots of fresh,vegetables,and we always looked forward to it,now this,looks a little juicy,but what's going to happen this goes in,the refrigerator for at least,an hour before you serve it it's best if,you make it the day ahead,and let it sit in the refrigerator,overnight,but it's going to thicken up,not too thick but a little thicker than,it is,now i am going to put this,in my serving dish,whoever thought up this recipe,really knew what they were doing,i love this stuff,look at that,pretty and,it's traditionally garnished,with a few more of the chopped pecans,and that goes right on top,and one mushroom,cherry now,you might want to add a few more,cherries because when,i was a little girl i always,went for the cherries in a fruit salad i,didn't care,anything about the fruit in it just give,me the cherries,so there you go,now as you can see i have not,put all of it in my serving dish,i have just got to taste this,that is so good now it's delicious,but it's going to get even better as it,sits in the refrigerator,you are a blessing to me thank you so,much for watching if you like this video,let me know by pressing that like button,share it with your friends and,i am going to go put this in the,refrigerator,but i have a feeling that it might not,last,until tomorrow blessings to you,we'll see you next time bye,you
