LongHorn Steakhouse is a great restaurant to visit  as it has so many different options on the menu.  ,But, like any restaurant with a variety of  offerings, some dishes are a lot better than  ,others. While choosing can be overwhelming,  our list will help you make a worthy decision.,When you go to a steakhouse, there are a  lot of different options to choose from.  ,Should you go for a filet mignon or a ribeye?  But one thing you probably don't want to  ,order if you're looking for a meal that's  actually going to be tasty: a chicken dish.,That's why we would never suggest ordering  the Parmesan crusted chicken from LongHorn  ,Steakhouse. Though the chicken is described as  "fresh" and "juicy," to us it seemed dry and  ,lackluster. And when it comes to flavor? There  just wasn't any there. Even the addition of  ,crusted, crispy Parmesan couldn't make up  for the state of the chicken in this dish.,Think about it: You can always go  to a restaurant that specializes in  ,chicken if that's what you're looking  for. But when you're at a steakhouse,  ,you may be better off sticking to the stuff  that the place actually focuses on. But even if  ,you're looking for a chicken dish at LongHorn  specifically, this is not the one to go with.,Here's another meat menu item  that you should probably skip  ,over entirely the next time you find  yourself at LongHorn Steakhouse:  ,the cowboy pork chops. The thing is, cooking  pork chops well is not as simple as it may seem.,It takes a talented cook to ensure that the  pork is cooked enough that it's safe to eat,  ,but not so much that it becomes a dried-out,  joyless piece of rubber. Unfortunately, at  ,LongHorn you're going to have to worry about your  pork being overcooked when you order these chops.,The pork chops also taste like they  barely have any seasoning on them at all.  ,And they're a bit too dry, which makes just  chewing them a task you'll quickly grow tired of.  ,We do like that they use bone-in pork chops, as  that enhances the flavor and keeps them juicier  ,than they would be if they were boneless. But all  in all, these pork chops still get a no from us.,"No. No. No, no, no, no, no,  no, no, no, no, no, no, no.",Look, we don't like when people copy  others and then try to take the credit.  ,That's why we were annoyed right away at the  Texas Tonion. If that sounds slightly familiar,  ,but off, that's probably because  you're thinking of the Bloomin' Onion.,This dish was served at Outback Steakhouse  restaurants, and it's now become widely  ,popular. But LongHorn SteakHouse wants you to  know that they are not going to be one-upped,  ,which is why you'll now find  the Texas Tonion on their menu.,The Texas Tonion is basically a Bloomin'  Onion in that it's a fried onion that's  ,served with dipping sauce. But the Bloomin' Onion  ,is so popular because of the fact that  it looks like a blooming, fried flower.,The Texas Tonion doesn't look like that at all —  instead, it's just a bunch of fried onion pieces.  ,Sure, anything that's fried is going to  taste good, but the breading has no flavor,  ,and this dish isn't anything  special. And since it doesn't  ,even have the appeal of the appearance,  we definitely wouldn't order this again.,When you go out for steak, it's probably because  you want something that's kind of special.  ,You may not make steak for yourself at  home all the time, so it's an opportunity  ,to indulge and order something that you  probably don't eat on a regular basis.,That's why we wouldn't recommend ordering the chop  steak the next time you're at LongHorn SteakHouse.  ,Instead of coming out as a whole piece of meat,  this "steak" is actually made from ground meat.  ,So, yes, it's basically just a  hamburger patty. We will admit,  ,the herby sauce with mushrooms and onions that is  smothered over the chop steak is pretty delicious,  ,but it only serves to distract you from  the fact that the meat isn't that good.,If you're not really a steak person but still like  ,red meat — and you want something simple  — the chop steak may not be a bad idea.,There's nothing like a good salmon filet  for dinner. It's one of the healthier  ,protein options out there — and if it's  cooked right, it flakes flawlessly with  ,your fork and tastes absolutely amazing.  Unfortunately, you should know that you're  ,not going to be getting the best of the  best when you order the LongHorn salmon.,This is about as basic a salmon filet as you can  get — the signature bourbon marinade is sweet,  ,but doesn't really have any flavor besides  that. Whatever your opinion of the place, you have to admit that LongHorn Steakhouse does have,at least some good food options — if you know what to order.,But there are some items on the menu that you'll want to avoid completely, and here,are some we can't recommend.,Just because you're going to a steakhouse for dinner doesn't mean that you're required,to have an unhealthy meal.,In fact, if you're looking for something that's on the healthier side, there are plenty of,lighter menu items that you can order at LongHorn Steakhouse.,But while you may think that all the restaurant's soup options would fit into that category,,that's just not the case when it comes to the loaded potato soup.,Is the loaded potato soup delicious?,Sure it is.,But perhaps that's because it contains nearly a third of the total amount of fat you should,have in an entire day — and that's just for a small cup of the soup and not even a,whole bowl.,Do you really want to eat that much fat in what's basically just an appetizer?,Who doesn't love a good burger every now and then?,It's one of the most delicious foods on the planet, and you can usually expect a restaurant,burger to be quite the indulgent treat… and that's the LongHorn Steakhouse Big Sky,burger.,This burger is just over the top, and it feels way too heavy going down, because in addition,to half a pound of ground beef, the Big Sky burger also features a mountain of prime rib,and a shocking amount of Swiss cheese.,Add to that the crispy onion straws, which are fried, of course, which brings the burger,to a whopping 79 grams of fat, and you might soon be calling an ambulance instead of an,Uber.,While you won't be able to find the Blue Ridge wedge salad at every LongHorn Steakhouse location,,it's garnered plenty of attention.,But is it really worth it to go through all that trouble just to try it– or to even,order it from the restaurant?,We'd have to say no.,Like the loaded potato soup, it's definitely not the healthiest option on the LongHorn,Steakhouse menu.,Yes, you are eating some veggies, and that's great.,But when those veggies are doused in a creamy blue cheese sauce and come out with a mountain,of bacon resting upon the lettuce leaves, you know you're not getting something that's,very good for you.,The Blue Ridge wedge salad has a whopping 46 grams of fat, which is way too much for,a salad, in our opinion.,We're not going to tell you here which cut of meat you should order at a steakhouse.,Everyone likes something different when it comes to steak.,For a nice, tender meat without a ton of fat, you might want to go for a filet mignon, but,if you want something that melts in your mouth even more, a ribeye might be the way to go.,While we'll leave the cut up to you, we do have one suggestion for steak from any steakhouse,,not just LongHorn: Don't order it well done.,There are a few reasons for this.,First of all, if you're going to a steakhouse, you'll most likely pay a high price for your,meat, which means you probably want to truly enjoy the flavor of the cut you chose.,And nothing robs a steak of its flavor, texture and moisture like cooking it for too long.,Taste is not the only reason you should avoid a well-done steak.,There's also the possibility that the cook might not care that much about your food if,you do, as they may think you don't know much about steak anyway.,We suggest ordering medium-rare steak, but even if you don't like pink in your cooked,meat, just don't order a steak well-done.,Another LongHorn Steakhouse item menu that we'd have to pass on is the breaded chicken,tenders.,It's not that there's anything particularly wrong with these chicken tenders — they're,your standard breaded and somewhat flavorful pieces of chicken with sauce on the side.,That's okay if you're at a fast food spot that offers hot dogs, hamburgers, and the,like, but at a steakhouse?,We'd urge you to try something that's worth the price of a sit-down restaurant dinner,instead.,Plus, LongHorn's specialty is not chicken, so you shouldn't expect a chicken dish that's,usually a casual go-to to be incredible.,And then, there's the fact that you're passing up other unique menu items for simple chicken,tenders.,Plus, wouldn't you rather just have steak at a steakhouse?,If you're being dragged to LongHorn Steakhouse against your will, we'd suggest you opt for,a seafood option, or if you insist on chicken, the classic parmesan-crusted chicken might,be a more fun choice.,While the chicken tenders aren't bad per se, you could get a dish that's downright memorable,instead.,And isn't that why you're going out to eat anyway?,If you're looking for a healthier main dish option at LongHorn Steakhouse, then the LongHorn,Salmon may be the best choice for Okay.,Seasoned steakhouse wings.,We have a great ratio of the flat duties,and the big wing boys.,I'll put this one into the blue cheese.,Okay.,Gorgeous.,Beautiful.,One of my first eating competitions I ever did was wings.,And I like went like, like a lollipop and just destroyed it.,And that's what I really want to do to this.,The seasoning is subtle.,It's enough where you just keep wanting to eat more of them,to get more of the seasoning flavor.,But let me try,,I'm going to do also their house made Buffalo sauce.,I'm going to do a little drumstick guy.,The Buffalo kind of overpowers the chicken,,But, if you love Buffalo sauce,and you'd like it to be a little hot,,then obviously go with the Buffalo sauce.,But the ranch just like makes more sense to me.,Like this is kind of covering up the chicken.,And usually if like, if the chicken sucks, sure.,Douse it with Buffalo, go for it.,This is their strawberry salad. for,the first time on this channel now I,have bench Longhorns a few times,throughout my life but I've only ever,had like the burger I think and it was a,while ago so technically this is my,first time trying like the whole menu,okay well not the whole menu I got tons,of entrees tons of appetizers tons of,desserts but the menu is pretty big and,there's a lot of steaks couldn't afford,all those steaks let's be honest and,there's so many steaks in there so,pricey but I did get one steak it may or,may not be the cheapest steak on the,menu but it's fine I got tons of like,chicken and ribs and well hello again my friends,today we are going into longhorn,steakhouse to have ourselves an amazing,lunch so this longhorns is actually in,blairsville it is newly built,so we're going to see just how,delicious their food is compared to,other longhorns,so what is on the menu today,first you have to start out with that,delicious,freshly baked bread and,butter what is better than slicing,into that fresh warm bread,watching the steam emerge from that,slice,only to determine,that you need some butter so then you,want to,get a decent slab of butter and just,smear it all over that delicious bread,watching it melt that is my,favorite bite to begin a delicious,lunch,so then here comes the menu,whether you want an appetizer a lunch,combo plate,a delicious salad for your entree,or maybe some type of steak longhorns,has it all,i usually start out with an appetizer,whether it be a texas tuning,or a simple salad,but it's up to you whatever you're,looking for and don't forget those,delicious,desserts my suggestion,is the chocolate stampede,so here is the salad that i got with my,meal,it is just your basic salad with,the lettuce some cheese,croutons and your choice,of a salad dressing,this salad also had some little chunks,of tomato,which were actually pretty good,now for the appetizer i chose to get the,texas tunion the texas tuning comes with,a delicious,house-made sauce so it has kind of a,horseradish kick to it it almost tastes,like thousand island dressing with a,hint of horseradish,so definitely if you get it you have to,give it a try because it's actually,pretty,good but also you can try,ketchup or my personal favorite,that buttermilk ranch dressing,so which sauce would you choose if you,went ketchup,the texas tonion sauce or ranch,finally it is on to the entree,this is the renegade sirloin,it's always good to dip that bite in,some ranch dressing for a unique,flavor twist now on to my favorite,is the steakhouse mac and cheese which,is only here for a limited time,paired with that delicious flose fillet,let me tell you this is a perfect,combination if you are a steak and mac,and cheese lover,so this is my first time having a filet,mignon at longhorn steakhouse and i was,actually pretty surprised,the meat was really tender perfectly,cooked,medium well,and it chewed just like butter it was so,perfect,now to that mac and cheese just look,at this cheesy ooey gooeyness,which is just simply perfect,this mac and cheese is topped with a,breadcrumb cheese,mix which adds for a little bit of a,crunch,and as you're eating into it you get to,the bottom,and you find these delicious,bacon bits which add the perfect,flavor profile to that cheese,and bread crumb mixture definitely want,to try,let's not forget about dessert y'all,chocolate,stampede,you get two hearty scoops of vanilla,bean ice cream,two significantly portioned slices of,that,seven layer chocolate stampede,topped with cool whip and a chocolate,drizzle,this is always my go-to dessert anytime,i go to longhorns because there is,nothing that compares to it no matter,where you go,or the cake that you buy in the store,you will never be able to replicate this,has a chocolate ganache a chocolate,mousse,chocolate cake and it has this,interesting fudgy layer in there,it's just simply divine when you compare,it,to any other cake and the ice cream just,adds the perfect,touch to top it off,so just to go back through of that,delicious meal,you have your bread to start the meal,with,free of course an appetizer,which i chose the texas tuning which was,perfectly cooked,the house salad which is decently,portioned if you can handle it with a,meal by all means i suggest getting it,then you have the flows fillet with that,delicious steakhouse mac and cheese,definitely a must try the flow's filet,was,perfect soft and even later when i saved,some of it for home it was still,perfectly tender,or you can choose the renegade sirloin,which is more reasonably priced,but in my opinion it's not as tender,you have that amazing chocolate stampede,that just says you need to try bite,or if you're not a chocolate lover go,ahead and get a,caramel apple gold rush to take home,it's delicious as well,and there you have it if you are near,nearing longhorns be sure to stop by and,try one of those favorites,today
