8 Healthy Salad Dressings (REALLY QUICK)

i'm here at landers looking for the, ingredients for the video that you've,been requesting a lot so after getting, all these fresh ingredients we're gonna, head on to the kitchen studio,do,i understand that salads for a lot of,people can be very boring but salads can,be an actual meal and can be heavy and i,know in the philippines we're not really, used to having salads as a full-on meal, and it's usually considered a,quote-unquote appetizer i like to,consider salads in two categories you, have your soft salads and your hard, salads soft salads are things like, lettuce herbs, really light ingredients and then your, heart salads are things like you know, you can add roasted squash roasted, cauliflower roasted broccoli any, vegetable or protein that you can think,of can actually go in a salad the the, thing that really takes it up a level, and takes it up notch is the dressing, you're gonna use i get a lot of,questions about how to make good salad, dressing so we thought it'd be fun to,try to shoot as many dressings as we can,but we'll try to combine them in ways, that make sense and in ways that people, will, hopefully want to eat them so we're,going to start, really simply with just a basic lemon, and olive oil,mix which i absolutely love so all you, need is one fresh lemon, juice the whole lemon into a bowl, once you have that all you need to do is,emulsify that liquid so i'm going to go,very very slowly with one hand olive oil,and then just beating as i go to try to,keep everything combined, add in some salt and some pepper,in terms of texture it's really up to,you this on its own could be great for a,light salad right if you want to get it,a little thicker honestly all you need,to do,more olive oil and then just emulsify it,even further so you'll see that it got, slightly wider, slightly thicker, still perfect to use this is dressing, number one now you have this basic uh,lemon olive oil salt and pepper, combination, how do you change it how do you make it,a bit more interesting well,i'm going to show you this set so,all i'm going to do now is when you, think of a classic french unique hut you, think of,usually mustard and olive oil right,so i'm going to do that as our second, dressing so you have this whole bubble,of garlic that we just kind of smashed a,little bit, you're going to grab a bowl, and you're just going to run the garlic,on the side of the bowl so it'll give us,all the flavor without kind of like the, bits and pieces that go into your mouth,so now i have this bowl that's prepped, smell it smells like garlic so all you, want to do here is grab some good, quality mustard,i'm using like an old school my mustard, that has like these beautiful kind of,like you know mustard seeds and, everything in there maybe one tablespoon,of that i'm gonna slowly start adding, some extra virgin olive oil, incorporate that first, add a little bit more you want to do,this in a couple of steps,to always making sure that you're not, adding too much olive oil your texture,is kind of going to be like a softer, mayonnaise, nicely emulsified nice and together it's,exactly what you wanted, simple as that that is,number two,so now i have a lemon, and oil and i have a medium height, the best part about this is you can, actually now combine them,so i'm going to combine half of that, here, now you have some added lemon juice in,there as well as oil, gets a bit more liquid, there you have salad dressing number, three,i'm going to show you something now, that's really good for like things like, cucumbers tomatoes, and it's for people who like, you know a slightly more creamy dressing,we're going to be using some greek, yogurt,i'm going to take some really good, quality tahini about one tablespoon of,that including some of its oil,you add the juice of one half lemon, some pepper, tiny bit of salt, most important part here is to really, break down that tahini so really break,it down,a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, just to round it out, perfect you are the man,if you want another greek yogurt, variation, super simple again, got one bowl here, greek style yogurt it's important to use,the unsweetened type, some good quality real honey, some pepper, some salt, juice half lemon, whisk again,a little bit of olive oil,the olive oil just really helps get it,nice and thick, taste it,yummy,so now we're going to go ahead and make, one of my favorite and it's,kind of like a play or a variation on,the pesto so we're going to start by,crushing, two bulbs of garlic, really quickly chopping those, put that in the blender, and then we're gonna start filling that, blender with some herbs so,beautiful basil,to that we're going to add in some, parsley see parsley a lot of people, actually don't use the stalks honestly i,like to use a little bit of sauce, because there's so much flavor in there, you can always use stalks also if you, don't want to use them now if you want,to use them,to infuse oils or anything like that, they're absolutely fantastic for stocks,so never never throw away the stocks, then we're going to go ahead and

The Top 5 Most Popular Salad Dressing Recipes

The Top 5 Most Popular Salad Dressing Recipes

nobody eats a salad without a good salad, dressing, okay fine maybe there are a few of you,out there but most of us like a really, good salad dressing,i'm gonna show you five super popular, salad dressing recipes, that are homemade from scratch that you, will absolutely love, and they're so easy to make, there's been like a salad dressing, explosion,in the grocery store in the last 20 to,30 years if you would have went down, that salad dressing aisle a few decades, ago, you'd probably have five or six, selections now you've got,sun-dried tomato vinaigrette miso, vinaigrette ranch blue chee i mean, you name it it's all out there well, these five recipes that i'm going to,show you today, are super simple and very very popular, amongst pretty much every restaurant, you've ever eaten at these are one of,the samples or choices, that they're gonna offer you so we're,gonna start this one off, with a classic ranch dressing i,seriously grew up eating ranch dressing,so i absolutely love this and it's so,good homemade so in a medium to large, size bowl i've got some super, fatty mayonnaise i love dukes by the way,and homemade is even better, next we're gonna add in a bit of,buttermilk and help loosen it up and add, some nice vinegary and milky flavors, now i've got some granulated garlic, these are the granules not the powder i,like this better and the same with the, onion they are onion granules not onion, powder, now i'm going to do is add in some dry, dill, followed up with seasoning it with some, sea salt and some, fresh cracked black pepper go ahead and, grab a whisk and mix, everything until it is completely, combined,it should be sort of like a slightly, loose consistency, just like this you want to be able to,coat lettuce but you don't want it to,drip off nothing,is worse than a very loose ranch, dressing the point is to coat the, lettuces the greens or the vegetables, that you happen to dip,in there what i'm going to do is just, pour it in a nice little container like, this because well,it looks nice and that's what i'm going,to pour into my salads i guarantee, you did not think a ranch dressing was,so easy to make, few ingredients but oh my goodness, nothing like a whole, made ranch dressing forget that packet, forget that bottle at the grocery store, just like one of my old friends used to,say if paul newman even in light of all,the good work he does can make a salad, dressing,so can you you could do this from home, you got it,great for dipping veggies my friends, dang good probably lasts about two weeks,in the refrigerator, now we're gonna make one of my other, favorites a homemade blue cheese dress, this is absolutely one of my favorites, and again using duke's mayonnaise and no,this is not an endorsement i just love, them we're gonna add some to a medium, sized bowl, along with a little bit of sour cream, next thing we're gonna do is pour in,some buttermilk, again gonna add a nice tang to this now,i've got some, garlic granules just like in the ranch, dressing, next thing we're going to do is hit it,with a little bit of sugar just to help, sweeten it up just a tad, then i've got some sea salt some, fresh cracked black pepper and then what,i'm going to do to add a little bit more, flavor is hit it with some, worcestershire sauce and, some plain white distilled vinegar, that's pretty classic in a recipe like, this, now go ahead and grab your whisk and mix, everything until combined and it should,be a nice smooth consistency, just like the ranch a little bit loose, but thick enough to coat greens and, vegetables,i want to stop before we add this last, crucial ingredient and say this,it is going to be so beneficial if you,get a really good blue cheese,i'm a huge fan of maytag blue and i love, point reyes blue as well, when you're at the grocery store in the, cheese department a lot of times you can,ask them to sample or try,and they will give you some i'm not, saying you shouldn't buy a one or two, dollar,on sale crumbled blue cheese but if you, spend a little bit extra i promise you, that dressing,is going to be so much better now let's,finish it up so,i've got some really good maytag blue, cheese that i'm going to,scoop in there using a rubber spatula so,this part i'm not going to use a whisk, and really that's because i don't want,to break up the blue cheese so that the, blue cheese breaks down even more,i like those big crumbles they add a lot,of,flavor to this blue cheese dressing so,my advice is,don't whisk it and break it up fold it,in using a rubber spatula,or some sort of spoon and if you're,serving this like i,am i just decided to put in a mason jar, because it looks good and it'll hold, well with the top in the refrigerator,oh my gosh this is it's i can't even, talk,it's really it's just so good i'm,spooning this into my mouth after,i was making oh my gosh,i don't even know what i i can't even, talk it's so,good it's so easy to make it's like, nothing you saw you probably have most,of those ingredients,in your cupboard already i'm spooning it,into my mouth, like a crazy mate but it's so del

5 DIY SALAD DRESSING RECIPES | quick + easy

5 DIY SALAD DRESSING RECIPES | quick + easy

hey guys it's Danny and today I am,sharing five variations on a clean and, delicious basic vinaigrette salad, dressing so that you and I never have to,eat a boring salad again and because I,do not want to take the chance of you, watching this video and then forgetting, what you've learned I have also created, this handy dandy PDF that you can print, out and hang on your fridge so you never, have to be without a great salad, dressing again so if you stick around to,the end of the video I'll tell you how,to access that but in the meantime let's,chat about the variations we'll be,making today so I'm gonna be showing you,an Italian vinaigrette a sweet balsamic, vinaigrette my apple cider vinaigrette a,nutty sesame vinaigrette and then, finally a bright and fresh lemon, vinaigrette traditionally speaking a,vinaigrette is a three to one ratio so,it's three parts oil to one part vinegar,or acid but I like to make it with a 1,to 1 ratio,I find that one this makes for a lighter, dressing and two I love the light bright, tart flavor that comes with this, particular ratio so I want to encourage, you to give my ratio a try and then of,course you can always tweak it and, adjust it to get it exactly the way you, like it and I also think it's worth, mentioning that all of these salad, dressings can also double as a marinade, for grilled chicken or steak so a little,FYI for you so with no further ado let's,get started on our Italian vinaigrette, this is our family's go-to weeknight, staple salad dressing this is the, version that you will find on our dinner, table almost every night of the week, because I love serving a green salad, along with basically anything that we're,having for dinner and this is my,no-brainer go-to dressing so you want to,get yourself a small bowl or spouted cup, like I have here and into that bowl goes,1 clove of crushed garlic 1 teaspoon of,Dijon mustard 1/2 a teaspoon of Italian, seasoning which is great because it's,just a mix of some different herbs, including oregano marjoram thyme basil, rosemary and organic sage so if you guys, don't want to buy a ton of different, spices for your spice jar buying blends, like, can really see there I'll give that a,pinch of salt some black pepper and then,a quarter cup each of red wine vinegar, and extra-virgin olive oil, gently whisk that all together and it's,ready to go,this simple vinaigrette is really great,on any basic salad that you enjoy so,next up I have my balsamic vinaigrette,so again we are starting with 1 clove of,crushed garlic 1 teaspoon of honey a,pinch of salt a pinch of pepper and then,1/4 cup each balsamic vinegar and extra, virgin olive oil go ahead and whisk out,all together and you're gonna see that, this variation is very similar to the,Italian vinaigrette but the balsamic, vinegar with the honey makes for a,slightly sweeter flavor and I really, like to use this dressing if I'm serving,a salad with some grilled chicken or,some grilled salmon so next up is the, apple cider vinaigrette and I've,actually shared this recipe with you, guys once before when I shared our, autumn chopped salad so I'm gonna link,to that salad down in the description, box below but for the dressing what, you're gonna want to do is we're gonna, start with 1 clove of crushed garlic, then I've got 2 tablespoons of finely, diced onion 2 teaspoons of honey 1,teaspoon of Dijon mustard a pinch of,salt a pinch of black pepper and then,1/4 cup each of apple cider vinegar and, extra virgin olive oil go ahead and, whisk that all together and it's ready,to roll now just a little FYI guys, whenever you're working with apple cider, vinegar you always want to buy one that, has the mother and what that's gonna, look like is like some debris hanging, out at the bottom of the bottle like you,can see here that is a good thing and, that is what you want because what that, means is that the vinegar has been, fermented and that fermentation is going,to ensure that you've got lots of,probiotics in your vinegar and those, probiotics are going to help to support, your gut and your immunity so always, make sure that you look for a brand that, has the mother next on the docket we've,got a sesame vinaigrette and this one is,so good it's got this really mild nutty, flavor to it so guess what we are, starting with 1 clove of crushed and, garlic along with 1 teaspoon of honey, and then one tablespoon of low-sodium,soy sauce you could also do a tamari or,some coconut aminos here a pinch of salt, some black pepper and then a quarter cup, each rice wine vinegar and toasted, sesame oil whisk that all together and,yet again you've got another variation,of a clean and delicious basic, vinaigrette now personally I love this, dressing with a really crunchy salad, something that is packed with carrots, and cucumbers and red cabbage and maybe, some bell peppers I just find them more, crunch the better and if you were making,a salad with this dressing and you've,got some sesame seeds on hand that also, adds in lovely finishing touch and, finally I am showing you a lemon, vinaigre

5 Homemade Salad Dressings - DIY Salad Dressing Recipes - Quick + Easy + Healthy

5 Homemade Salad Dressings - DIY Salad Dressing Recipes - Quick + Easy + Healthy

today I want to share with you how to,make five homemade salad dressings, including a delicious ranch dressing and,a retro Green Goddess dressing,hi sweet friends I'm Mary and welcome to,Mary's Nest where I teach traditional, cooking skills for making nutrient-dense,foods like bone broth ferments sourdough, and more so if you enjoy learning about, those things consider subscribing to my,channel and don't forget to click on the, little notification bell below that'll,let you know every time I upload a new, video now when you get ready to make of,these salad dressings you can make them, right in your salad bowl if you want and, just whip it right up and then throw in,your lettuce but if you're not ready to,toss the salad immediately you can still, whip it up in your bowl and then you can, take your salad tongs and you can just, cross them like this put them into your, bowl and then put your lettuce on top so,your salad dressing will be down in the, bottom but all your lettuce will be,lifted up above it sitting on your salad, forks or your salad tongs waiting to be,tossed but not getting soggy from any, dressing if your about a half an hour or,so away from actually serving your salad, now if you're just making your salad, dressing in order to have it in your, refrigerator or pass it around the table,or whatever the case may be you can, really make it in any kind of jar that, you want and the vinaigrettes work real, well in any kind of salad dressing cruet, these you can find at your grocery store, they're often sold where the salad, dressing packets are sold which I don't,like to use because they sometimes have, artificial ingredients in them but, you'll often find these cruets sold in,that area as well but I bought this at a,local thrift shop and there's often many, there and they're usually under $1 so be,sure to keep your eyes open for that now,I also want to mention something about, shelf life of the salad dressings that,we're gonna make today your vinaigrettes, can last a good two weeks in the, refrigerator and your creamy dressings, your dairy based dressings can stay, fresh about one week in your, refrigerator and one more thing I want,to mention before we actually get, started making the, dressings which is very important is,that if you check the description below, there'll be a direct link to my website, where you can print out all of these, recipes so be sure to check that, description and this way you can just, sit back and relax and watch the video, and you don't need to be a worry about, taking notes, the first salad dressing I'm going to,show you how to make is a vinaigrette,I'm going to show you three different, varieties but I'm just counting them as,one since their recipes are very similar, now I'm gonna start with a French, vinaigrette and what you're going to,need is a teaspoon of Dijon mustard and,I've just gone ahead and put that right, into this jar because I'm gonna make the, vinaigrette in this jar, next you're gonna need a half a teaspoon,of salt and I'm just using a fine ground, sea salt and you're going to need a,quarter teaspoon of freshly ground black, pepper and we're going to go ahead and,put those right into our jar next you're,going to need two tablespoons of apple, cider vinegar and this is a raw apple, cider vinegar that I make homemade and,if you'd like to learn how to do that,I'll link to that in the I cards and in,the description below now I know you, might be saying Mary Mary apple cider, vinegar in a French vinaigrette that's,not right you should be using a wine, vinegar and you're 100% correct but as,you know I finely, chopped and now we'll just go ahead, and add in our chopped shallot and just, let that mix around to a little bit with, the vinegar and the salt and the mustard, and everything that's marinating lovely,in here marinating together now the, mustard is going to work to help, emulsify the dressing but as an extra, insurance policy what I like to do is to,start first just taking a little bit of,the olive oil and putting it into the, dressing and into the dressing in the, making so as you see what I have here, less than this teaspoon full I'm just, gonna go ahead and put that in and then,I'm gonna put a lid on here and give it,a good shake to help th
