hello and welcome to soul food cooking,today I'll be making slow cooker beans,you will need 1 20 ounce package of 15,bean soup mix 1 12 ounce package of,andouille sausage 1/2 pound of chicken,breasts 4 cups of chicken stock 2 cups,of water 1 cup of onion 2 cloves of,garlic 2 stalks of celery 1 teaspoon of,onion powder 1 teaspoon of garlic powder,1 and 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt and 1,teaspoon of black pepper slice the into,a sausage and chicken into small pieces,then set them aside,place the chicken in the slow cooker,then season with the onion powder garlic,powder salt and pepper now add your,sausage and dry beans add the celery,onion and garlic then pour in the water,and chicken stock,mix all the ingredients well then cover,and allow it to cook on high for four,hours after four hours turn off the heat,then it is ready to serve this is one of,my favorite went to recipes that's easy,to make and tastes great I really hope,you give it a try thanks for watching,and don't forget to subscribe to soul,food cooking,that's okay,you

here's how to make cheap soup in a crock,pot so ham beans is 3.49 at the grocery,store i got the cajun version which is,not too spicy it tastes real good so i,like the seasoning on that one you're,gonna need the juice of half a lemon,you're gonna need crushed tomatoes i'm,using,28 ounces but some people use half that,use the smaller can depends on how much,you love tomatoes two celeries one onion,one red pepper i'm putting jalapeno in,it for extra spice the equivalent of two,carrots all i have is baby carrots so,it'll do a little turmeric a little,pepper a little salt and then somebody's,eight ounces of farmer john uh raw,classic pork sausage and the sausages,are 2.49,so all this stuff combined,is less than 10 bucks so this is cheap,poor people soup if you serve it with,rice you even get more mileage out of it,so,you'll want to rinse the beans a few,times in water before you put them in,the pot um using a strainer and then a,bowl full of water like this is an easy,way to do it see it's dirty down there,so the vegetables look like this i think,a little too oniony but i didn't use the,whole onion that's about three quarters,of an onion and then i also added a,little garlic i forgot to mention,earlier for extra flavor,so all this goes in the pot with the,beans,to cook for seven hours,and i've chopped up the sausages into,little pieces and there's a lot of,grease these are pretty fatty so all of,that gets dumped into the pot,greasy,there we go that's where the secret,flavor comes from,note at this point i have not put the,tomatoes in there those go in at the end,and then i have not put any seasoning in,there either so all of that gets done at,the end also the lemon juice goes in at,the end,so now we add eight cups of water now,this at this point you'll be wishing you,had the big crock pot if yours is a,medium like this one so this barely fits,in here so i might have to short water,it but eight cups of water is what you,want then,mix it up real nice,throw a lid on it,then you're going to want to set it to,the highest setting,and then you wait seven hours,seven hours later it looks like legit,soup,at this point you want a season to taste,does not need a whole lot of salt like,there's,there's enough salt and whatever else we,did to this probably in the sausages but,so we're going to put some turmeric in,there,a little black pepper generic canadian,cajun seasonings,add the maters if they'll fit let's see,if they'll fit,tight fit up we're up to the brim with,tomatoes,and the ingredients call for half a,lemon whatever you reckon half a lemon,is,dump it in there,stir it up and you got dinner,that's it 10 soup,you

oh my goodness y'all this is a season,that everybody's coming in and visiting,with you and you know I've talked about,one-pot males that you needed to have,ready for all your guests and we've,talked about spaghetti sauce which I,showed you how to do that we've talked,about a big pot of chili which we have,done that and we've done other things,it's a one pot meal like chicken and,dumplings to me that's a one pot meal I,mean you know you got everything in it,you need but today we're going to do,something different and I've shown y'all,this before,um if you make some 15 bean soup,it makes a huge pot you could add all,the stuff you want to add to it this was,one of George's very favorite things if,we had 15 bean soup and um,cornbread I had a happy husband,and as a matter of fact I've talked to,heart doctors before when they said you,need to eat at least dry beans,uh was awake now I they told us that,George had heart problems and so I know,about the dry beans once a week and so,you know you change it around like this,time you could this is just uh plain old,15 bean soup and it's got your little,flavor packet in it but I always add,other stuff and I'm going to show you,how to do that but you could get uh this,kind,if y'all like the cable you could get,the Cajun bean soup and the difference,is the beans are the same,see they but the seasoning is different,the little packet in here is different,okay or you can have split tea one day,uh and this one's got let me see what,flavor it's got It's got the ham ham,flavor or if you had a ham Bowl you,could just put that in there too and,here's my favorite of all I love these,um these are navy beans,and these are great Northerners these,are great Northerners but navy beans,look just like them except they're,smaller and so,anyway today we're going to cook just a,regular 15 bean soup and here here's all,you do there's just nothing to it but it,does take a while to cook so when you,get up and you have your biscuits and,whatever in the morning you need to go,ahead and put your soup on so let me,push you back over here and show you,what I'm gonna do,I'm just going to open these up now a,lot of y'all wash your beans and that is,perfectly all right if you do I don't,now if you don't like the way I do it,you get over there with your calendar,and you wash your beans oh you want to,look how pretty that is,see that it's got all kinds in it,there used to be a craft that everybody,did with this,and it was a,they made a rooster and every feather,that came out of the rooster was a,different bean and it was beautiful that,was back in the I think that's like back,in the 50s or 60s they did this here's,your package,so there's your little your little,flavor packet,for your bean soup okay I'm gonna,sprinkle this in,and here's what I do with mine I put one,can off Tomatoes I like tomatoes in mine,and George did too you don't have to do,it but I like to do it so I'm gonna put,one can of diced tomatoes in there,you could put the kind it's got the,peppers in it if you wanted to I'm gonna,put one can of tomato sauce,and now I'm going to uh do the by,another part and then we're gonna,all right so here's what I do I turn my,Skillet on high and I'm and I'm gonna,put a pound of sausage and I put link,sausage in mine this is your heel top,link sausage and that's what I'm gonna,put in mine,and what I do is I cut them in circles,so see this is a one drop meal you've,got your sausage,or what is your bait you got your beans,which is high protein good for you and,I'm just going to cut these really,quickly in little circles like this,these are the baby links right here you,can get the big kind of if you want to,whatever y'all want whatever you like,darling whatever you like,but George and I love this and what I,usually do with this is um I usually,make a little pan of cornbread to go,with mine so we have for supper 15 bean,soup and cornbread and what else nothing,but a little something to drink and,that's it okay all right here we go I'm,gonna put these on,that,we're gonna fry them up I'm not gonna,fry them hard I just want to fry them a,little to get a little a little bit on,the outside of them now I always put an,onion in mine if you don't want to you,don't have to but I love the flavor of,the onion and I'm going to saute it and,uh with my,um,sausage,that's what I'm gonna do,I'm gonna do it,now these like I say it takes a while to,cook so what you want to do is bring,them to a bowl,then turn them down I'm gonna put water,all over that and as they're cooking,when they turn down and as they're,cooking they're going to absorb y'all,this is important they're going to,absorb the water that's in the bean okay,you are gonna have to put some more,water in it,because what we put in additionally will,not be enough,those dry beans just absorb that water,right up,okay let me cut us some little squares,here we're going to throw those in with,our sausages and we're going to saute,them,and then we're going to put them in o

hi i'm helen from helpers pennsylvania,cooking and today it's going to be a,make it easy Monday meaning I'm gonna do,a crock-pot recipe and this is one of,Mike's favorites this is ham and bean,soup now he likes us having bean soup,nice and simple that's what this one is,nice and simple few ingredients not hard,to put together at all crock-pot does,all the work some of the Hammond bean,soups I know of that other people do and,there's some really good ones have,mashed potatoes in it have tomatoes in,it tomato sauce,different people different regions make,it different ways but this is the way,that Mike likes it pretty simple so I'll,show you what goes into it I have some,dried great northern beans and I'm gonna,soak them overnight I'll show you how I,do that I have a couple ham hocks I have,some leftover ham that I'm gonna just,chunk and put in with it some onion some,very finely diced carrots and potatoes,and some ham bass if I need it,if I don't get enough flavor out of the,ham hocks which I doubt is gonna be the,case because we're good smoked ham hocks,I'll add some ham bass and this is the,better than bullion ham bass but more,than likely I probably won't need it,so the first thing I'm gonna do is soak,my beans overnight now you want to put,them I just put them in the crock pot,and I'll drain them off tomorrow but I,just want to show you you want to make,sure that your beans are well covered I,have about an inch of water on top of,them because as they soak they'll absorb,up that water as they rehydrate so I'm,going to let those go overnight so that,my soup can go on in the morning and,just kind of sit there and slow cook,with those ham hocks all day so it's the,next morning they've sat overnight just,soak you can see they're all clumped up,used up most of the water I'm going to,rinse these off so you get all that,extra starch and the water out and then,I'm going to return the beans to the,crock pot and then we're going to throw,in our ham hocks,now all I've done is put my beans back,and add in my chopped onion because I,want that to get in that broth and slow,cook and my ham hocks and made sure the,ham hocks are covered and then I'm going,to put my crock pot on high to get it,warmed up and then turn it back to slow,low and let that cook throughout the day,and let this all get tender and all that,marry in and the meat will be tender and,come off the ham hock bones we will not,add our vegetables until much further,along because we don't want our carrots,and potatoes to get mushy,she's aw look at that he's just coming,right off the bone so I'm going to,remove my ham hocks and then I'm gonna,cut up the meat and then I'm gonna add,the last of our ingredients in and I'm,adding just a couple more because you,just you got to have that flavor,and then my deboned meet I took off the,skin and got the bones out I'm going to,add a large diced potato and I had some,leftover ham so that's going in and some,thyme and some parsley and a little bit,of diced carrots and you can add celery,some people add oregano some people add,some liquid smoke I am gonna add a,little bit of ham base to give it a,little bit more depth and this is the,better than bouillon ham base and I'm,just going to stir that in get that,incorporated and one more ingredient,just a dash of this,to me that does the job of what the,smoke would do and like I said some,poppy a Dutch way they do add mashed,potatoes and the P a dutch version Mike,likes it better without mom I like with,mashed potatoes in though but everybody,does a little bit differently and this,is just down to a mine now I'm gonna,stir this all in cover it back up and,let it go for a couple more hours well I,think she's already the vegetables are,tender and look at all that good ham,goodness you know what comes next,I'll dust up and ready to go so here it,is,I just gave a close-up for it now the,moment of truth chunks of ham potato and,beans,pleasure,that's gonna be even better tomorrow,that's it's overnight that stuff is,gonna be outrageous it's really good and,put the smoked ham hocks no salt you,don't add any salt you don't need to,it's plenty and I've seen some recipes,even call for msg and stuff it's like I,can't even believe believe that that's,awful but this this is really good you,know this isn't my favorite soup but,this is really good and it wouldn't be,complete without some good crusty bread,because I like it with the broth,mmm talk about something good in the,cold weather to stick to your ribs this,is it so you saw how easy that was not,that many ingredients crock-pot did all,the work you just set it and forget it,and you cut a really wonderful warm,hearty bowl of soup so now you know what,to make during that next cold snap and,snowstorm cuts and when it's not over,yet,enjoy,you like what you saw like subscribe and,join me next time here in how this,Pennsylvania cooking

hi everyone it's Eileen today I'm going,to show you how I make my 15 bean soup,we love having this on a cold day and,that doesn't happen much in Florida so I,made it this day and I'm gonna show you,how I make it,you only need a couple of ingredients,that would be your 15 bean soon package,your kabaska sausage baby carrots a can,of Rotel half an onion and cilantro I,like to start off by placing my,seasoning packet in my crock pot my,water and my cilantro and setting it to,high while I do everything else that way,everything can start getting nice and,hot and ready for when I add my beans,and my sausage and my onions,foreign,I like to cut the sausage into four,pieces that way they're small enough,bite sizes and then I cut my onions,after that you're gonna start sauteing,or Browning your sausage once your,sausage is nice and brown then you're,gonna go ahead and add your onions to,that,thank you,you're going to go ahead and rinse your,beans and place them in your crock pot,and go ahead and add your onions and,your sausage to the crock pot stir,really well and make sure that your,crock pot is set for eight hours on high,and I say to make sure to get your crock,pot going on high and eight hours,because I have forgotten in the past to,turn mine on,foreign,Mark I go ahead and turn the crock pot,down to low I add my baby carrots and at,this point I go ahead and add oregano,garlic powder and complete seasonings I,like to put my carrots in now because if,you put them in early on while you're,cooking then they're going to be way too,mushy towards the end,foreign,then at the very end at your two hour,mark I go ahead and add the Rotel diced,tomatoes and about a tablespoon of lemon,juice I go ahead and stir it really well,and that's it you're done with your soup,and you can have it with any sides I,don't know if you'd like to have it with,like garlic bread or cornbread or even,corn casserole like we did,if you enjoyed this video and you like,quick and easy recipes please don't,forget to comment like And subscribe,thank you so much have a good one,foreign

hi everybody and welcome to Sutton's,days today we are going to do 15 bean,fiesta soup this is kind of like a whip,it up Wednesday without being up so,first we're going to take it out we're,gonna take some chicken broth about 32,ounces of it and we're gonna put that in,this is gonna be one of those yummy,hearty filling soups great for this,colder weather,I have a 20 hour 28 ounce can of Rotel I,got the kind with just the green chilies,diced tomatoes and green chilies right,they do have now with the habaneros if,you like a little more kick to it and,then I have tomato sauce one 15 ounce,can or in this case for me - 8 ounce,cans because that's what I have on the,shelf,you guys this is so simple so easy next,I have one medium to large onion white,onion that I diced up and then one,packet or two tablespoons if you're,doing that they do it yourself my recipe,in my recipe collection I'll put the,link down below to the Etsy store okay,so one packet or two tablespoons of,Fiesta ranch mix now take your spoon mix,that up and next we're gonna put in one,jar of our canned ground beef or venison,or chicken or pork okay,whatever meat you want put that in here,if you do not have home and ground beef,then just brown up a pound of ground,beef because I'm adding this to a soup,I'm not bothering to crisp it because it,just doesn't need it it's gonna be in a,soup so crisping it would be kind of,unnecessary because it's just gonna get,you know so I'd be in the soup okay but,it is fully cooked pulling it out of,here okay,mixing it all up we're gonna set the,crock pot on high for four hours or on,low for eight hours we'll be back okay,take a look at this oh good stuff let me,get a spoon so now we're going to give,it a good stir,oh yeah this is more like a like a chili,like this yeah like a chili doesn't it,look amazing okay so now we're gonna get,a little spoonful you can see all the,beans in there 15 bean soup is awesome,mm-hmm the taste is spot-on,I might actually see I'm rolling around,my tongue if you really really really,like Fiesta ranch mix I would probably,add two packets or four tablespoons,because it's just a hint in there I'm,gonna add another packet I am but crazy,good really really good has great flavor,a great texture you guys are gonna love,this okay so that is our 15 bean Fiesta,soup really good perfect for a cold,winter's day I hope that everyone,enjoyed it I know we're gonna go enjoy,it right now so remember if you like,what we do here please hit that like,subscribe and share check us out on,Instagram Facebook and Twitter,until the next time be safe
