hi this is Sandra I'm here again with,another recipe and this recipe is hard,to jazz up some kin yams yes the kids,that you buy the games that you buy in,the can I'm gonna have to show you how,to jazz them up and make them taste good,yes a lot of people don't know how to,jazz up those King games and it tastes,pretty terrible but I'm going to show,you how to make them fat tastes,fantastic this is Sandra after this,presentation I'm going to show you how,to dress up some canned yams,and thank you for coming to my channel,hi this is Sandra here's the finish,results of our sugary yams that's in a,can I was showing you how to do the yams,and super look and I can instead of,doing fresh now the green is I gave you,to do the herbs you could do it also,with sweet potatoes that's already that,you could peel and use the fresh ones,but this is for the ones who want to,learn how to do the yams it's in a can,and I gave you them I gave you the,indiscretion after this presentation you,will see the discussion on how to,prepare this great dish,so what I want you to know you can do,anything you put your mind to it these,gems are so delicious and so flavorful,when you do these yams on the stove like,I show you let them sit for about 10,minutes in the syrup so can get a good,flavor through the yams you can throw,all in little pieces because that's what,it come in a can and you don't want to,overcook your yams you just want to make,sure that a simmer,after the syrup is done you do the,simmering and then you let it sit on the,stove for about 10 to 15 minutes so the,flavor of the syrup could get into the,yams this is Sam I want to tell you half,of eating and thank you for coming to my,channel I'm going to show you how the,syrup look look at the syrup,that's what I'm talking about that is,the syrup and I put nutmeg,instead of cinnamon you can use cinnamon,or neck or whatever you want in your,yams allspice cloves whatever you decide,but these are the yams from the canned,and I just wanted a look,and old okay we're good and they taste,good too,there's a sound you until you have it,and thank you for coming to my channel,alright again to make another recipe and,what I was trying to tell you on this,recipe is how to do yams and a cane and,these games are sugary gold cut sweet,potatoes yams in syrup now they cause I,was I got myself a dollar 61 but they're,a little higher like maybe dollar ninety,or something like that but sitting you,can tell that there are soft,they're a real self so you cannot make,these like this you got to add,ingredients to this because they are so,soft so what you do is pour all the,liquid that you get all the liquid and,you pour it in your pinion it's like,that before nylon turn you so know how,much look what it is but that's what you,use and you use a stick of butter stick,of butter put that in there like that,and then you're gonna use a cup of sugar,and it also about 1/4 cup maybe 3/4 cups,of brown sugar put it in there like that,and then you're gonna use some liquid,well a light not a light corn syrup and,I'm also you gonna put back 1/4 cup,maybe 3/4 cups of corn syrup in there,just laying like that and then add some,vanilla you can add whatever you like in,your recipe I'm gonna put about 2,teaspoons full maybe 3 won't taste good,you can use that and then you're gonna,add lemon flavor okay we got new when,you so we're gonna wait more add the,lemon flavor,about a teaspoon of lemon place and,we're gonna let this simmer to a get,dipping and then we'll be right back and,let's see what the finished product like,before we add the potatoes all right,we're back alright we're back with the,yam syrup we let it cook down maybe,about a good 20 minutes I may be thirty,minutes but you see how thick the gravy,gravy y'all you see how thick the surp,become that's what you want your dessert,to be thick you can cook it down a,little bit more longer if you want a,little bit thicker now I forgot to tell,you to put any spice that you want in,there now I use nothing it nutmeg is,what I use it was all set for the,nonsense,yeah well it's nutmeg that I use you,could put cinnamon cloves whatever you,want in your yams you can now why is,boiling down like this we're gonna add,the potatoes and let them cook down and,when we add the potatoes we'll come back,and if you see the finish results but,you don't want to overcook them you just,want them to just simmer and him by,maybe five minutes and when the five,minutes is over the games already now I,used to add a little bit more vanilla,not vanilla but you can't live them over,now but I add a little bit more lemon,extract about us cuz I like that lemon,taste in my yams okay we will let this,cook down and we'll show you the,finished product when they when this,happens okay

okay right now I'm doing my my a,homemade taste updated version I have it,pinned to my actual video the one that's,called deer Canyon the homemade taste,and I'm just talking getting like a lot,of comments and everything about the,video all the agree all the ingredients,are pretty much the same except I think,I may have changed the cook time in the,temperature but I still use vanilla I,know someone asked me because I forgot,to add it to the pen of comments I used,like real butter,I still use cinnamon nutmeg definitely,and I used the same size of gams,I forgot me both sides I want to use one,can but you can check in my pen comments,so for right now I'm gonna just in again,just like the turkey I just put up,I'm only prepping it this is it for me,tonight,so I'm just going to do two sticks this,would make it easier for me morning or,later this morning I have just pop it in,the oven so 2 sticks of cold butter okay,again this is the updated Canyon recipe,that I've been using and then I do add,1/2 cup water by the way I do not use,the liquid that comes in the cans I,drain it and I like I said I make my own,as I told someone before I like my own,you know I for my own type of whatever,syrup or liquid of wherever you want to,call it I drain the liquid out of the,can,use them so the next thing I do is I do,one half cup of white sugar 1/2 cup of,brown sugar like pet,a half cup of brown sugar and then I do,one teaspoon of nutmeg always a teaspoon,I mean excuse me 1 teaspoon of cinnamon,1 teaspoon cinnamon now I always do a,1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg so again 1,teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg,one teaspoon of vanilla extract,and then I do an eighth teaspoon of,regular iodized salt so I would put it,in a 350 degree preheated oven for 45,minutes after 45 minutes I will uncover,the foil and I will let it bake for,another 45 minutes however you can,definitely check to see if it's the,consistency you want it but normally,that's the way I do it,45 minutes covered 45 minutes uncovered,in a preheated 350 degree oven have a,great night well morning now that's it,this is going to be my last upload of,the night and I think I'm gonna just put,everything into one big video you know,for tomorrow whatever so that you guys,can watch like even though lasagne I,think I just uploaded you know the,result but I'm gonna put like some type,of video together and hopefully you will,all enjoy it you know I'm trying to do,this while I have some time on my hands,so yeah that's it again my updated give,champions a homemade taste recipe this,is the exact recipe that I have in the,pen comments that says updated recipe,this is it,alright

hey y'all,it's timmy and chris with collard valley,cooks and today,we're going to use a big can of yams and,make a delicious,cobbler with it,oh good,hey y'all it's tammy guess what i saw on,sale this week at the grocery store,yams a big can of yams and they were,marked to like,70-something cents and they're not out,of date they don't go out of the date,until the 22nd,so we're going to have a yam,cobbler so we're going to start out with,a cup a cup of cup like mama always did,and usually when i make a peach cobbler,i use three quarter cup three quarter,cup three quarter cup,but because this is a very large can of,yams i'm going to go ahead and use the,cup a cup of cup,so we're going to start with,a cup of flour and i use self rising,so it'll you got to use self rising so,it'll puff up and be pretty,we're going to use a cup of sugar,so this cobblestone have a lot of sugar,in it,and we're going to use a cup of milk,well that looks good don't it all that,butter now we're going to use a cup,of milk so it's a cup of cup a cup and a,stick of butter 1 1,1 1 1. no it's one,one one and one,now if you can't make a cobbler with,that,i don't know about you i think the first,thing i'm gonna do is,i'm going to take a stick of butter,and i'm going to melt it in my casserole,dish,this is what we're going to cook this in,so i'm going to go ahead and put it in,the microwave,and melt the butter and come right back,this is my spice rack that i love so,much if you don't have it,everything on here you'll use i'm going,to grab the cinnamon,and i'm not going to use any nutmeg,unless daddy wants me too do you want me,to it don't matter to me what you're,used to,do you want to put it in there we'll,just do cinnamon today,okay,all right so have you some cinnamon,ready now we're going to dump,this in there uh potatoes,juice i don't know if i'm going to use,all this juice so i'm going to,scoop them out to begin with plus i'm,going to cut it in smaller pieces,because they're really big,and this one's just going to fall to,pieces so i can just,lay it down in here,just kind of break them apart like i,just did,and the smaller ones you don't have to,worry about,can you see down in there good daddy,now this is the best 70-something cents,i've spent a long time,that one's got a bad place on it i'm,gonna take it out,it wouldn't hurt us but,we'll do it for the sake of making sure,it's all real pretty,that one's got a dark place on it too,these are bruce's candied yams,go ahead and finish it off we'll just,have a good,cobbler with a lot of good stuff in it,oh ahead and do the whole thing,get you one of these big cans it is,40 ounces cut sweet potatoes in syrup,it's really sweet potatoes y'all,sweet potatoes means are different,things but,yums are most most of the time a lot of,use,in the other countries and they're white,and they're used for starch like we use,potatoes,i'm going to pour the juice in here,until i get to about the top,sweet potatoes now what we're going to,do is i'm going to add some brown sugar,because that really wasn't sweet enough,for my taste so add you about,at least a half cup of brown sugar to,them,just sprinkly good how's that,now we're going to put cinnamon,and if you don't like cinnamon you can,omit it,and now we're going to put this liquid,on top,we're going to get this in the oven at,350 degrees,until it's nice brown and bubbly it,takes a good,30 to 40 minutes to get,do,it's done and it's nice and toasty we,kept it in there for 40 minutes,looks yummy,that looks plum delicious don't it,good i must confess i have never made,a sweet potato pie a sweet potato,cobbler,or a sweet potato casserole with canned,sweet potatoes,today is a first for me but they were on,sale and they just were,calling my name so i'm about to see,was it worth the 70-something cents what,i do like about this brand of sweet,potato,is they're not all dark looking that's,one of my pet peeves,about the canned potatoes it's lots of,times they're real dark brownish looking,these are pretty and orange so i do like,that about them,already that's how they should look,and they're hot now when you make a,crust like this,and you use the liquid it makes a gooey,um filling and a crunchy,top so it's like the best of both worlds,you got the crunchy,biscuit type top and the gooey ooey,as well,all right let's take a bite,this would be my supper i don't want,anything,else this is so delicious,and so easy you've got to give it a try,go get a can of hams out of the pantry,thanks for watching collard valley cooks,where we cook,like mama did bye y'all love ya,you

hey y'all i'm getting ready to show,y'all how to do some,easy candy yams can yams okay,so what we have here is some bruce's,yams,um they're already in syrup so uh,they do have i guess a little bit of,sweetness to them so what we're gonna do,is we are gonna add it some things to,make it seem,more home style and it's very easy,so i have a 40 ounce,can here and i have a 20 ounce can here,that's just for,my family it's a family of four so it's,gonna be enough for us,so what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna pour,both cans into,this container here,oh good piece of paper,that looks like a lot of juice so what,i'm going to do is i'm going to pour,this juice out it just seems like too,much juice already so i'm just going to,pour some of this juice out,i i just poured all this juice out here,and then i'm going to add this can,yeah that looks good right there i,probably should have had 240 ounces,because my family,loves yam,so yeah yeah that point is a little like,it's gonna be enough for my,my family all right so what we need to,do,is what we're gonna do is we're gonna,add a half a stick of butter this is,unsalted butter salted butter,whatever whatever you like i'm just,going to add that,so i cut that up i'm just going to add,it,very easily just going to add that on,top,okay then we have three quarter cups,here of,brown sugar,okay and then,the last thing you need the last,ingredient let me wash my hands off,the last ingredient is the cinnamon,okay,all you're going to do is you're going,to sprinkle your cinnamon,on top,look at here look how easy this is,that's the only thing that you have to,do,and then what you do is you bake this in,the oven for 40 minutes,uncovered and that's it you want to add,marshmallows you can actually,add marshmallows my daughter she's six,years old she's specifically,asked me for marshmallows can she have,hands with marshmallows so i'm gonna,make sure i put marshmallows on there,for her,um so i'm gonna bake this for 40 minutes,uncovered i'm going to stir it up a,little bit,bake this for 40 minutes uncovered and,i'll be back to show you what it looks,like,okay alright,okay y'all so my yams are going off,right now so we're going to check them,oh it's been 40 minutes so we're going,to check the yams,candy yams and see what they are,working with look y'all the canyons are,so easy to make,i just i'm trying to see ooh just want,y'all to see,what they're looking like,so let me get my spoon and stir them up,a little bit,so they're not done yet i can tell,they're not done yet they just need a,little bit,more some of this,this uh this soup soup,some of this uh liquid nice stuff you,know what,they look done so i'm just gonna leave,them like they are,and then so today is wednesday today is,not on thanksgiving yet so what i'm,gonna do,i just pre-cooked them um what i'm gonna,do tomorrow,is i'm gonna put the um,marshmallows on there so tomorrow i'm,just to put the marshmallows on there,i'm going to put them back in the oven,let the,marshmallows melt down a little bit and,then they'll be all done y'all,so this is the yams,very easy took five minutes to prep and,then that was,it put the marshmallows on there if you,want marshmallows my daughter want,marshmallows that's the only,matter of fact that's the only reason i,cook yams normally i don't even cook yam,candy yams but,the only reason i cooked them was for,her and i'm gonna put um these,marshmallows on there for her tomorrow,and then it'll be all,done okay all right i hope you guys,enjoyed the video,um check out my,collard green video and my stuffing,dressing video alright take care,you

sweet potato casserole so to start I've,drained a 29 ounce can of cut sweet,potatoes that were in syrup but I went,ahead and drained the syrup and these,are going into the bowl,I also want to show you that there is a,sweet potato casserole on the back of,the the can of sweet potatoes here and,I'm going to pretty much utilize this,recipe but half it and I am going to,change some things but this is pretty,much the guide for what I'm using today,so I'm going to start by mashing these,I'm just going to give them a head start,when I use my electric mixer that'll,also uh further break them down but I'm,just going to roughly mash them in the,bowl here with the fork,now I'm going to add the rest of my,ingredients,you probably want to add just a half cup,of light brown sugar but I kind of ran,out so I had to just make up the,difference with regular white sugar but,a half cup of light brown sugar goes in,foreign,here I'm working with a quarter teaspoon,of ground cinnamon I'm going to add just,a little Shake extra of that half,teaspoon of fine salt,a teaspoon of vanilla extract,a quarter cup of whole milk or if you,have evaporated milk especially if,you're doing a lot of holiday baking you,might have a can of evaporated milk open,I'm going in with two tablespoons of,unsalted butter that I melted,one large egg going in,now I'm going to combine well,I'm just going to scrape the sides there,give that a mix,okay this is ready okay so now,I am going to create,a crumble four packed tablespoons of,light brown sugar,here I have three tablespoons of,softened butter,of all-purpose flour,another little pinch Shake of ground,cinnamon,and then I'm just going to mash the,butter and everything combine it well,and this is going to be a crumble,that goes on top,okay so now I have an this is a two,quart baking dish,it's actually to be exact 2.3 or an 8 by,8 square baking dish and I buttered it,with like a tablespoon of butter now I'm,going to add all of my,sweet potato mixture here,you could also make this amount in,around like eight inch pie dish or like,a deep dish,pie dish that also works,okay,so we have our layer of sweet potato so,now,I'm gonna crumble the the topping here,well this is one of the toppings so,here's what I like to do,um,my son has nut allergies and I know he's,going to want to try this today so I'm,skipping the crushed pecans or the,chopped pecans I would put into this,crumble,but you can definitely add a quarter cup,of chopped pecans to this,so you can hear my cat in the background,he's yelling,um,so what I like to do is add this crumble,and bake it with the sweet potato,casserole mixture,then after 30 minutes at 375 degrees,Fahrenheit I like to add mini,marshmallows on top and you get,like three different textures in this,casserole and it's really my favorite,part,okay,so I've added the crumble,and it's going in a preheated oven,uncovered at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for,30 minutes,then I'm going to remove it put mini,marshmallows on top and bake it until,the marshmallows are golden brown and,cooked on the top,okay so it has been,30 minutes of fake time at,375 degrees Fahrenheit okay so now,I'm going to take my mini marshmallows,and just put it right on top,oops lost one,and I'm just going to cover the top and,this is,where texturally you get,three different textures and I love it,and I'm just going to pile them all on,top of here,and it truly is just I don't know my,favorite thing,okay going back in the oven okay I'm,gonna turn that off,and this is done,super excited to try this,I mean look at that,nice,okay,here we go,oh it's hot,but you just want to bake this until the,marshmallows get kind of puffy,and a light toasting,ah so good and you can see it's bubbling,away in there,this recipe a try I hope you like it and,thanks for watching,foreign

we're,just going to make some simple candy,yams don't forget holiday is coming up,right everybody's gonna be using that,oven so listen if you're doing candy,yams in the oven that's the way I do,them also listen if I put them in the,oven that's taken away from whatever,else I need to do right if you got a,double oven yeah you're great if you,don't like I got a single one right here,listen this is going to really be at a,premium because I got to do ham turkey,and all of that right so listen I'm,gonna show you guys how to make candy,yams we're going to use this pot we're,gonna let it steam through that spout so,let's get it,now check it out folks look we're going,to go over these ingredients look it's,not a whole lot you guys can see I'll,just start right here we got butter we,got cinnamon nutmeg we got some salt,we got some ginger and this right here,is my favorite list because this makes,everybody kitchen just smell just right,this is that vanilla extract look we got,some sugar right here that's that white,granulated we got brown sugar over here,and then some of y'all are probably,asking me like hey what's up with your,oranges hey I'm gonna show you and then,we gotta add a star these are the yams,right now let's talk about this when we,say yams listen there are yams I don't,think nobody may not be like the I guess,the like just a century old question,right everybody want to know what's the,difference between sweet potatoes and,what's the difference between yams I had,to look it up myself and after looking,at the yam I figured out I might have,not never had the actual yam ever in my,life this is it sweet potato cut down,and these are what we call it candy yams,just trying to kick some real fat facts,you guys can just go on uh Google do a,search yourself and then you know go,ahead and just read about it okay so,look the first thing we're going to do,is we're going to get our yam look if,you see that a little bit darker now,look I went ahead and you know washed,them got them clean you know cleaned up,we are going to take the skin off right,so I have one here get yourself a bag,let's just do it like Grandma used to do,it look just go ahead go ahead and peel,them just like this I'm not going to,bore you guys everybody should know how,to do it and then if you really want to,get you know take it and keep it,authentic like granny you should do it,you can always get yourself a petty,knife or you know a small knife like,that and you can just go ahead and just,peel them that way but having one of,these is much safer safer a pillar you,know what I mean it's just much quicker,so let me get these done then I'll see,you on the next step,so look I like to start off by cutting,my just the edge of them just to get me,a flat surface right be careful because,once they start whichever way the blade,Cuts in there it'll kind of like go at,an angle so sometimes like let me hold,it this way so you guys can see see how,they do that you know I mean you just,got to like practice on cutting,something hard and making sure it go,down notice I use my two fingers like,this I try to like hold it like that,just as a guide and I take it it's not,serrated but I just try to bring it like,this and just bring it down I just take,these and just put them right here,right,now I'm gonna go ahead and continue,cutting these down and even when I get,down to the fat part you know what I,mean what I can do is once I got the big,chips I can cut them in half that's up,to you they still the same size or,they're gonna cook the same you know at,the same time they just wider but it's,up to you how you want it to visually,look,we all chipped up got them cut they all,different sizes I'm good with that now,first thing we're going to do is look I,put a little heat under here already,right what you want to do is you want to,go ahead and melt your butter you know,what I probably need to start telling,everybody in the very beginning don't,forget make sure your hands are clean,get yourself some gloves you know what I,mean that helps out listen it's the,holiday time when they come to cooking,we in the kitchen folks and you know,what I'm gonna go ahead and start just,adding things to it right because,that'll be melting you know throughout,let me go ahead and turn this fire up a,little bit I just start with like a,medium flame now I want to add you know,my brown sugar we all know brown sugar,should be done like this when you,measuring it then you kind of like pack,it just to make sure but but this is,okay that's a half a cup you know I mean,and this is about a little bit less than,half so that's equal to me as far as I'm,concerned that's three quarter cup,so now I'm going to start moving this,around making sure this gets to absorb,everything but really you want to get,this to melt,th

hey everybody welcome back today we're,going to be making some old school candy,yams honey yes the real country way the,wakanda yams did this video a while ago,but i don't think i put it on my um,youtube channel it's on instagram so the,holidays are approaching honey so,everybody know how to approach this,amazing southern recipe the real way,okay now the first thing we gonna do is,get our sweet potatoes i'm using large,sweet potatoes because i like to use uh,a nice fat sweet potato okay so make,sure you get you some good sweet potato,mix up too what we're going to do now is,we're going to take a paring knife be,very very careful y'all when you are,peeling sweet potatoes because they can,be tough to peel if you want to use a,potato peeler it's fine uh that's the,safest way if you want to be og like me,go ahead and just peel it with your hand,so you want to just take the peel off,take your time and do it because it'd be,a little rough honey trying to get that,peel up out there okay but don't hurt,yourself so i took the peel off and then,i gave them a nice rinse and then i,patted them dry with a paper towel and,i'm going to take my knife here by,christine i like her stuff over at,target but use a good sharp knife to cut,your sweet potatoes okay so i'm just,cutting them my grandma used to cut them,real real thin y'all but i don't know,how she did that miss honey because i,can't get them like that unless i use a,mandolin honey and i ain't got time so i,just cut them into like you know small,circles or whatever not too thin not too,thick but just a good amount a a desired,size circle you however you want to do,it is totally up to you now what we're,going to do is we're going to use a,medium sized pot i'm only using two,potatoes but this is going to serve,about six people so um two large,potatoes can feed about four to six,people but i take,depending on your family honey they like,to eat sweet potatoes and you need to,make a little bit bow chat okay so i,took a medium-sized pie here and i'm,adding two tablespoons of water that is,the only thing you need,no don't add no more water to this y'all,because sweet potatoes make a lot of,water and that's why a lot of people,can't get it right you cannot candied,anything without i mean when you had a,have a whole lot of water and do not,bake them you can't candy them the right,way if you bake them you got to do them,on the stove okay so we added the two,tablespoons of water just to prevent,them from sticking at the bottom once we,put the sugar in now i put the sweet,potatoes in there,as you saw me do but i only put half so,half put half your sweet potatoes in,there and then you're gonna add your,sugar your salt and your um brown sugar,your white sugar and your salt on top of,those potatoes we're gonna we're gonna,add the sugar and everything in layers,because we're not going to touch them,while they are cooking okay we're only,going to touch them one time so you're,going to layer them put half down then,your sugar and then your uh salt because,you need a little bit of salt and make,it soft to it okay sweet potatoes and,soup taste a little salt baby then,you're going to put half the,uh other potatoes down in the pot then,we're gonna put the other half of the,sugar and the salt and the vanilla and,the cinnamon all that on this half okay,as you're gonna see me do so half and,half okay and as you know all the,ingredients will be in the description,box below so just make sure you check,that out okay but we got to get this,right so i'm breaking this thing down,okay so now we're working with the other,half so now we have half the potatoes in,the pot,which gonna do honey you're going to,take that other half of your sugar and,your brown sugar use brown sugar honey,to make a stop to it okay gotta have,your brown sugar you're gonna put your,sugar on top and you're gonna put your,vanilla,on top and then you're gonna put your,cinnamon now be careful,with this cinnamon honey okay cause,y'all be acting like y'all be out there,making cinnamon roll we ain't doing that,we're gonna add a little bit of cinnamon,so i use about a tablespoon and a half,and then i use just a pinch of nutmeg,but you know the descript the,ingredients will be in the description,box y'all okay and now we're going to do,is we're going to cut them over medium,low heat okay medium low heat and then,i'm going to put my lid on half the pot,so you want to crack your lid this is,just going to allow the potatoes to kind,of steam through and still get nice and,candy do not put the lid on top what's up what's up what's up everybody,it is your girl rita and i am here to do,a video for you and you you,i hope today finds you in a good space,just mentally physically you're,health-wise you know i just hope this,video comes at a good time and if it,doesn't come to a good time i hope i can,say something today that will brighten,your day and just brighten you up your,spirits you know we're all going through,we're all trying to get through it with,that being said would you give me a,thumbs up for this video i think you're,gonna like this one i thought i had did,this on the channel but i haven't done,this but this is how i do my canned,sweet potatoes you guys i'm gonna be,doing some,canned sweet potatoes candy yams or,whatever you want to call them and i'm,going to show you how quick i do this i,even make them like this for the,holidays i'm just making a meatloaf you,guys i might do a video for them,meatloaf even though i have a couple of,them on there i might just do a,refresher um,but i'm gonna just do this as one of my,sides with some of my uh cabbage,uh which is also on the video on the,channel and i just thought i'd bring you,guys along because i thought i had this,on let's go,so right here you guys what i have is i,like to take my,sweet potatoes and i like to drain them,and get all of the,the juice out and i try to let them sit,out as long as i can to get as dry as,they as i can get them okay okay what,i'm going to be adding to these sweet,potatoes this is a,maybe a,40 ounce can one of the tall cans and,then i had one of the 15 ounce cans so,that's what this is to this you guys i'm,just going to be adding me a stick of,butter now as you do this you guys you,will see what you like and how you like,to do it um you know the taste you want,to get out of there i like mine to be,really sweet i like them to be candied,and so this is just how i do them okay,and i just take this whole stick of,butter and i just go in between here and,i'm gonna just be laying out some of,this butter,hither and yawn okay we're just gonna,put it on here ain't nothing hard about,this right,to this we're going to be adding um,some bud i mean not a butter some,sugar y'all so we're going to be using,some brown sugar okay,i like to use brown and white sugar,actually,and i'm trying to decide am i going to,do that and i probably will because i,like for it to candy now this is two,cups in total in this uh package so what,i'm going to do is i'm just going to,pour this right down here you want at,least a cup if you got anything over,two cups of sweet potatoes okay you want,at least a cup of brown sugar and i'm,gonna put a a cup,and then i'm going to add me some white,as well to that,all right,let's get that big old piece right there,and break it down some you want this to,i like mine to candy and some people,just like them to be sweet one thing,about canned sweet potatoes they will,break down more so um a good brand is,the sugary sams i think they have more,big pieces in there and they don't have,a lot of strings in them either and so,that's the brand that i buy most often,is the sugary sams they're the ones,that's in the yellow,can with the i think orange writing on,them or something like that and so i'll,just come back through this is not,something that you know you eat all the,time i think the last time i had sweet,potatoes it was about a year ago,so,we're gonna put that with a uh so we got,two cups probably,i don't think i did a cup of white um,but um so we got some brown sugar and we,got uh some white sugar brown sugar is,sufficient you don't have to do both now,i come back in here y'all with just me a,teaspoon or so,of some allspice okay you have to be,careful with this it has a,good um a strong taste so you have to,play with this on that okay i know how,much i like and how much it takes so i,would say a teaspoon of that if you're,going to use it then i'm going to give,me some mix same thing about a teaspoon,of that because nutmeg has its own,little personality as well so we don't,want to go wild with those now my,cinnamon i want to taste that cinnamon,so i use about two tablespoons or a,tablespoon per um,per cup of sweet potatoes because i want,to taste that cinnamon i love the way,cinnamon tastes in my sweet potatoes,okay and then i do a little cloves just,for personality just for bam and bada,bing bada bong i do about a teaspoon of,that okay so you see how we're just,making this turn into something that's,just not our regular old smegler right,so then i come in with about a teaspoon,or so,of me some um,of me some,vanilla,okay,i'm just gonna
