ever go to a potluck or place a,gathering of friends and family and,you're forced to what is it bring a dish,and hopefully everybody likes it and you,make a bean dip but nobody eats it i,hurts,buddha life such a beautiful thing,don't you dare you guys are drawing this,content don't forget to like this,content here also come about mine you,part of the notification I'm here to,help you guys make the best the most,easiest finger food potluck is a couple,potluck or a friend and family gathering,where they force you to bring something,the easiest recipe ever guys this will,ring at this will wait at wing win the,crowd over I promise you your dish will,be eaten first,I promise okay your dish will be eating,first just follow these recipes fall,these just follow this recipe alright,step by step don't blame spareribs cut,in half so if you guys can't get your,spirits cut in half just chop it down,okay so it's pretty much your spareribs,cut in half so you know that piece you,know sometimes I Costco you get like a,rib piece but then in the back of it you,get this weird piece that you guys don't,even know what to do with it cut it up,guys cut it up with the two nice and,beautiful chunks like this and all we're,gonna do guys chop it down so I'm just,gonna follow the bone and chop it down,okay nice simple easy or just ask your,butcher to half a spare lid or pretty,much here in Canada Costco they have it,nice and chopped up already,guys these shears guys legit best shears,ever so if you guys want one all that,will sing is I'll leave his link or his,Instagram at the bottom just holla at,him I write legit,that's three everything guys,and we're just gonna chop it down follow,the boat chop it down follow the bone,chop it down well not really following,the bone chop it down into tree yeah oh,yeah we're making honey garlic groups,legit you bring this to any party while,Thanksgiving in America is coming so,make this for you Thanksgiving or,Christmas coming up nice nice by side,pieces like I said I guarantee you I did,I promised you your dish or beats,anybody else's dish at the potluck no I,never been to a potluck until my friend,invited me to a potluck and I had to,figure out what it was or I had to,Google what it was and I came in with,this guy's I came blaring with this,something simple and easy right,everybody gets a piece nobody's left out,let's go tablespoon and a half of season,developer I got half a tablespoon ginger,powder 1/2 tbsp white pepper 1/2 tbsp,black pepper I see we've got some garlic,powder let's go,tables are not to use with 1/2,tablespoon get into guys mix this in,very well let it cool all that in get,this you don't want it to eighty here,and you just want a nice coating on it,lastly two cups don't believe this stuff,in you go back hey listen listen very,well nothing cool guys we're gonna let,this sit for about eight five minutes,best honey garlic sauce you guys ever,made 2 tbsp of butter going in we got,two tablespoon of garlic here once you,get it going 1 teaspoon of white pepper,1 teaspoon black pepper we got half a,tablespoon of ginger powder,tablespoon of garlic powder,okay once it smells nice,we got a table spoon half a cup of honey,half a cup of soy sauce now say they're,a couple soy sauce I got two tablespoon,of course hearts at 3 tablespoon of,water here going head and we'll just now,let this pick it up pick it up nicely,just thickens up nice like this it's,ready take it off the heat here it is,guys canola oil heating Adam max here I,got a lot of work here so max heat for,about 20 minutes after 20 minutes we're,gonna drop these little kiddies into the,pool guys I don't care if you can swim I,just have to get it cooking time for,this make sure your oil is hot guys,before you dump this in it won't work if,you all ain't hot click - hey friends welcome to meals maria today,we are making a potluck for pennies each,of these servings for each of the,recipes is less than a dollar these are,very inexpensive potluck ideas i know,sometimes you get invited you're like,what am i gonna make is this gonna cost,me a million dollars you might see,something on pinterest and say i want to,make that,and by the time you get done in the,store you've spent,20 30 50,and we don't want that so i have i have,scoured the internet for you and found,some amazing potluck recipes that are,sure to wow any crowd and they're very,inexpensive and and sometimes they're,actually going to be even more helpful,because they're things that hopefully,you have some of this stuff on hand and,it's going to save you a ton of money so,i'm excited to share them with you i'm,excited to give you some ideas for your,next potluck so that you can save money,and not spend a lot and still wow your,friends for this first recipe we're,gonna make a chili cornbread salad and,yes it is a cornbread salad that is so,delicious so different and everybody is,going to love it,i did not have any jiffy corn muffin mix,on hand but if you do you can just,follow the instructions on the package,and go ahead and make that up or you can,just buy cornbread at store if you don't,have a lot of time but jiffy cornbread,mix is so cheap coming in at 47 cents at,my local walmart so that would be my,choice however if you don't have any,it's even cheaper to use the ingredients,that you have on hand i'm using a,two-thirds a cup of all-purpose flour,with a half a cup of yellow cornmeal,three tablespoons of granulated sugar,one tablespoon of baking powder,half a teaspoon of salt and two,tablespoons of vegetable oil,oh yes and i forgot that the recipe for,the chili cornbread salad actually has,you add an eighth a teaspoon of ground,cumin an eighth,teaspoon of dried oregano and a pinch of,sage you do just want to add that in and,mix everything around before adding in,your oil and for your wet ingredients go,ahead and mix in one egg and one third a,cup of milk and then you just want to,mix everything together really well and,we're just gonna cook this like a,regular jiffy loaf you can do it in like,an eight by eight you could do it like a,pie pan you could do it in a cake pan,i'm using a nine by nine and mine ended,up being i guess kind of too big uh so i,couldn't like spread over the whole,thing but it doesn't matter because,we're going to make a salad of this so,we're going to crumble it up after so i,just wanted to make sure that everything,was cooked well and i really didn't care,about the shape of my cornbread,you want to cook this at 400 degrees for,about 15 to 20 minutes definitely check,it at that 15 minute mark until,everything is cooked very well and then,you can set that aside and let it cool,down,as with most salads you're going to want,to cut up some vegetables so you're,going to start with one green pepper and,it says it calls for like a cup of,chopped green pepper and that worked out,perfectly for me to cut up one green,pepper which is like 88 cents at walmart,then i'm using a couple stalks of green,onions and slicing those really well and,that's about you know half a package,maybe less at 44 cents so pretty cheap,and then,some diced tomatoes i'm using three,tomatoes and dicing those up and kind of,taking like the slimier,insides out of those to make sure that,the firmer parts are gonna stay for my,salad now i'm getting this whole thing,set up the night before i'm gonna serve,the cornbread salad i actually served it,for fourth of july so i'm gonna make my,sauce for it i want one cup of sour,cream and one cup of mayonnaise and it,worked out perfect because i just had,the container of sour cream and i was,going to travel with it and i just put a,cup of mayonnaise right in there and,then you also want to mix in one,envelope of ranch salad dressing mix so,we're actually using that ranch mix,again just like in the other video where,i was using ranch mix to make different,things i will make sure to put that,video in the description box down below,if you want to check out more ranch,recipes,now while there are quite a few,ingredients in this salad i find that a,lot of them i already have on hand which,is something i love about it i always,try and keep those jiffy you know,cornbread mixes on hand or in my case i,didn't actually have any this time which,was crazy and i was able to make my own,super easy with things that i already,had on hand same thing always have sour,cream always have mayonnaise and i have,that big jar of the ranch mix so i'm,pretty much ready to go so that's a,bunch of things that are already kind of,crossed off my list that i don't even,have to worry about buying just to make,this recipe,we're also going to use some canned,beans some canned corn again things that,i have in my closet as is so there,really isn't like a ton of things to buy,in total this recipe is going to make 15,servings it is

2 Easy , Good Potluck dishes!

so,do,okay you know we all have to do it,sometime in,our life probably two or three times a,year and that's go to a potluck,whether if it's church or family or just,some get together we all have to go at,some point,and we're always thinking we need,something fast to put together to get to,this potluck,and that's what this video is about,today you know sometimes,when you go to potluck you have time,that you can you know just really um,do something to really impress people by,making chicken and dumplings and maybe a,beautiful pie and a cake but that's,you just can't always do that so today,we're going to be making something,really easy and quick and really good,for these,potlucks so,what we're making today is a dorito,taco salad so i'm going to show y'all,what i've got here the ingredients i've,got,and we're going to start with the,lettuce,with this kind of salad taco salad you,just about need to use,iceberg lettuce because something like,your,your spring mix lettuce and stuff like,that they tend to get really soggy,because this,uh salad has a lot of dressing on it so,my choice is the iceberg lettuce for a,taco salad,so we got our lettuce and this is about,i don't know it's either a small head or,about a half of a medium head,and here i've got a pound of ground beef,that i browned up,and it's got a package of taco seasoning,in it,or if you make your own,we got our doritos crunched up here this,is a 10.5 bag i believe and i just kind,of mushed it up,this is a 15 ounce can of black beans,now you can use black beans you can use,um red kidney beans you can use pinot,beans,just whatever you'd like right here i've,got uh,i think this was about,eight ounces that i shredded up of,cheddar cheese i've got a 16 ounce,bottle,or if you make your own catalina,dressing,and here i've got,probably a half of a bell pepper i got a,small onion chopped up i've got a small,can of olives,and i've got just a few tomatoes cut up,so what we're going to do now is we're,just going to put this together,now when you're taking this to a potluck,there's one thing you don't want to do,and that's to mix your,doritos and your dressing up you want to,do that when you get there,because if you do it ahead of time it's,really going to get soggy on you,so that'll be the two things that you do,once you get there,is just throw your doritos in there and,put your dressing in there and kind of,mix it up and you're ready to go,and i guarantee you there won't be none,of this left,by the end of the potluck so let's get,started,i'm going to put all of my veggies in,here,my bell pepper my onion now if there's,anything in here that you don't like,you don't have to put it in there,put your favorite beans in there,i tend to like black beans but i also,like kidney beans in it too,i'm gonna put my taco meat in here,and this i cooled it you don't want it,you can put it in there,well really you don't want it in there,warm because it'll it'll make your,lettuce soggy,and if you want to you can leave this,out to get to the pot luck to,put it in but really and truly the,doritos and the dressings all that i,worry about,make sure your bowl is big enough,because you see how much,you got to get in there so you put your,doritos,and i'm not,i had my little salad thing and i don't,know what i've done with it,i'm gonna go ahead and start,stirring this up good and like i said,make sure your bowl was big enough for,all of this,because it kind of grows on you,i'm gonna try to put my cheese in here,this is this is just one of my favorite,salads right here,my sister-in-law makes this i can't,remember,if it's uh if it's our easter get,together or christmas i can't remember,but she always brings this,and i just love it,and there's never any of it left either,mr brown you think my ball's not big,enough,oh brother,so i'm going to toss this around,i think i might have to go get my big,bread bowl,so let me go get my other big bowl and,then we'll put the dressing in,okay i got me i told y'all to make sure,you got a big,big enough bowl and miss laurie didn't,have big enough bowl,and this one this is my big bread bowl,and it's barely big enough but,we're going to make it work you can see,that it makes quite a bit so all we like,is our catalina dressing,and we're just going to pour it around,there,and i'm going to use my spoon we're just,going to stir this up,smells really good down at mr brown i've,done tasted it without the dressing,this is old old man brown this is his,one of his favorite i love taco,he does he does he he'll eat the puyo,tacos i absolutely love tacos for,hillbilly,that didn't grow up on eating tacos,mainly until after this i married this,woman right here,that's when i started really eating,tacos and pizza,oh man but,i love this i love this kind of stuff so,all you want to do you just want to,stir it up and get it blended up good,and like i said that's,putting your dressing and your doritos,and mission is,to love the life I have while building a,life of my dreams I can't wait to find,out what dishes Kate and Mary will be,sharing because they've been talking,about this meatball thing and I don't,know I'm never that so I'm excited to,find out how they make it and what the,deal is on that and get the scoop from,both of them because I have a feeling,that they both make delicious things so,I'm excited to watch them as well and I,hope that you've either watched them or,will watch them as soon as you're done,with this video,okay so here's the deal I love getting,together with friends I feel like I roll,few but deep in terms of my friendships,and I have a few like a handful of,really good friends that are kind of,scattered far and wide but we try to get,together at least a couple of times a,year and when we do get together it's,definitely a frugal and budget-friendly,option to have a potluck where we all,get together at someone's house or in a,church basement or fellowship hall and,everyone brings a dish and we sort of,share the cost like that so I've,developed what I like to call my,introverts option so and it's definitely,an option so the dish that I have,developed is like I mentioned frugal,delicious can be really healthy and is,readily available able to be made with,ingredients that are readily available,from Aldi in the Dollar Tree and it's,good for introverts and here's why the,dish is an appetizer tray or charcuterie,board or true cheese plate or something,like,however you want to want to call it but,it's an appetizer and why I love doing,this is because as an introvert I love,spending time with people but it can be,really draining I don't know if you can,relate so usually when it's like a big,gathering what I'll try to do is give,myself the option to like bring,something,leave it say hello to everyone and then,kind of like make a peaceful exit so,I've done this a couple times and,there's sometimes two when I do want to,stay and I'll usually bring something a,little more hearty and like fulfil you,know like full filling but in this,option I gives you the option just kind,of bring something leave it and go which,I actually had to do at my last,gathering we had a friendsgiving in,November at a church in in a time year,me and I see these people a couple of,times a year and I wish I could have,stayed longer but I had somewhere else I,needed to go so I just I brought this I,set it down I said hello and then I had,to leave but I felt good about doing,that because I thought that it was a,really like hearty option that people as,soon as they were coming in could like,have something to eat right away and I,appreciate that as a guest and I hope,that they appreciated that even though I,couldn't be there in person so the last,tray I made for this friends gathering I,kind of planned ahead because I knew,there was a chance that I might not be,able to stay for the whole thing so I,was able to make trips to the Dollar,Tree and Aldi in advance to kind of plan,out what I was going to do the entire,process cost me less than ten dollars so,I thought that was pretty good so with a,little bit of planning you can certainly,recreate this for around ten dollars or,less here are some pictures of appetizer,trays made using ingredients from Aldi,and the Dollar Tree full disclosure here,these are not my pictures mine came out,similar but not as artistic so my first,stop was at the Dollar Tree I find this,is as always my go-to stop if I'm,looking to stay within budget and create,something fabulous so I usually start,out with one of their plastic trays the,fabulous part about this is that they,look nice they're cute they're it's a,dollar you can't go wrong they have tons,of different sizes and you can just pile,it high with lots of different,ingredients,and then you can just leave it and go,and this is my favorite part this one is,for deviled eggs and so that's an option,or an idea for you if you're looking for,things to make and bring they even have,like portable punch bowls here are some,rectangular trays here are this looks,like it could hold a salad bowl so,that's another really great option as,well,OOP that one is a basketball you don't,want to serve that for potlucks I also,love using foil bakeware from the Dollar,Tree and I try to keep some on hand that,way you can just make your dish everybody loves,queso and you know the problem with,what's happening it's not you it's the,recipe okay because food you know just,this isn't a magical device it's really,great but the recipe has to be good okay,so queso dip everybody knows that that,is some cheese we have right here,go right in hey some cream cheese this,is cream cheese some Tomatoes right,chopped jalapeno a little milk a little,paprika and then you just put this on,your insta pot this is amazing five,minutes,high-pressure done okay yep you ready,five minutes,right here and now if you want to double,it because a lot of people want to do,dump a big party or something like that,do you cook it for longer no that's a,like a wives tale same same five minutes,it's just the amount of stuff you have,in there so five minutes and you can,share it here this is beautiful people,love this and we made it healthy it's,not that healthy but you know so at,least you feel good what do you think to,see you so we have chips we have,radishes cucumbers so much okay so but,it's for a crowd it's delicious addicted,to it okay so you can use this as a dip,here that's what we're doing and you,core you're gonna use it in your next,dish too right I'm gonna I'm gonna make,another dish dish you would think with,the chili would be perfect Chili's,perfect okay I'm doing turkey chili I,love chili you can use dark meat white,meat but I like dark meat turkey chili,what I've done is I see it off the,turkey first on the sautee mode and then,we're just gonna dump and stir that's a,term we use everything here evening so,go go for it it's not a speed drill,everyone's gonna get together okay some,tomato paste all of it all of that right,we got some one of my favorites beer I,always have beer much because you're,gonna have beer with it you have two,beer in it got so excited we said beer,some chicken stock and some fire Rosa,tomatoes which are just tomatoes grilled,basically you cover that on high 20,minutes done only 20 minutes sign the,painting so yeah some people like say,ginger sometimes when you're cooking,here it says burn what does that mean,burn means you know what that means I,know what it means but it's the pot,telling you that you're gonna have a,problem so what you'd want to do is stop,hit the cancel take it out no really,exactly take out scrape off the bottom,and then put some more liquid it it,means it's not enough liquid that's the,problem so it warned you before it,actually happens now we have the turkey,chili right here take them so this is,the turkey chili 20 minutes it's,unbelievable we have crema and what's,great about turkey chili is you just put,out all the spreads right the crema the,chili all the all the garnishes and you,go at it so some people like cream you,don't have to put cream on everybody's,I'm going at it right now oh yeah,I'm gonna help start right here right,and now you like I know you love,meatballs okay so this is a three,meatballs I can this is beef veal and,sausage I love side because sausage has,all that great flavor anyways why not,use it right so this again it's just,jump I like garlic onions Parmesan,cheese lots of it an egg and cream and,then we're gonna mix mix mix it we've,done that for you and then we're gonna,take these and you want to put them in,this pot here okay we're gonna put a,little oil well hold that a little oil a,Browning V doesn't really matter in mm,oh okay no and then just put them in a,that's already hot no this is a,preheated right here we did saute,okay you take these and you've gonna,take them out and guess what you're,gonna leave the fact is all that fat is,love it's love and flavor that's where,it is I mean let's the days of low fat,stuff is crazy because that's where the,flavor is so hence what I tell my,waistline then you're gonna do it this,for how long,just a few four minutes until it Browns,you're not really cooking then why are,you doing serum that they look like then,you take them out chop rosemarie oh yeah,put these in you put these in eight,minutes and you had a magnificent,meatballs when you do use it a lot I've,heard from people who are good at it,that there's a silicone band dirty i'm gonna whip up sour cream noodle bake,it's an old-fashioned recipe it's real,meaty and cheesy and my husband and kids,love it now i've got two and a half,pounds of ground beef that's all brown,now normally i would drain off all the,fat after this but there's hardly any,fat to drain so that's convenient for me,now into the beef i'll add two cans of,just regular tomato sauce,then i'll add a cup of sour,cream,some salt and pepper,and then part of what makes this so,delicious i add a good amount of green,onions the green onions just add a,really nice tang a really deep flavor,and because the noodles are hot it sort,of melts the creamy mixture,all right the creamy mixture is totally,coating the noodles so now it's just,about assembling it,i'll start with a quarter of the noodles,i'm doubling the regular recipe so i,have to keep track of the amounts i have,just throw about a quarter in there that,looks good,and i'll smooth them out,and then i'll just ladle a quarter of,the sauce over the noodles,the original sour cream noodle bake,recipe calls for just combining all the,sauce and all the noodles together but i,really like layering it because it keeps,the elements separate and then every,bite you get you get a little bit of,cheese a little bit of creaminess it's,really nice,and then i'll top this layer with some,grated sharp cheddar cheese and i grated,this myself i like the consistency of,cheese you grate yourself rather than,the pre-graded stuff,okay now on to the next layer,now i'll top the final layer with more,cheese,okay now these are all assembled i'm,just going to let them cool and pop them,in the freezer and then they'll be ready,to throw in the oven whenever we want,them,the guys are having a big morning of,working cattle over on tim's ranch today,and i'm making them a rib sticking,ranch-style lunch they are gonna be,hungry when they're finished,to go with the ribs i'm making twice,baked potato casserole it's pretty much,everything that's wonderful about twice,baked potatoes but in casserole form now,of course twice baked potatoes in any,form have to have bacon so i fried up a,bunch,and i just need to chop it up,you know you can use potatoes,so i've got four sticks of softened,butter i want it to be really really,soft then when the warm potato mixture,goes in it melts really quickly,okay and four,and a whole container of sour cream,everyone likes sour cream with potatoes,let's face it,okay now for the potatoes i've got 16,big baking potatoes and i rubbed them in,a little bit of vegetable oil and then,baked them at 400 for about an hour,they're nice and tender very hot,so i'll just cut it in half,oh nice and hot,and i'll use a little towel so it won't,be too hot in my hands,and i like to use just a big tablespoon,to slowly scrape the insides out,okay that's the last potato scooped and,i've got nice little flecks of potato,skin all throughout so now i'll season,all of this it's a lot of potato so it,needs a good amount of salt,and of course plenty of black pepper and,then i also like to add some seasoned,salt it just adds a few different,flavors a little bit of extra saltiness,all right that looks great now i'll,throw in all of this delicious bacon,okay now the green onions go in,i also grated a lot of cheese a couple,of cups of cheddar jack,and i'll sprinkle that over the top,and then i definitely need some milk in,here so that everything will mix,together well so i'll just pour in a,couple of cups of milk,all right,now i just need to break out my mussels,i've got a potato masher and i'll just,go right in,and smush all this together,this takes a little while there are a,lot of ingredients in here the potatoes,don't have to be completely smooth but i,don't want there to be any huge so if the big game is coming up and you,didn't plan ahead you're probably due,for a mediocre spread so let me give you,a hand with that,okay so today we are making the most,ideal super bowl spread in my mind as,quickly as possible i understand that a,lot of the time it doesn't really make a,lot of sense to pre-prep a ton of,ingredients and a ton of different,recipes just for one super bowl party so,i thought you know there should be a,version making this quickly but it's,still actually good with homemade,ingredients none of the store-bought,stuff where you're going to the store,and getting these huge platters of,cheese that have all been sliced and,sitting there for 14 days disco so we're,gonna put three hours on the clock and,see if we can make this entire thing in,that amount of time so let's make this,shall we we can easily do this in three,hours then i'll be your shepherd so keep,it clean orderly and move like you're in,a restaurant if you will garlic nuts,unbelievable wings chips with guac,homemade queso shabbata sando bites and,a luxurious cheese board so with that,let's get our time check set the clock,and begin one of our biggest bottlenecks,is the time that it takes to rise our,garlic knots so there's no question we,have to start there with one tablespoon,of 14 grams of instant yeast into one,and a quarter cup or 300 grams of water,that's around 95 fahrenheit oil,set over medium heat and add one thinly,sliced serrano chili seeds and all okay,don't be a baby in half of a diced,yellow onion you'll use the other half,in the guac now season that the taste,with you don't go get one,brother now to that you'll add two to,three avocados obviously the skin and,pit removed the zest of one lime lightly,mash that to get it going but don't mash,all the way all right don't get all,ahead of yourself here add salt to taste,a quarter bunch of cilantro finely,chopped the juice of one lime half a,finely diced onion see that's the other,half the onion one finely diced jalapeno,and one diced roma tomato mix all that,together till mash to your liking and,distribute it evenly adjust salt and,acid levels as needed place into a bowl,cover with plastic wrap and keep your,cheese warm don't get all whiny if it,thickens oh my god what just heat it,back up and it will become liquid again,then back to our dough degas that bad,boy lay onto a lightly floured counter,and shape into a rough rectangle that's,about 14 inches long cut that,perpendicular to the long side into 14,1-inch strips see what's happening 14,1-inch strips on a 14-inch log,now take one of those strips roll,roughly into a seven to eight inch log,assuming you know what that looks like,by heart then just tie that into a rough,knot tucking the tails underneath the,dough and place onto a baking sheet,lined with greased parchment paper and,repeat with all of your pieces of dough,cover that lightly with another inverted,baking sheet wrapped with plastic wrap,proof at room temp for 30 minutes
