15 Minute Korean Dinners that Will Change Your Life... or maybe 20
hello from seoul do you like the cookie, how about ramyun toki good ramyeon nice, then what if i combine those two it,sounds like a tasty wonderland doesn't,it alright i guess ready let me take you, there, today we are making lapoki one of the, most popular korean street foods as you,can guess from the name of the dish it,is literally ramen plus dog pookie yes,it is so delicious and super addictive, and it's not hard to make but as always,i'm gonna show you two versions the, classic one and a super simple version,so buckle up for the first one you will, need ramen cabbage onion green onion, fish cake and rice cake you can get this, kind of rice cake then make it with this, rice paper don't know how to make it,don't worry about it i'll put the video,in the card up there so you can check it,out you're welcome first let's talk, about ramen you can't actually use any, spicy korean ramen but from my,experience this janamian gives you the, best results, did you hear it call me and if you don't,mind could you please close your ears, for a sec guys it tastes absolutely, delicious with this but if you don't,have this just use what you have and, don't spend any money on this it should,be alright but it has to be normal, korean ramen with spicy soup so if you,use seafood flavor or the one with no,soup and get something weird i'm not, responsible alright let's prep the, vegetables first chop some green onion, into bite-sized pieces honestly for dog, pokey we don't need other ingredients as,long as you have lots of green onions, yeah it's that important so please be,super generous with this next depending,on the size of your onion slice half or,a quarter of an onion into thin strips, and then cut some cabbage into bite size, pieces again these guys are not, essential ingredients but they're really, gonna add a nice texture to it so if you, have them in your pantry or fridge i,highly recommend using them and then, take two fish cakes and cut them into, bite size pieces the fish cake has a,nice depth of flavor but if you add too, much it absorbs all the sauce and, eventually your lapoki will be dry like,a desert so even if it's so delicious, don't add too much it's not green onion, now let's make the sauce put two, tablespoons of curry and chili pepper, flakes two and a half tablespoons of,sugar two tablespoons of korean chili, paste two tablespoons of corn syrup one, tablespoon of soy sauce a half, tablespoon of oyster sauce one, tablespoon of mirin a half tablespoon of,tashida korean beef stock powder a half, tablespoon of chicken powder or chicken, stone a few shakes of black pepper and,one tablespoon of ramen powder here you,may say what ramen powder yes you heard,it right this seasoning powder is a key, ingredient trust me if you skip this, you'll never ever get the restaurant, taste for information if you can keep, this in the fridge overnight it will, taste even better that's the restaurant, secret but i think nobody wants to put,so much time and effort into this one, street food so let me just stir it first, put 200 grams of rice cakes into a wok,and add half of the fish cakes half of,the green onions 3 cups of water and the, sauce we made stir this around and bring,it to a boil over medium high heat here, some of you might ask aaron why did you,add only half of the fishcakes and half,of the green onions i'm so glad you, brought that up long story short it's,kind of a trick to deepen the flavor, since we added ramen powder we already, know it's fantastic but this kind of,little action will bring this to the, next level so don't forget to try this, tip alright once it starts to boil grab,a spoon and taste it i know it's,impossible but if it's under seasoned, add some salt or soy sauce you want it,to be a little spicier then you might, want to add some gochujang but if you,add it it gets too thick and you're not, gonna like it so instead of gochujang i,recommend adding some korean chili, pepper flakes or fresh chilies now let's,add the fish cakes vegetables ramen a,bowl of egg and let it continue to boil, for about 4 minutes why is it 4 minutes, because it says so but depending on the, brand it might be a little different so,make sure to follow the package, instructions people who wrote this are, experts i respect your taste but that's,the best let's transfer it to a serving, plate and finish it with some green, onions that's it it's incredibly easy, right all right let's cut our taste, tester claire,la pookie,yo,i'm super excited it looks good and, smells awesome let's dig in,ready, this time i want to try dark rice cake, turkey, foreign, this dish is perfect to go with fried, dumplings you dip it in the sauce and, have it it just tastes like heaven aaron, where's my mandu, bring some mango,it's impossible to get rice cake and, other stuff or if you're the only person,in the house so you don't want to put, lots of time and effort for those of you,i brought this super simple lapoki for, this you will need ramyun yeah only, ramen what you want some green onion, okay if that's what you want let's brin

10 Korean Foods You Must Try
10 Korean Foods You Must Try
What's up everyone, this is Steve with rock star eater and in this unique episode,I'm going to be talking about ten of the must try dishes that you must have if you were to go to any, authentic Korean restaurant,Now this is designed to be a beginner's guide for those who have never really had Korean food before well, maybe you've had Korean food before but then you've walked into a Korean barbecue restaurant had some of these short ribs as well as the, beef brisket and maybe even some kimchi and some rice and some of those side dishes that they give you at a,Korean barbecue restaurant, but then other than that,You don't really know what Korean food is and like I said,This video is designed to help you so that if you were to walk into a Korean restaurant,Let's say a non barbecue restaurant. You're to open up a menu and you see the dozens of items laid out,They're all looking. So foreign to you. And you're just wondering which of these should I order which of these are good?,well, that is what this video is designed to do and I want to help you to pick some of the best Korean dishes that you,Can get if you were to go to a Korean restaurant,Number one,Mandu Guk. Mandu guk is dumpling soup. That's boiled in the beef broth, and,Sometimes it's also accompanied with these thinly sliced rice cakes as well as this,Shredded beef and shredded scrambled eggs that's added on top of it. It's a simple dish,It's really popular during New Year's Day when Korean families gather together and they eat this stuff,It's really something that you should try if you want to try some authentic Korean soup,So if you see this at a restaurant then I would recommend get this dish, number two, kalbi tang. Kalbi Tang is,Short rib beef soup and it's the meat that they use for Korean barbecues short ribs,But rather than grilling it they boil it in a soup in order to make a soup out of it and often times it is,Accompanied by radish to give it a very nice taste as well,And this is actually another one of my favorites as well that I love to eat at home and eat at Korean restaurants as well,So if you love soup, especially beef soup and you see this on the menu at a Korean restaurant,Then go ahead and order it you can thank me. Later,Number three:Pajun. Pajun is basically Korean pancake. It's made with flour eggs,Scallion and it's very popular with two different choices. One of them is seafood,And another one is kimchi, but the very least I would recommend that you get kimchi, pajun kimchi pancake,It has a really nice crispy texture to it and it just feels so good in your mouth,I mean, especially with that kimchi flavor that gives you this slightly spicy and slightly sour taste to it,It's an awesome addition to any meal that you can order at a Korean restaurant,So, please take my word for it and order this dish if you go to a Korean restaurants number four: bulgogi,Bulgogi is basically thinly sliced beef usually made out of sirloin and it's cooked with a soy sauce. That's kind of sweet and,When it comes served to you oftentimes, you'll see that there's a lot of broth inside of it,That kind of cooks out of it and it's a great great meal that you don't necessarily have to get in a Korean barbecue, restaurant if you go to a non Korean barbecue restaurant,They will serve it to you as a lunch or dinner item you pack that in with some rice and some,Kimchi and all that other banchan, which is side dishes and you got an awesome meal there for you,So this is one you definitely need to get especially if you are a meat fan, number five,Soon tofu. Soon tofu is spicy tofu soup usually made with soft tofu and that's cooked in the spicy soup,Where you can adjust it according to however level spiciness you like it,I usually like to get my medium because I don't like to burn my mouth, but however way you like it,It is an awesome dish to get and it's usually accompanied by your choice of seafood or beef or you can get both of them,This is something that I would highly recommend that if you like tofu and you like spicy soup,Then this is a match made in heaven. See this on the menu get it,number six,Bibimbap bibimbap is basically rice that's mixed in with cooked vegetables assorted vegetables like spinach, bean sprouts shaved carrots mushrooms,And it's all kind of mixed together with some sesame oil as well as the sauce called gochujang, which is a sauce,Like a red kind of sauce that kind of gives it a little bit of a spicy flavor to it,So you put it in and you mix it all around and basically bam, that's your meal and you eat it just like that,It's also another one of the more popular,Actually casual Korean dishes that you can try,So if you've never had be being bought before then,This is something that I would recommend especially in a Korean restaurant that could serve it to you in a stone pod,Where the rice is out.,Sizzling, so don't miss this one, especially if you are a rice fan. Number seven:Japchae,Japchae is sweet potato,Noodles, that's cooked and that's mixed with oth

30 Minute Korean Dinners that Will Change Your Life... or maybe 35...
30 Minute Korean Dinners that Will Change Your Life... or maybe 35...
hello from solo today we are making one,of the best fried chickens in the world, kfc can't keep fried chicken no,it's korean fried chicken all right are,you guys ready let's get started, there are so many great fried chicken in,the world but i'm pretty sure you guys, all agree this korean fried chicken is,one of the best so today i'm gonna show, you three different versions of korean, fried chicken which are the most popular,in korea and with this recipes you may,not want to go to koreatown anymore, alright let's start with chikimu korean, pickled radish if you have korean fried, chicken without this pickled radish your, brain will say something is missing even, though you love that yes it's that, important so i'm gonna show you a super, simple version for this you will need, radish yeah that's it but it should be,this kind of korean radish or daikon so,don't even think about using a regular, radish if you make it with normal radish,it will taste bitter or weird i told you,so if you get dumped by your girlfriend,or boyfriend because you serve that, weird stuff i'm not responsible first, cut 400 grams of radish into nice little, cubes about half an inch on each side, will be perfect to pick up this radish,in a small container put one cup of,water one cup of white vinegar and half,a cup of sprite and lastly we have to,use this new sugar for restaurant taste,so please add one tablespoon of it trust,me without this you never get the taste, that you might have had at korean, restaurants at this point some of you, might think what the heck is that well,it's basically the same as sweet and low, that you might have seen at coffee house, and if you go to korean supermarkets you,can easily get this and it's less than a,dollar so please add some you will see a,whole new word unlike your expectations,we're not gonna bring this to a boil so,once it's all combined pour the liquid, over your radish once that's done cover, the lid and keep this in the fridge for,at least half a day then you can enjoy, that amazing pickled radish now let's,work on the chicken normally for korean, fried chicken we use a whole chicken but,to keep it simple i'm gonna go with, drumsticks but depending on your, preference you can also go with chicken, wings brass or even thighs so just use, what you have in your fridge that's the, best for korean fried chicken brining is,the most important part so let's make a,brine for our chicken put a half, tablespoon of salt one tablespoon of,sugar one tablespoon of chicken bouillon, powder one tablespoon of garlic powder, one tablespoon of onion powder a half, tablespoon of cayenne pepper one, tablespoon of vinegar some black pepper, three cups of water and give that a good, mix and then into this brine add in the, chicken and mix it around now keep this,in the fridge for at least three hours,to overnight then you're gonna meet the, best korean fried chicken ever what you, can't wait that long don't worry about,it as always let me save your time so,this time right onto the chicken with, one teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of,garlic powder 1 teaspoon of onion powder,1 teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder, some black pepper a half teaspoon of msg,and just give it a good massage with, this method 30 minutes will be enough so,even if you have a scary hungry bird at,home like me don't worry about it this,is going to be your life saver next, let's talk about the better in korean, supermarkets or amazon they sell this, amazing stuff which is called korean, chicken fry mix and with this bad boy,you can get the beautiful restaurant, quality fried chicken what you can get, this then combine 2 cups of cake flour 1,cup of potato starch and a pinch of salt,as long as you keep this ratio you'll be,fine so don't worry about it in a,separate bowl add 1 cup of chicken, powder mix 1 cup of cold water and give, that a good whisk and then into this, batter just add all the chicken and stir, them around to get them nice and coated, once that's done take out a large food, container that has a lid and put two, cups of chicken powder mix and spread it,out after that place your chicken one by,one and make sure they don't stick, together now all you gotta do is just, sprinkle some more powder over your, chicken and shake it that's it what you, don't have a container like this then, just put them in a large plastic bag and,do the same thing that will totally work, alright our chicken is ready to be fried, let's get cooking fill up the pot with, enough oil and heat it to 170 degrees, celsius or 340 degrees fahrenheit once,it reaches the temperature carefully, drop it in and we're gonna fry them for, five minutes depending on the size of,your pot or the amount of your chicken,it's okay to do this in batches so no,problem at all when time's up take them, out and let them rest just a little bit, what it doesn't look like the one from, korean restaurants don't worry about it,they're not fully cooked yet we still, have some journey ahead of us so to get, them nice and golden let's do the second, fry change the heat to

place called mdk noodles, which is one of the most popular, traditional noodle houses in los angeles,in koreatown they specialize in fresh, handmade noodles especially what's,called their kalguksu which is the, korean style knife cut noodles doesn't,that sound exciting, smells so good in this kitchen you smell, that lactic acid there's barrels of,kimchi going buckets of garlic flying, around the kitchen the pre-aromas of a,korean food tour,oh man i'm hungry, looks like cheese curds, seems that they make these giant noodle, rolls which almost look like paper, towels before they're then set aside and, rest and then they slice them into the, noodles but what a cool machine it kind,of kneads and, pushes them and then like flattens it,out into a roll formation, exactly, man those are fresh noodles that you're,guaranteed to get here from here we're,gonna run to the kitchen where they're,gonna where auntie is gonna cook,oh man there's just about 12 pots of,boiling broth and meat juices and sauces, all over the place and then if you come,to the back there that's where they're,going to boil the kalguksu the noodles, but then also they have this amazing, steamer for the mandu,it smells so wonderful oh man what a i,didn't even see those trays of food over, there oh yeah yeah can you eat all this, mark, baby, okay,so,so bibim kind of means like mixed right,a mixed so it's almost a mixed whoa, mix noodles mixed and then the guksu are, those noodles which used green noodles, wow,oh the mandu is ready, wow, she can cook man,um,this place is,serious man yeah, auntie's skills in the kitchen i don't,even have time to,to process what she's doing she's just, flying around the kitchen, like through volcanic steam, baths through boiling juices and noodles, everything is ready and she's probably, still like running around making more, dishes like right now,oh soybean, soybean sauce okay, wow,um,not fully,no talk about working brisk in the back,of that kitchen man they just fly auntie, she's the korean auntie you want to have, this is truly going to be an ultimate, jeffrey is also joining us for a quick, breakfast this morning,oh it's so good i think we better start, with the, mandu because they're like right out colors, inside through the dumpling and it,doesn't break apart yeah i think that's,something i love is that the skin is so,thin the owner mentioned that we one of,the special moves one of the signature, things to do here because they're famous, for their kimchi is take some of the, kimchi, and i hope we do this correct i'm gonna, put this into the bowl, take one of the dumplings, onto the kimchi and kind of wrap the, wrap the kimchi is this the, correct, method kimchi flavored flavor explosion,in your mouth man,the extra punch from that kimchi, wow yeah the ultimate move right there, absolutely and everything is like just, made fresher so you can really taste the, difference right i can never go back and, every bite of dumpling has to be with, kimchi, forever so,minced meat on top there's she added in,these fresh noodles um,let's just serve ourselves some of the, that's quite a noodle pole here but a,noodle ball come on over here i've got a,i got you bro you got me,don't let go man, don't let me drown these are the fresh, noodles that we saw them make and that, they slice in the back there in the, factory before boiling them up there's,little dumplings in there there's a,chive mixture
