in this video we're going to discuss,with you why you should pray before,meals but first we're gonna go eat that,work what are you do,there's not a specific command from the,Bible to pray before you eat but it's a,very good thing to do for many reasons,you're asking God to bless you you're,asking God to bless your food it's also,thanking God for all the good things,that you have in your life this is a,great act of humility also it's very,easy for us to get busy and to get,distracted and by stopping to pray,before meals,this helps to recollect ourselves and it,become more aware of the presence of God,in our lives st. I saw some brothers get a,for prayer after eating dates without,rinsing,is it permissible to pray after eating,without rinsing one smell one smell yes,it is permissible to pray after eating,without rinsing one's mouth because it's,not one of the conditions for the valid,prayer that one rinse one's mouth after,eating nor is it an obligatory act of,the prayer the consideration is that,within the prayer one should not swallow,anything and one should not eat one,cannot eat or drink during the prayer so,little is excused right a little bit is,excused in the Hanafi school if it's,less than the extent of a chickpea if is,already in your mouth if you happen to,swallow it it doesn't affect the,validity of the prayer right so and the,other consideration is that anything,that distracts one in prayer is disliked,and anything that distracts one in,prayer that's within one's discretion,within one's ability is disliked right,so if you have something in your mouth,or you can taste the biryani still right,or you know biryani maybe a little more,taste neutral depending on how much,masala there was in it but you know you,have something very you know like some,curry or you had some sandwich with a,lot of different sauces in it and,there's some guacamole on the left side,and there's some factory sauce on the,right and there's all kinds of things,going on then where is the presence of,heart so these are the two principles,the concern for invalidation if there's,a lot of food still in your mouth and,the second is that having you know being,able to taste food in your mouth while,praying could distract one during the,prayer so those are the two,considerations why it's better,practically if you've just eaten to,rinse your mouth so that no residual,food remains number two so that you,won't be distracted number three of,course there's a name,elected Sunnah which is that after you,eat it's recommended to brush one's,teeth right brushing one's teeth is one,of the sooners of our Deen it's a,general Sunnah that anytime ones ones,one's teeth one's mouth gets dirty or,ones breath can be affected or before,beginning something significant worldly,or religious is recommended to brush,one's teeth that's the best thing to do,but if one just ate one got up to pray,it's fine and there's no intrinsic,dislike in it,you

Konnichiwa, Satoko desu!,Welcome back to my easy Japanese lesson.,On our last lesson, we learned "Onegai",that mean "Please" when you are asking for something, in a casual way.,In a formal way, "Onegaishimasu",And today, we are going to learn one of the most important words for us Japanese.,Because we love food!,So that word is "Itadakimasu",It literally means " I'm receiving" or "I'm having".,And you might say, "What's got to do with food?",Because "Itadakimasu" is a word said before eating to show the appreciation for the food.,So it's kinda like a quick prayer. You know at some households, they hold hands and then they say a prayer before eating, right?,It's kinda like that but very quick version of it.,And we are not exactly religious in Japan but I would say we are conveniently religious.,What I mean by that is on a Christmas day, we go to the church and pray, and a week later on a New Year's day, we go to the temple or shrine to pray.,So we are flexible when it comes to religions.,So let's take a look at the pronunciation first.,"Itadakimasu". There are 6 sounds, 6 Japanese characters.,It sounds long but it's actually easy to memorize. So let's break it down.,"Ita", it is like a country, Italy's "Ita".,And "daki". Have you seen those yellow duck toys like squishy ones?,Look like this, I hope you like my drawing?,It's called "dukki". So "Ita" "dukki" ,"masu". We already know this one, "Gozaimasu", the same "masu",It sounds like "mask" but without "K","Itadakimasu",And I wanna introduce you to how we actually use this "Itadakimasu" in a sentence.,Something o itadakimasu.,So that means I'm receiving or having something. So this is a polite way of saying it.,So if you wanna say "I'm having Sushi","Osushi o itadakimasu","Osushi", do you remember from our last lesson?,If you add "O" in front of a noun or an item, it becomes politer, right?,"Osushi" is Sushi. o itadakimasu. Receiving, having.,And so this "o" is a partial. So how do you know when to use "o"?,So you can ask this question. "What am I itadakimasu?" "What am I having?" ,And if the answer can go in front of "o", that's when you can use "o",Something o itadakimasu.,And there is a past tense to this "itadakimasu". That is "Itadakimashita",Do you remember? "masu" becomes "mashita" in a past tense, right?,"Arigatou gozaimasu", that was "Thank you very much",In a past tense, "Arigatou gozaimashita", right?,So if you wanna say "I had sushi", that's "Osushi o itadakimashita". ,So that's the past tense, alright?,So let's go back to our food situation here. So here's the conversation.,A server or the person who cooked the meal for you is serving you a meal by saying "Douzo", means "Go ahead",And you, eater would say "Itadakimasu". It's a quick prayer before eating.,And so most of the cases, by just saying "Douzo", that's good enough.,But if you wanna say "Enjoy your meal" more officially, you can say those words.,And I'm gonna quickly introduce you to this.,And the first one is "Meshiagare",This is actually an order form of "Meshiagaru", which means "Eat" in a politer version of it.,So since it is an order form, I wouldn't use "Meshiagare" to somebody older than me.,Actually my grandma used this "Meshiagare" very often to me.,So you can just say "Meshiagare" or you can add "Douzo" and then "Meshiagare", ok?,And the second way is "Meshiagatte". It's polite buy still casual.,So I would use this to acquaintances or your friends.,And you can also add "Douzo".
