uh,here comes peter cottontail hopping down,the money trail,peter cottondale's coming whether you,like it or not,the year is flying by already and it is,almost easter time can you believe it,i can't believe it but i love the spring,and summer so i am so ready and i love a,delicious easter dinner today i'm making,a 17 17.39 easter dinner from walmart,and i think you could even do it cheaper,if you want to but i just want to show,you that you can have an amazing time,make memories eat well and just have so,much fun for not spending a lot of money,we even colored easter eggs i mean you,can't get much better than that the kids,had so much fun doing this this is like,my favorite we love love love doing,holiday meals we get to have like a,second holiday meal when we film one of,these so,it's just a blast and i'm excited to,show you i hope that you have a fabulous,magical easter yourselves and get some,great ideas for your family so you don't,break the bank i did do this just,recently so you know i know food prices,have gone up this is the most recent,iteration of food prices going up uh if,they go up more,we're just going to buckle down even,harder right,so,this is a great meal enjoy all right,here is everything i got at walmart for,our easter dinner now it seems like,sparse but really there should be plenty,of food for us and we're even gonna have,like a little appetizer,and i think it's just gonna be great so,i got this ham and this is three dollars,and fifty six cents this is the most,expensive thing here,when it gets closer to easter,i believe that you can get,like a bone in ham,for close to 30 something cents a pound,so you should be able to go very,inexpensive on like a full-size ham and,then you get the ham bone and you'll,have leftovers you can make pea soup and,you can make different like a ham,casserole you can you have a lot of,leftovers totally worth it to get the,larger ham when it's closer to easter,time and the ham goes on sale in this,case,uh it's not yet easter and so there's no,easter sales per se,so i wanted to go with this ham steak,which i ordered it,on a pickup and it was 3.56 cents on,pickup this is 3.60 it's not exactly,sure it's point eight pounds,it's cut into like two,this for the family of four of us this,should do just for tonight should be,plenty of food and it will give us all,of our delicious ham cravings,with the ham i mean because i didn't,have the big ham doesn't mean that i,can't have fun with it and i feel like,what is a dinner without your pineapple,slices on your ham i don't know personal,opinion on that that's kind of like,delicious so,we're going to kind of make this work,and make it look pretty with some,pineapple slices and that was 1.28 so,again i kind of went a little bit,expensive on this so if you didn't do,pineapple sizes and you had a sale you,could probably just get your ham,this was also substituted because there,was supposed to be the great value brand,and they only had the dole eggs i,already colored these eggs with the kids,where's the egg dyeing kit,maybe it got thrown away because it was,empty but there was an egg dying kit,that i bought that was 98 cents,and then these eggs were a dollar 65,and,i have a video of us we colored the eggs,with the egg dyeing kit the boys did and,then three of them i left uncolored,because we're going to use those in a,cake,so for me,it's not easter without colored eggs and,we'll actually do egg fights so we're,gonna take our egg and you hold it like,this and then the other person like,smashes it like this,and you see whose egg comes out,victorious,and then one of these eggs which is,already cracked maybe this one this,one's pretty pretty cracked here i'm,actually it was fun to color it but,we're gonna take it we're gonna put it,in a potato salad so the key to doing a,dinner like this where you're trying to,save money and go low cost is to,reuse buy something you can utilize for,multiple things so this is good for my,cake this is good for my potato salad,and it's good for our little appetizer,and our game,all the fun,and,for another appetizer i really wanted to,do like a couple appetizers so i was,figuring what can we do we could have,technically done like deviled eggs with,this and,i will put out like a little mayo and,once we kill um kill once we,we have an egg,fight,and it's time to eat the eggs you can,put a little mayonnaise and salt on that,if that's how you like it because that,is how we like it that's basically,an un-deviled deviled egg right,then i got a little bit of garlic,and a,tomato and the product was like 15 cents,for this and the tomato is 35 cents and,i'm gonna make a just like a little,bruschetta we're gonna use a little bit,of um oil with this and maybe a little,bit of dried,basil so i'm assuming you might have,some dried spices,and i have these flaky jumbo biscuits,and i'm part part of these biscuits i'm,going to use to make,like a crispy bruschetta for us i wanted,to get rolls uh but they were more,expensiv

hey everyone welcome back to awesome our,kids today I'm super excited to be,hanging out with baby sky hi sky hi,everyone hi sky yeah so I'm about to,feed sky her dinner and after dinner I,have something special plans why is it,check it out so cool yep we'll be doing,a Japanese candy kit together and we'll,also be opening three kinder eggs but,first you need to have dinner first I,have this whole tray of healthy foods,there's carrots peas and pasta once,you're all done with this we can get to,the fun stuff,oh good job Skye are you ready for,dessert now yeah yes all right let's do,the Japanese candy kit first we'll be,making a delicious parfait sundae,they'll be chocolate and candy sprinkles,too let's play this plate so this kits,made by kracie,and the back of the bag has the,instructions the only thing that doesn't,come with a kit is water so make sure,you have some on hands here's everything,that comes with a kit this is the first,powder this is the second powder to make,it fluffy here's the chocolate sauce,powder and this is the camee sprinkles,we also get a spoon and some waffle,sticks this is a tray where everything's,gonna go let's cut apart the measuring,cup first let's add the red packet,and now add in one scoop of water and,mix ooh this smells like grape no it is,now we add in the second packet,look at how fluffy it's getting let's,make the chocolate sauce,this needs one scoop of water that looks,pretty good let's put the sprinkles in,next let's decorate it first and then,you can dig in,very try can I try,oh you're right sky let's take a dip,this is the last bite yummy stay with it,we also have some kinder eggs to open,these eggs have a sweet treat on one,side and the other side has a toy you,can play with let's open it let's check,out the snack first,mmm this smells delicious,those are crispy cocoa wafer balls on a,bed of milk and cream chocolate here's,guy why don't you give it a try,the toys now yeah let's check it out,this paper tells you about the toy you,got and it also has the instructions on,it oh it looks like some sort of,baseball game oh wait it's not baseball,it's cricket here's the targets there's,five 15 and 10 points the disc goes into,a glove like this and that shoots out to,the batter,let's give it a shot we still have more,eggs to open let's do it my toys my toys,and actually maybe you should cool on,the candy I think you have a bit of a,sugar rush you can still play with the,toys though and we'll see have a,chocolate for another time you see shows,she got some sort of chariot this time,let's put the driver on,yep there's one more egg let's open it,oh I think this is a finger wheel,there's three parts we need to put,together,now the whale is swimming on my finger,well I'm glad sky loved her desserts and,this was a lot of fun I hope you guys,enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up,if you did and please subscribe to watch,more thanks

hello this is chef john from,foodwishes.com with,how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs,easter's coming so i thought i would,resurrect an old trick,and show you how i do,hard-boiled eggs so we're gonna take a,saucepan,i'm just gonna do six eggs here so i'm,gonna put six eggs at the bottom of the,pan i'm gonna fill it with cold water to,cover,they say cover by an inch but you know,what as long as they're covered you're,good to go,put that on high heat,and as soon as it starts to simmer i'm,talking just,starts to bubble not boiling it just,starts to bubble and the eggs start to,dance around just a little,turn off the heat,cover quickly,set your timer,for 17 minutes don't peek,don't do anything,just go do something that takes 17,minutes,all right so 17 minutes later i'm going,to bring the eggs over to the sink i'm,going to pour off the hot boiling water,being careful not to dump all the eggs,into the sink,then i'm going to pour over really cold,water,swirl it around a little bit this,initial blast of cold water really takes,most of the heat away from the pan,after that initial dousing in cold water,i'm going to fill it back up all the way,with cold water and let them sit until,they're cool,how long does that take i don't know,maybe 20 minutes,after that,you peel under,running water which is how i do it you,slice in and you have the most perfect,hard-boiled eggs ever,the whites are firm but not rubbery,the yolks are cooked but still creamy,and you'll have the most delicious,easter eggs in the neighborhood and of,course summer is rapidly approaching so,you're going to need eggs for your egg,salad and your potato salad which is,what i'm making here so anyway just a,little tip on how to hard-boiled eggs,that's my method i don't know if it's,the best method but it works for me,there's nothing worse than those,overcooked green yellow greenish,chalky,just dry eggs,no good anyway i hope you give that a,try go to the site for more info and as,always,enjoy,hot cross buns,that's right i'm very excited to show,you how to make this classic easter,treat and not only are we gonna save,money by making these at home i mean,what do these go for in a store these,days i'm assuming it's way more than one,or two for a penny but above and beyond,being frugal the best reason to make,these is so you actually can get a real,hot cross bun,since somehow somewhere along the line,someone decided if you just pipe a cross,on a dinner roll with some icing that,would count as a hot cross bun but it,doesn't the cross must be baked in,so stay tuned for that easy but exciting,technique,but before we get to that we have a few,things to do for example if you're using,dry currants which you will be,i like to warm up some rum and just soak,those for a few hours before i use them,okay totally optional step but if you,don't do this you don't get to drink,strained current infused rum,which i have to admit was pretty good,and then once our dried fruit is prepped,we can move on to the dough,which we're going to start with some,warm milk and by warm i mean about 100,degrees or so,to which i'm going to add a little bit,of flour,plus one package of dry active yeast,and what we'll do is give that a mix and,let it sit for about 15 minutes just to,double check the yeast is good,and also we're going to give it a little,bit of a head start growing and,multiplying,so i'll let that sit for about 15,minutes,and if i see bubbles and kind of a foamy,yeasty raf come to the surface i know,i'm good and we can proceed,so that is looking good right there,and then once our yeast has proved it's,worthy,we can go ahead and add the rest of the,ingredients,which will include some white sugar,as well as one large egg,that we should beat up before adding,we will also toss in a whole bunch of,lemon and orange zest,which brings us to some very traditional,holiday baking spices,such as freshly grated nutmeg,we will definitely also want to add some,cinnamon,as well as a little bit of the,mysterious and exotic cardamom,and then we're also of course going to,need a little bit of salt,and then we'll finish this up with a,little touch of melted butter,just a mere seven tablespoons,and then last but not least we will dump,in our flour,but of course not all of it you know we,like to get this kneading first and then,we can add the rest of the flour if we,need it,but anyway whether you end up using all,the flour or not we're going to knead,this for about five to six minutes,until we end up with a beautiful soft,supple slightly elastic dough,and you know the drill here,eventually the dough is going to sort of,ball together and pull away from the,sides,and if it doesn't that's when you add a,little more flour,but eventually it will come together and,pull away from the sides at which point,we'll continue kneading until we have,something that looks like this,okay it's going to be relatively soft,and look kind of shiny,and by the way if you use enough flour,that dough should come off the hook nice,

well Easter Sunday is one week for today,and if you from today and if you're,looking for some ideas for your Easter,menu,you're in luck chef Brendan Fay managing,director of trattoria del arte is here,to show us some recipes for Easter and,it smells delicious first we did,something really fun and easy we did,just a little twist on the traditional,little chicks right so we need checks,and they're really cute and they're,really awesome so you always want to,help me out,use any contradiction align we got the,Easter the deviled egg filling right,there once you pull that up right oh,this is fun now when you when you double,your eggs and you cut the top off we,just get rid of em whether you like,sheep in themselves I reserve that for,later on,put it right on top just like that,awesome then you add some caper capers,which little chick eyes how cute is that,and what is what are you putting your,fillings really cool it's really cute,some parsley use them dill that you made,earlier exactly there we go oh but I,mean the filling is mayonnaise a little,bit of mustard I throw some pickle juice,in there Oh a little spice to it right a,little bit of Tabasco sauce any,traditional recipe you find a line of,work but that's it there's really no big,secret deviled eggs so what I'm enjoying,them and eating them and eating a lot of,them and the display is very beautiful,okay what's next,okay so now this is a little bit harder,and it's a little bit longer but this is,awesome,Easter's around the corner so what I do,is I was in Italy last year this is a,lamb shoulder then you can also use a,lamb shank which is a little bit smaller,the same preparation but lamb shoulders,a lil bit bigger it's also more,economical and it goes a long way the,shoulder is big so it's about braising,that and it's about making on a pasta,I'm gonna walk you through it really,quick cuz it sounds intimidating the,lamb shoulder you're not used to making,something like that,holy intimidating there's a lot of quick,and easy tips that make it very easy,okay so for one when you go to the,market I tell you really nicely tied up,and wrapped yeah I definitely do that my,skills are not that good would took me,way too long and it'd be sloppy so you,go to the market and first is you can,get the lamb shoulder on or off the,bowling ask for an off the ball give a,little you know on the bones deftly more,flavor yeah a little bit because why,it's all about the braising to me,delicious no matter what I said the,butcher can I get it off the bone can,you wrap and tie it for me that's right,there okay bring this no man it's all,about braising it so before we start to,braise it we're gonna make our,caramelized onions and so this is a,pasta that has a lot of caramelized,onions and lamb a little capital e pasta,and so we do is you grab these onions,right here alright,and we just chop those up we'll need a,little bit of butter mid-time some herbs,I'm gonna caramelize those I want to set,that aside and this is by the way what,it looks like before when you first get,it this is what it looks like so I,exercise pretty big and this goes a very,long way there's all me right here so,you want to do is before you start to,braise anything you want to sear this,all around account locks in the flavors,don't have a name but it's Walworth then,it goes a long way so you start to sear,it all around and then you set that,aside and you get your caramelize,openings when I deglaze the pan so,what's that people like deglaze the pan,a little bit but you guys on the panel,are you doing is that - you scared this,and you have like the residue on the,bottom like that yeah all they have nice,fats and on the bottom of the pan you're,gonna grab some vegetable stock or grab,some white wine and what that does is,basically we read releases all the,residue on the bottom of the pan well,that nice flavor you guys talk to cook,with okay so that is that the pasta so,there's the pot attack so yeah this,which takes about he do his shoulder,three to four hours any oven in the oven,so if you're a big family you get the,shoulder get the shank maybe two hours,and what do you where did we setting it,on we're saying a 300 300 and you want,to make sure you cover it well or use,some plastic put over a nice casserole,pot and that basically locks in the,moisture cuz they swing you're braising,something it's about hot and Ricky,you know let's get to the fun part we,made some cabbage jelly Boston,like a twisty pasta well I love that,cavatelli,you gotta captures all the sauce in,there so you want to throw your pasta,mousse in there right and you've got,your caramelized onions want those in to,make sure,cindy was like the pasta looks like,worms it's so simple so even if you,don't have the lamb ragu which we made,you could just use caramelized onions,and pasta and just some herbaceousness,okay so you have the onions because we,all have a minute left so the onions and,what else,just some parsley at the end but in the,beginning when you'

my name is vika i'm very glad to see you,today and i know that most of you have,already celebrated easter,but in russia we are going to celebrate,easter on the 2nd of may,because we do it according to an,orthodox calendar i thought that,it would be very fun and cool to cook,some traditional easter,meals that we cook all over russia a lot,of people celebrated even,people who are not christians and who,are christians like everybody celebrate,easter,i have never cooked these meals before,because my grandma used to cook them,or we were just buying them in the,supermarket but,this year i decided that it would be fun,all the recipes in the internet were,different so i just picked,not very simple but not very complicated,ones so the first meal i'm going to cook,is kulich kulich is like a huge muffin,with a glaze on top and originally it,represents like the grave and,resurrection of christ,and the celebration meal uh that,apostles had with the christ after,resurrection so for that we will need,milk,butter eggs sugar flour uh,vanilla sugar yeast and a little bit of,decorations,first of all i need to heat uh milk a,little bit about,half of the litter just a little bit so,it would be warm but not like hot,i'm going to add about 12 11 grams of,yeast right into the milk,just mix it and then about,500 grams of flour,so i hope i mixed it well and now i'll,cover it with the towel or something,like that,and put in a warm place for about half,of the hour while the dough is resting,we need about,six eggs and we need to separate yolks,from whites,so into the yolks we need to add sugar,i'll add about,gloss in the half and also a little bit,of,vanilla sugar,when it comes to whites i'll add just a,little bit of salt inside,and then mix it also a little bit to get,the something like a foam on top,it's a vintage mixer uh that my mom gave,to me,it's older than me actually so the dough,is ready,butter should be soft so i kept it uh,just in the room for some time and now,it's,uh like melted a little bit first of all,i'll mix,it with the yolks then i'll add,butter and also mix it and then i'll add,whites and also mix it so right now i,have to,add about five seven hundred grams,of flour like more it depends on the,dough itself i'll,mix it and just see how much i need the,dough shouldn't be sticky and shouldn't,be like,too thick,so i separated the dough into two pots,because i hope it will grow,significantly and,i left it uh for rest for about an hour,while it's resting,i'm going to prepare raisins uh,the decor on top and the glaze,i have a mix of yellow and black raisins,i'll leave them to soak for about 20,minutes and then we'll dry them,so it has been about an hour and a half,a little bit longer than,i thought it would take because we were,eating lunch,and i had to change because kids are a,little bit messy so,anyway uh the door i think you can see,that,the door is ready so i'll just mix it,with the raisins,i have this uh disposable,forms for baking cooli cheese,specifically,and i'll fill about one like about,third part of each form with the dough,and we'll leave them for,rest again about for 15 maybe 20 minutes,and then we'll,put them into the oven the recipe says,that you need to put this kool-achi,into the preheated oven for 10 minutes,at 100 degrees celsium,and then for more time,at 180 degrees celsius until they will,be ready but we will see i,i don't really know as i said i'm,cooking them the first time,in my life so,just a little bit aging sugar about half,of the gloss,and will mix it very very well,finally thick enough,it took a little bit more than half of,the hour uh but i'm sure it depends on,the oven so,it looks like that right now i'm going,to put,this glaze on top and some decorations,the second meal is a cottage cheesy,thing,i know that not everybody has cottage,cheese but that's like the main,ingredient,and the meal itself is called easter,which is the same name,as the holiday itself and it is a little,bit confusing so it's called,pascha originally like what i've read it,symbolized uh,the grave of the christ and the fact,that,the light has won over the darkness i,think because it's like,white light thing so for that we need a,lot of cottage cheese sour cream,sugar butter vanilla sugar eggs,and i also decided to add some,raisins uh almonds and this dry fruits,so first of all first,first of all we need to blend the,cottage cheese it's better to do it with,a,small blender you know that goes like,inside the food but i don't have that,one so i'm trying to do it with the big,one and,it's it's kind of awkward so how i,blended cottage cheese and now i need to,mix eggs sour cream and butter,all together,so then i need to add this blended,cottage cheese to that,mix,now i put the pot uh with the cottage,cheese and all the rest,on the other pot with water and i'll,boil it all,uh till it gets hot and now i'll leave,it till it's a little bit cooler,and then add some sugar,this cottage cheese thing is already,cool enough so,i'll add
