What My 8 Month Old Eats In A Week // BABY LED WEANING tips, tricks, & recipes!!!

hello,hello welcome back to my channel if,you're new here my name is delilah and i,make videos here weekly i've been,sharing our life and our journey of,starting a family young a common video,that people,love,and request whenever my babies are,starting to eat is a what my baby eats,in a day video and so i figured this,time i would take it a little step,further and i would share what my baby,eats in a week we do a mix of baby lead,weaning and,a little bit of spoon feeding but mostly,baby lead weeding,um i really only resort to spoon feeding,on occasion depending on the situation,i'm no expert i'm just a mom doing this,for the third time,um so everything that i know is is,mostly based off of personal experience,i'll try to make most of his food,homemade or like he'll eat off my plate,at dinner time depending on what we're,eating but um,i'm also not opposed to the odd,store-bought snack or food pouch or,whatever here and there my goal with,this video is just to give you a lot of,inspiration give you some good baby food,ideas some snack ideas some some,inspiration on how,how to go about,doing baby lead weaning also keeping in,mind william has no teeth he's currently,working on his two bottom like i can,feel them coming through,but they're not quite there yet,and so everything that he's eating is,totally appropriate for,ow it's totally appropriate for babies,with no teeth so join me for the next,week as i,feed my baby i guess now that my shirt,is covered in baby drool excuse the,state of our kitchen we are currently in,the process of a,budget friendly diy kitchen makeover,yesterday meal prepped a whole bunch of,food which is what i'm pulling from,today so i've got some baby iron,fortified pancakes here that i'm just,gonna pop in the toaster i've been,starting what i call meal prep mondays,which has come in so handy especially at,this age when they're just starting to,eat you really have to modify everything,so that they are able to eat it so i,like to have some snacks i could quickly,grab and go and this book has been,so handy for that i have marked off,i'm gonna make his food first so that he,can eat,and then i'll finish telling you about,this,what you see here is a homemade baby,pancake with a fruit relax spread which,is really good for helping keeping him,regular and on the side i added some,steamed apple and pear wedges so,yesterday i made some iron fortified,baby pancakes which she's eating right,now i made some uh like peanut butter,baby cereal fingers basically like a,baby's version of a peanut butter cookie,i made applesauce i made pear sauce and,when i made those as well i also just,set aside a little bit,of the steamed wedges so that,for situations like this he can,eat it on his own and then i don't have,to spoon feed him or anything like that,but i do like to make some kind of a,puree each week so that i have something,to grab when we're going up the house i,just find it's much easier to fill a,reusable pouch with a baby food a puree,of some kind rather than packing,something like this because it's easier,to just feed him a pouch on the go i,think that was everything i made for him,this week just a couple snacks that i,can easily grab and all of those recipes,i found in this book this has been my,number one go-to book when it comes to,baby lead weaning i got this when i was,a first-time mom really trying to figure,out what baby lead reading was all about,um so there's a lot of super great,information on how to begin there's even,like meal plans and stuff which i i,personally never use but really good to,reference to,and then so many good recipes like great,beginner baby recipes which we're in,right now and then,um,breakfast lunch and dinner recipes for,when he's a little older,i can link this below it has been so,useful so helpful everything that he's,eating right now,came from here a couple weeks ago i made,this fruit black spread which has,it has dates raisins prunes um wheat,brown this lasts for a month in your,fridge and it a little goes a long way,so you can even freeze it to make it,last longer i find it helps so much with,keeping him regular and he loves the,taste of it so i'll spread it on,pancakes so it's better than toast i'll,spread it on whatever and it's a nice,alternative to jam i'm also trying to,teach you how to learn a sippy cup or a,straw or,some form of cup this is a really great,one it has a weighted bottom so it's,more likely to stay standing,um it's small for his little hands it's,got a straw he hasn't quite figured it,out yet but,we,with all our babies have skipped right,past bottles i've never really felt a,need to use bottles and then when it,gets to this point it just doesn't make,sense to,give him a bottle like i'd rather just,go straight into sippy cups or straw,cups he's got the concept but he hasn't,figured out how to suck so it's just a,matter of time you gotta let them figure,it out,so that's all for breakfast and i'll see,you at lunch maybe  ,more hand-held foods and just exploring the world  possibly outside of purees depending on whatever  ,method you're feeding your little ones everyone  does it different we did a hybrid of like thicker  ,purees mixed with baby lead weaning style hand  foods that sage my daughter could actually self  ,feed and all different textures but obviously do  what you're comfortable with and what breakfast  ,so let's hop right into the video and get started  all right let's start with the first meal of the  ,day which is breakfast i am making hard-boiled  eggs now eggs are an allergen food so definitely  ,check with your little ones and your healthcare  professional to make sure they are not allergic  ,and how to introduce that and stuff if you are  like new to the whole realm of allergen foods and  ,stuff and how to introduce that i took an amazing  online course which i will link down below and in  ,the blog post of for this video i can use the code  sage eats for 15 off it was what i used in the  ,beginning when i was learning to feed sage i was  so overwhelmed and scared if i'm being honest and  ,i took this course it was it's run by two canadian  dietitians and honestly they're just amazing i  ,love their instagram account and they just have  so much knowledge when it comes to everything to  ,feeding your baby so definitely check that out  if you are just like whoa allergens and choking  ,and introducing foods freaks me out um  just you know get educated so you can feel  ,more confident all right back to the boiled  eggs so how i like to do mine is i like to  ,have the water already boiling i pop in the  eggs slowly with the spoon so they don't crack  ,i boil them for about 10 to 15 minutes depending  on how hard boiled you want them take them out  ,once they're done place them in an ice bath to  cool and i usually find it's easiest to peel  ,them right away if you just let them sit there for  a bit it can be harder peel them and then you just  ,store them in a container and there's so many  different ways you can serve hard-boiled eggs  ,you can grate them you can crumble them you can  mash them up with some avocado kind of like an egg  ,salad and also the allergen part of eggs is  usually the egg white so hard boiling them too can  ,separate the yolk easily and you can add the yolk  into other foods and stuff to start incorporating  ,that which has a lot of great nutrients for your  little ones and then you could just eat the egg  ,whites yourself but we also did a lot of scrambled  eggs for sage around the 9 to 12 months and we  ,still do it but just scrambled eggs are harder to  meal prep so the hard-boiled eggs is a great one  ,just to pop in the fridge have them for the week  and honestly it's like a great quick food for you  ,as well as a parent i ate so many hard-boiled eggs  in the first year with sage all right now when it  ,comes to breakfast i love making oatmeal for sage  in the morning but one thing i sometimes find  ,hard to find store-bought that doesn't have any  additives is coconut milk we use a lot of coconut  ,milk and sage's food i find it's naturally  sweet it's a good source of healthy fats and  ,it's easily available if you want to just save  some money and save some hassle of trying to find  ,cans of coconut milk that don't have any gums and  additives in it you can actually just make your  ,own and it's really easy in a high

foreign,i will be catching pokemon,hello guys and welcome back to my,channel if you're new here,whoa if you're new here my name is,corinne and i am a first time mama,to an eight and a half month old baby,boy we do lots of vlogs,and mommy content lifestyle content,that interests you make sure to,subscribe and also go follow me over on,instagram i'm always posting over there,on my stories,and just sharing more behind the scenes,type of footage almost on the daily so,make sure if you aren't following me to,go ahead and follow me over there,for this video i have had a lot of,requests,from you guys to do a what my baby eats,in a day video instead of doing,one day i'm probably gonna do this over,a course of a couple of days,so you guys are able to get a better,idea of what israel eats israel,is breastfed and he eats every three,hours,during the day and then he usually eats,one or two times,in the night so he is eating about six,to eight times a day still,and his feeding schedule has not slowed,down since he started solids,we also do baby lead weaning so we don't,do,purees the only time that we do use,purees,is when he is constipated so we do have,prunes that we just keep handy just in,case he needs some help,being a little more regular and,sometimes i do add those prunes to like,his oatmeal,or like if i were to give him some,smoothie things like that,as of right now israel is only eating,two meals a day so we,have like a brunch and then he eats,dinner with us,so right now it is 11 a.m he just got,done,eating he had some milk,and now we're gonna have our brunch and,today i am going to make pancakes,and whoa and steam some frozen berries,so israel is gonna have some berries,with his breakfast this morning,i just use organic frozen berries from,costco and i usually just squish them up,so that he's able to pick them up easily,gonna be pulling apart his pancake,and setting it out on his tray for him,this,is still really hot and now i'm gonna be,taking some,trader joe's organic peanut butter and,i'm gonna drizzle a tiny bit of it,onto his pancake pieces,foreign,oh,baby led weaning is extremely messy as,you can see,usually we do strip him down naked just,so it's easier,for us to clean him up and so he doesn't,stain his clothes,my number one tip for those of you who,want to do baby led weaning take all of,their clothes off,because then you don't have to worry,about trying to get stains out of your,favorite outfits,it's a lot less laundry too and my,favorite bibs are,the silicone ones he's wearing one right,now with the little pouch in it because,he's always dropping food and he's so,funny because once,all of his food is off of his little,table right here,he looks down into his pouch and he,starts getting all of the food out of,his pouch and eating it,you want a little bit of water,good boy see we just gotta do a little,at a time,for tonight we are having coconut curry,since we do baby lead weaning israel is,back there in his jelly jumper,it's his first time israel eats whatever,we eat,sometimes i do modify it though just,according to,his needs so israel is eight and a half,months and his,pincer grasp is honestly amazing,so i don't cut things into strips for,him very often anymore,i actually cut them into little squares,for him and he usually just takes like a,fistful,of whatever is in front of him and just,stuffs his face you guys just saw me,cutting up a ton of veggies i put them,all in a bowl because i'm prepping,my dinner because i'm prepping our,dinner right now and i actually cut up,israel's veggies smaller than ours,and i'm gonna be setting these aside and,i'm gonna be steaming his,separately in the baby food maker for,him,so just for size difference i don't know,if you guys are going to be able to tell,so that's how big ours are and that's,how big israel's are,i just want them to be small enough for,him to be able to swallow,if he were to swallow it whole but also,not too,tiny so that he's able to pick it up,okay,you don't have your cushion this time,okay here you need to be,there you go oh my gosh,do you think,of this curry,i can only imagine how good this would,be if we had some,non curry,i agree,whatever you did different it's good,this is a delicious bun,hmm,hello guys it is the next day and i'm,getting ready to,make israel's brunch right now today i'm,going to show you guys how i make his,oatmeal i really like to serve oatmeal a,couple times,a week for breakfast just because it's,so easy to change it up you can do it,so many ways you can add so many things,into it,i'm gonna go ahead and show you guys how,i make israel's,oatmeal i'll put you,up here i always like to use these easy,peasy mats,on mornings that i don't feel like,waiting,40 minutes for still cut oats to be done,we just use the regular one minute,quaker oats,and i just pour some into his bowl,good amount honestly and then there's,several different liquids that i rotate,i guess you could say so hello everybody its Delilah and welcome,back to my channel today I'm going to,take you along with us during our day,and I'm gonna show you everything that,my eight month old daughter eats in a,day I've also gotten lots of questions,about when I breastfeed her how often I,breastfeed her so I'm gonna answer all,of that in this video bear in mind that,I still don't really know what I'm doing,but does any first time mom really know,what they're doing we are doing a cross,between baby led weaning and traditional,feeding this day is already off to a,strange start because Eloise is still,sleeping and it is almost 8 o clock,she's normally awake around 6:00 or 6:30,that shouldn't affect her meals too much,today I hope so what we are aiming for,right now is about three meals a day,sometimes she also has to snack in,between I also really try to encourage,family meals so eating together,especially at supper time but sometimes,it just doesn't work during the day like,for example I was really hungry so I ate,breakfast already but Eloise obviously,is still sleeping so she's gonna have,breakfast later typically I try and make,Eloise's meals very similar to what I'm,eating that way it just saves me time I,don't have to make like a separate meal,just for her but if I'm serving her,something like oatmeal something that's,more of a Puri I will typically feed it,to her myself if you're reaches for the,spoon I'll let her grab it and feed,herself that way if I'm feeling really,ambitious sometimes I'll go full out,baby led weaning and just let her have,at it by herself but it gets extremely,messy and that mess is very hard to,handle sometimes and that is the main,reason why we haven't gone full of baby,led weaning because she's sleeping in,I'm up I'm about to eat my breakfast so,I prepared Eloise's breakfast as well,for breakfast today I am having oatmeal,so I made it always some oatmeal as well,now this looks different because it is,mine has granola and stuff on it and,maybe she can't eat granola so instead I,made her some oatmeal and I put some,pear Puri in here that I had frozen in,the freezer I'm gonna mix that all in,with some milk and I'm also gonna add a,probiotic right before she eats it this,is the flora baby stuff this is what,we've been using since she was newborn,and it's a powder form so I just mix it,into here I'm also gonna add frozen that,chunk of yogurt to cool it down,and some of this stuff this is a mixture,of like prunes and raisins and dates,this is to help with her constipation,she actually really likes the taste of,it so I'm just gonna add it all into,here she just woke up hey what are you,doing in the corner all right let's go,get you some milk,she is just nursing right now she nurses,every time she wakes up so after every,nap and in the morning the first thing,we do is feed her because otherwise she,gets a little bit angry and upset if she,doesn't get milk right-of-ways she also,gets milk right before she goes to bed,as well so unless you're between 4 & 5,times a day and then sometimes once or,twice at night it kind of just depends,on the day and the night and how it all,goes is that good no we'll check back in,with you guys in an hour okay so it is,about an hour later Eloise is starting,to get a bit hungry again so I've got,her oatmeal here it's been sitting out,so it's not hot are you ready,yummy,this would be the time that she would,normally wake up from her nap,and have some milk of course the day,that I'm filming all day long she,decides to throw her routine off but she,is having her milk right now and then in,about an hour from now we're gonna feed,her some lunch are you good now you were,very angry with me,wow they're angry,okay Eloise would you like pancakes or,eggs for lunch which one do you want,got a cucumber research you want,cucumbers for lunch,much what I'm gonna do pancakes or eggs,for her lunch typically if I do make,eggs or pancakes I make a bunch of them,and that you'll kind of see that,throughout the week,alright the selection of food we chose,is a hard-boiled egg and some ham yeah,does that sound good there's some egg,for you and some ham she's starting to,develop the pincer grasp I think that's,how you pronounce it where she uses her,thumb and her pointer finger so I can,now chop things up into small pieces and,she can grab them and its really cute,watching her to eat do you like that,also we try and put like a burp cloth or,something down here to catch some of the,food it helps a little bit,normally I would give her something more,than just eggs and meat like I want to,add cheese or maybe some fruits or,veggies on the side but we are running,very little groceries so this is all we,have right now so this is what she's,having today but normally there would be,a little bit of something else some more,variety she's generally not a picky,eater which is very nice -
