but,we're not here at night we actually fly,today but you know what it's still,pretty during the day so take a look at,this place it is so cool very very cool,we got the Incredible Hulk over here,Superman you name it filling station,uh I'm pretty sure that's the checkers,guy,from an American franchise but whatever,but this place goes on and on and it's,all the way around the corner here and,it's very famous here in town hey Bob's,Big Boy that's right big boy that's the,one it was Big Boys very famous,especially in California my name is Bob,whoa we had a buddy we used to call him,a big boy oh but that's right I don't,know how this got all the way to here I,don't think look how big it is I'm not,sure it's the original they might have,made it here it's possible they could,have made it here but yeah most people I,asked have no clue who it is investor,from California right and I've been to,California so as soon as I saw it I was,explaining George no no that's an,American franchise British one all right,part of America yeah what 53rd state or,something something like that yeah,something like that you know I know how,it goes I know where it goes so there,you go,advertising this place but hey the place,is pretty cool,well Huntington Beach California I'm an,old surf bum okay let's go inside this,place let's check it out you ready let's,go let's go,so pretty thank you very much,all right look at this look at this,Chopper here that's an antique,gas pumps oh Coca-Cola uh cooler there,the decor in this place is incredible I,mean look they got they got a statue of,me,doesn't it,wow just twins,absolute twins this is like a Horror's,wet dream you know like if you hoarded,stuff and you put everything together,like this is the best thing you could do,to display it collectors are there like,whoa what's up with this girl we're not,we're collectors we're not hoarders okay,but I'm telling you if you came home and,like a friend just had a whole bunch of,beer bottles just on a shelf empty,you're probably gonna ask them a couple,questions like are you okay you know,like it's cool what I would ask a couple,questions,all right yeah it's true maybe maybe,just saying cool anyway they got all,kinds of bottles from all over the world,here all different kinds of beers right,soft drinks everything so this is really,cool and uh yeah I don't know how many,people remember this,I do I remember a phone book,and I remember having to put a quarter,in and make a phone call,this is before cell phones animated,and that's how you called your friends,hello B hello and you got a million busy,signals and everybody we worry about,privacy everybody full name is,yeah and their address was always listed,how crazy is that 20 cents that's,expensive okay we were 25 so oh yeah,that's cheap and here you go and then,not if you're calling long distance and,put it this way if you were in,Mississauga you couldn't call Toronto,that was long distance,here local local area I uh,yeah,so we had a part there where we've,already cut it out guys uh there was,some nudity on the wall there so no,there you go a Little Dream theme going,on there wow what a incredible entrance,and look at this it's like a 50s diner,going on up here,wow,what do you think Albania yeah,okay so that's a 50s diner though come,on now we got Elvis on the wall,Betty Boop,there's so much hair oh Charlie Chapman,you got them all going on,oh hello,look at the outfits look at that that's,amazing uniforms all right,oh there's more out here too,oh there's a whole other room,all right well we'll try not to be so,loud I'm very loud sometimes,all right here we're going into here,look at this,look at this like a pink Cadillac,so much to look at in here I don't even,know where to start you can sit in a car,coat rack,look at that that is a seat that you,definitely want wow there's Archie yeah,she's telling me about the car I just,showed you guys because she she's not,really paying attention man look at that,we got a good seat right here,I know wow you got the seat right on the,corner second message because we're not,sitting in a car I'm gonna keep showing,around here look at What I Eat to Stay Thin at 49 yrs ~ Lunch & Dinner ~ Lose Weight

hey guys welcome back to my channel in,today's video I'm going to be sharing,with you what I'm going to have for,lunch and for dinner but before I get,started I did want to say that I am not,a nutritionist,um I feel like I have to say that,because I will always have you know just,several people in my comment section,just telling me how unhealthy I am or,how they can't believe that I would,suggest that anybody eat like this or,you know I can't believe you eat,processed foods I can't believe you eat,low-fat or fat-free cheeses or that you,eat deli meat or anything like that and,there's always going to be somebody in,my comment section ridiculing the way,that I eat so I'm here to say I'm not a,nutritionist I'm not saying that these,are the most nutritious meals in the,world they definitely have nutritional,value to them and I'm going to write,that down for you in my description box,I'm probably also going to throw up some,annotations on the screen and I'm,basically just focusing on calories fat,fiber and protein and so like I said,there is nutritional value to these,meals but but for the most part the way,that I stay thin and you know it's one,thing that I'm really good at I'm really,really good at staying thin like I feel,like we're all kind of like here on,YouTube good at something some of us are,really good storytellers or you know do,really good makeup application or you,know know everything there is to know,about skin care for me I know how to,stay thin I have been thin my entire,life I'm 49 years old before anybody,says that it's genetics it's definitely,not genetics I definitely have to watch,what I eat as a matter of fact when I,was 36 years old I was diagnosed with,Hashimoto's and um since then I have,developed hypothyroidism so I take,medication for an underactive thyroid I,take lebothyroxine you know and it's,something that I'm gonna have to take,for the rest of my life but you know,just because I have an autoimmune,disorder,um to me it's not an excuse I just have,to you know,um be a little bit more proactive about,you know the things that I put in my,mouth so anyway and I've joked with,people before or I've said you know if,you were trying to lose weight,um or if you want to maintain you know a,certain weight if you lived with me for,one full month and you ate every single,thing that I served you and you were not,allowed to cheat you were not allowed to,like eat behind my back or anything like,that and you did the light to moderate,exercise that I do every week you would,definitely definitely lose weight,because,um because I just have it down I know I,know how to,um keep the weight off so anyway one of,the things that I do is I you know I,basically take some of my favorite meals,and I you know try to create,alternatives for them using different,ingredients ingredients that are going,to remove a lot of the fat but keep the,flavor so that's just that's just what I,do so it's not always completely healthy,but like I said,um you know even with these two meals,that I'm going to be showing you today,they do have nutritional value they have,a lot of protein a lot of fiber,um lower in fat and and calories and so,anyway I feel like I just had to say,that because and I know that I'm still,going to get negative comments in my,comment section just saying like oh my,God I can't believe you eat like that,but I'm also really healthy,um you can ask my doctors maybe one day,I'll just show you all my blood work the,last time I had my blood work done my,doctor literally said he wanted to take,a picture of my blood work because my,good cholesterol levels were so high he,literally said he rarely ever sees good,cholesterol levels that High and um and,he was just really impressed by it like,he was literally patting me on the back,and so anyway my blood works really good,I'm you know I'm pretty healthy so,anyway let's go ahead and jump in and,let me show you what I'm eating for,lunch and dinner okay so this is part of,what I'm going to be having for lunch,today and I just kind of wanted to show,it to you before I popped it in the,microwave yes I am going to microwave it,and it is so delicious this right here,satisfies my craving for pizza I keep,all of the flavor and eliminate the fat,so anyway right here I've got got one of,these huge tortillas these are I guess,it's called Extreme Wellness they have,80 calories per slice 2 grams of fat 17,grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein so,they're very healthy,um one thing I love about them is that,they're really soft a lot of times when,you have something that's really high in,fiber sometimes it tends to be a little,bit more dense and less soft and these,are really soft and once you microwave,them they even get softer so I love,those on the bottom there I have some,Ragu Sauce I just have like maybe three,tablespoons of traditional sauce I have,some turkey pepperoni so that I can cut,cut back on the fat now the cheese is a,mixture of these two I've got two,percent mozzarella and t

so if you've ever driven down the 15,freeway towards Vegas or maybe back home,to SoCal you've driven by Peggy Sue's,fifties diner and I'm here with Peggy,Sue,Peggy tawny history of this place well,the history of us is my husband and I,worked at Knott's Berry Farm we met at,the bird cage theatre on the stage he,was the hero and I was the heroine of,course we got married and my husband,worked at Knott's Berry Farm for about,17 years and then we thought we wanted,to go out on our own so we moved up here,and we bought a business at Barstow,station and then this became available,it was an old diner and it had been made,into a truck stop and it was run down,and closed it was originally a home,which I'll show you later but we came,out here and it just looked like a 50s,diner it was a fifties writer so we,reopen it every firmest it ever been,here 28 years oh my goodness what when,you walk in you had that nostalgic feel,is that exactly what you were going for,absolutely absolutely wanted everything,authentic and a matter of fact I was,just looking at album pictures the other,day and when I was a teenager and,younger leaves to the long road trips,and we would stop at the world's biggest,dinosaur the California's biggest fist,or Arizona it was the Indian and I have,pictures of myself as a child standing,under the big Indian or whatever it was,always a treat to take a road trip with,your family and then get out and see,something different so I wanted a place,where families could stop the kids could,run around,my husband I have four children and we,knew it we were on a trip that they had,a lot of energy pent up sure so we made,a big park out and back for everybody to,run around and we wanted a tress stuff,like an old-fashioned tourist stop it,looks like you've accomplished that,where's hands down absolutely so before,you open the diner did you have any,restaurant experience or well we were,actors okay my husband was director of,entertainment at Knott's Berry Farm and,he was through it director of,merchandise so we had a lot of,experience with dealing with tourist,attractions and people and show business,and so we learned the restaurant,business through doing it we have a lot,of help from a lot of the food service,companies a lot of friends and we just,learned it on our own I think my husband,was about 45 and I was about 42 and we,started it and we just picked it all up,you just pick it up and here you are do,people have the same reaction as I had,cuz when we showed up I honestly didn't,know the Peggy suit look here your,there's a real peggy sound sure sure,when we bought the property,it was obviously good to be a diner,because it was a diner we were gonna fix,it up just the way it had been,originally so we thought what shall we,name it and we had a lot of ideas and we,thought of a Blueberry Hill diner who,can add a blue roof and we thought of,Maybelline's,and we thought of a lot of things and a,friend of ours said well your name is,Peggy Sue named it after yourself,I thought whoa oh oh okay okay I'd be,happy to,we didn't get Peggy soon what's the,story behind this as you walk in this we,made to replicate a movie theater,entrance the box office where you buy,your tickets for a movie theater in the,old days and this was,the movie today I got and we have Betty,Boop here of reading you to Peggy Sue's,diner,you have Elvis over there all this over,here and we will tell your fortune,oh of course it's the king of rock and,roll the king of rock'n'roll I'm curious,I'm sure I'm not the only one digging is,where do you find this stall different,places all different everything in here,came from a different place and none of,it was a bought expensively I mean it's,all there's nothing we bought at a high,price like under option or anything and,we had a lot of things that people,donate they have something one big,Marilyn picture they don't want it what,are they going to do with it the kids,bought a farm so they'll bring it in and,have a lot of donations okay interesting,Peggy said there's adding more stuff so,she's bringing something in right now,look at the Hat oh my goodness is our,newest addition I'm really I do bring,since all the time I'll show you,something a team like yesterday this is,the only Austrian crystal cheeseburger,in normal California,Irma gal avoid okay so over your,shoulder I see that this is a diner and,you were telling me that this wasn't the,original diner part know that our diner,was originally a home built in 1947 and,this was the breakfast nook of the home,in 1954 they added the bar stools and,the boots and made it a pie shop so it,was a pie shop in 1954 this was their,dining area and then I'll show you,through here where it all started well,originally when we bought the diner this,room was completely empty nothing on the,walls or anywhere but all the equipment,was in and the counter and all of that,and if,then it was a place called the Dutch,made it was a pie shop and so this was,their the Dutch made for many

if you're one of those people in the,world who celebrate Christmas you know,it's one of the most special times of,the year but we celebrate what we are,thankful for and family and friends,gather together to celebrate the love,that they have for each other Christmas,is about giving to those around us and,spreading joy and happiness into the,world but that's not the case for,everyone every year there are countless,people alone for the holidays some of,them for the first time and some of them,are alone more often than not for myself,I experienced this for the first time,last year I just moved to Vancouver in,October and I knew nobody for the first,time in my life I was completely alone,and being alone during the time where,everyone around you is spending time,with their loved ones is one of the,worst feelings you can ever have so this,year I decided to do something different,my plan is to find 20 to 30 strangers,who are all alone for the holidays this,year maybe they are a recent immigrant,who came to Canada alone or maybe there,are students and they can't afford to go,home maybe they have a bad relationship,with their family whatever the reason,may be I want to give these people a,home on Christmas this year,the thing is I don't actually know the,first thing about hosting events and,where or how I would even find these,people well there's only one way to find,out first thing on the list find the,space all right so day one of the,planning and the first thing to do is,find a space I work at a bar called,pearls and we have an event space on the,second level and it's the perfect space,it's got a kitchen it's got a full like,dining area it's got a far like seating,area so I'm actually gonna go for my,work right now and talk to my boss Kass,misty Pete say yes,all right so we are here with my boss,cast so the goal for this Christmas is I,want to bring together 20 to 30,strangers who are all alone on Christmas,and to do that I need to find a space,but I also need to find funding in terms,of funding I don't think we'll be able,to support on that side unfortunately I,think it's a great cause I think I love,what you're doing but that being said I,think the space is what we could offer,yeah that would be amazing honestly we,got the space next task to find the,guests but where do you find 30 to 40,people who are all alone for Christmas,step one make a post on Facebook my,friends and family so they can reach out,to their communities step two make a,post on Craigslist Reddit and different,Vancouver groups on Facebook especially,the new to Vancouver page step three,cause many news stations and radio shows,as I could and hopefully get some air,time and now it's just a waiting game to,see if we get any responses so at the 6,a.m. and I got an email last night from,CBC and I actually want me to come in,this morning for an interview on the,early edition the crazy thing is I,actually didn't get this interview from,any of the phone calls I made I actually,got this interview from somebody that,you guys know if you watch this channel,oh here we go we got somebody coming in,today's nice list submission comes from,Kerry hunter who has earned a spot on,your nice list it's a person who was a,stranger until he knocked on my door one,summer morning there was Brad and his,friends they offered to come into our,home and cook us dinner and now what,Christmas dinner is that next yeah last,year I was alone for Christmas and I,know that there's so many other people,in the world who are alone so I want to,create an environment for those people,to come together and are celebrating,Christmas together well cool yeah ok so,if you're having Christmas alone how can,people get a hold of you yeah send me an,email and we would love to have pioneers of the Singapore Armed Forces,past and present servicemen and,servicewomen of the SAF fellow,Singaporeans I'm very happy to be here,back on the parade square of Bastille,Ibaka,this was the original site of softie,from 1966 to 1996 where the SDF trained,its leaders and it holds many memories,for us especially all the SAF pioneers,who are here but also the rest of us,parades drills extrude rules and,commemorations the last time I was here,on this parade Square was 10 years ago,for the 40th anniversary of the SAF,doesn't seem so long ago but I suppose,we've grown a little bit older since,then and I'm very happy tonight to be,back here and connecting with many old,friends and comrades just in the few,minutes before we came in I've met a,complete chain of command people who,have commanded me a company commander,Mohammad Iqbal juliette company school,of infantry section leaders,I had a battalion commander in dripping,then major school of artillery I had I,met my old brigade commander side Hashim,al Joffrey afternoon colonel 3 SI b i,met my old chief Chandrika chief of,party,and I met my old CDF general Winston Chu,is with me tonight we salute all of them,Singapore has enjoyed 50 years of peace,it's partly because the regional,environment has been stable,the Americans have played a benign,stabilizing role in the region other,countries have not been at war but we,have also enjoyed peace because we have,a strong SAF because our ability and our,resolve to defend ourselves was never in,doubt and therefore people took us,seriously respected us and therefore we,could be friends and partners with our,neighbors and for this we have to thank,all our national servicemen the Pioneers,the regulars the NSmen the Pioneers who,answered the call of duty to defend,Singapore who served in the Singapore,volunteer corps and the vigilante Corps,which later became the PDF the pioneers,in 1 SR and 2 SR before we separated,from Malaysia and became independent,those were early days dangerous times,Konfrontasi was a live battle there were,skirmishes in our neighborhood we saw,active service but our pioneers kept us,safe and they trained the first batches,of our annasmith people like,senior Warrant Officer William we who,was then in the Singapore Naval,Volunteer Force on the front lines,during Konfrontasi,patrolling the coastline and he said we,didn't have time to worry about anything,we couldn't if you are scared to die,then why are you in uniform or captain,sam tsui Dean the king of the parade,square this one especially who's with us,this evening he joined the volunteer,corps and after we split from Malaysia,and we had to organize our first,national day parade in 1966 he had to,put together the marching contingent in,just 50 days and he drilled the troops,again and again so that on the 9th of,August 1966 as they march past the City,Hall they marched past smartly and we,cheered them with pride and he's going,to be the oldest participant has a,vintage parade on the 9th of August 2015,this year,so it was that pioneer spirit which,started off or not on this journey we,thank them,we thank our regulars who made the SAF,their careers their lives and form the,core of the SAF who enable the NS men to,build up their skills to become not just,competent soldiers but capable,formations the tunes companies,battalions brigades divisions or,squadrons and built the SAF into a,professional and a formidable fighting,force,I must especially mention the first,batch of officers who trained in OCS and,they were truly one-of-a-kind in fact,when they wrote a book about the history,they titled it one of a kind and it was,a very vivid account of their,experiences and I'm very glad that they,have published and republished a book,one of a kind for this anniversary sg50,and I think VP MPO launched it a few,months ago so I was very happy to meet,many of them the regulars and the first,batch at the SAF they played at South,DMI earlier this month one of them was,Tim D'Souza he was one of our first,fighter pilots we sent him overseas to,train in Britain he flew the hawker,hunters and he was a pioneering member,of the first Black Knights he was there,when we started the Air Force and saw,how rapidly it was built up in fact he,helped to build it up so I think our,national day when he watches the,aeroplane zoom pass I hope it'll bring,back many fond memories,I'd like to thank the many generations,of national servicemen who sweated it,out,train hard served full-time national,service and served in the operational,reserve national service operationally,ready national service and especially,the early batches who started the ball,rolling when we implemented NS in 1967,the training was tough the conditions,were often far from ideal but they took,it in their stride they told their,family and friends when they went home,it was a hard life but a good life I,just met one of them this let me paint a little picture for you,you go to a steakhouse you're with,another person maybe your wife your,lover your bff you order a couple steaks,and a couple vegetable sides the bill,comes back and it's 250,for that no but what if i told you we,could do it for this price,right here that is but cheaper,one quick note before we start i have to,tell you i was featured on harper,bazaar's food diaries where like lil,yachty went on there and he was like,here's everything i eat in a day or,binging with babish went on there he's,like here is everything i eat in a day,i'm on there i was featured and there,will be a link in the description to,watch it so if you're ever wondering,what,papa eats in a day aside from all the,other crazy stuff like a regular day,today,click the link in the description and,enjoy anyway onward with the video i,want to make sure that i have what i'm,saying,backed up with a factuality with facts,so,let's go to a steakhouse and uh figure,this out we're on the way to,uh on a steakhouse well we'll order two,steaks and a couple sides i'm expecting,it to be,over the 200 marker at the end of the,day a reasonable meal,you know sometimes we want to go out and,splurge and that's totally fine,steakhouse is totally fine,i'm just presenting the idea of is it,worth this price,okay we're done we ate it was actually,not bad the food was actually pretty,good,we got two steaks we got three sides i,wanted to get normal asparagus they,brought out fried asparagus whatever it,is what it is the total price,was 222 and then plus tip,obviously you got to give it at least a,decent tip so fifty dollar tip so the,total comes out to 272.45,okay signed truly yours,oh king i understand a restaurant's,always gonna be more expensive but like,you got three vegetable sides,and two steaks for almost three hundred,dollars,i think we could do better than that,okay so we're back,you see what i mean right like you guys,understand where i'm coming from with,this you've got like steamed asparagus,hollandaise very basic stuff a steak,cooked with a little bit of butter,and and that's it the astronomical price,is i don't know why people still think,that this is worth it look the,restaurants that i've worked at the,restaurants that i've been to,for that same dollar amount you could,have a completely different more intense,more culinary experience probably for a,little less,so with all that said let's do this,shall we okay so we're gonna do our best,to keep the price as low as possible,without skipping on too many of the,classic ingredients but given what we're,competing with,i don't think that'll be too hard first,things first we need to get our mashed,potatoes,mashed get three pounds of yukon gold,potatoes peel the skins off of each regulars NSmen and NSF from the SAF and,the home team distinguished guests,ladies and gentlemen I'm delighted to be,here with you this evening under this,tent in the pouring rain,we are here to celebrate NS fifty fifty,years of national service this floating,platform in the heart of the city is a,particularly appropriate location to,celebrate NS 15 the brain of a skyline,reminds us of all we have built together,and what we fight to defend this is also,where SAF PMT recruits and the final 24,km route March and hold the passing of,parade a significant and emotional,milestone for NSF and the families it's,been especially for the fathers who went,through NS themselves and now witness,their sons undergoing this rite of,passage,since Ennis started in 1967 more than a,million Singaporeans have served the SCS,and the home team for their national,service your contributions and,sacrifices have enabled Singaporeans to,enjoy decades of peace and a safe and,secure home we have had the good fortune,not to fight a war in the last 50 years,but that is not just a matter of life,our deterrence is credible and it has,worked the earth air is taken seriously,its well-trained well-equipped and,technologically up-to-date others know,that our n s men are willing to serve,and when the time comes ready to fight I,visited an infantry battalion in the, Brunei earlier this month I,watched the soldiers mainly NSF's going,through their paces in the jungle they,were fit trained and serious the,battalion will soon be taking part in an,annual bilateral exercise with,Indonesian TNI as part of celebrating 50,years of diplomatic relations with,Indonesia I'm confident that it will,equip themselves well,the home team continues to keep,Singapore safe the police work hard to,maintain law and order daily and are,prepared to deal with any threat our,crime rates are low and yet we do not,have large numbers of policemen visible,everywhere the terrorist threat is a,grave one but our security forces are,vigilant and prepared to deal with an,attack when it comes recently The,Economist magazine rated Singapore's the,second safest city city in the world to,live in,just after Tokyo similarly our SCDF is,competent and professional they respond,to all types of emergencies big and,small and they do this not just when war,comes but every day in peacetime,round-the-clock there are a source of,comfort because they are there for us at,the time of our greatest need,all three yes here yes here and the SCDF,depend on a mix of regulars NSF and,NSmen,and without NSF and NS meant to serve,willingly take the training seriously,and perform operational duties they are,today the assayer the SPF or the acedia,would not exist but because regulars and,NSmen in the SAF and home team have done,their duty Singapore has enjoyed peace,and security,businesses are prepared to invest in,Singapore for the long term people to,feel safe and confident Singaporeans and,foreigners are happy not just to work,here but also to raise their families,here,fifty-two years ago when we sell,separated from Malaysia we could not be,at all sure that this is how things,would turn out we had to build up the,SAF from scratch and quickly because we,were small with few resources and no,manpower to spare our founding leaders,decided that national service was the,only way to build up a Defence Force but,they had to work hard to explain this to,Singaporeans,to convince every able-bodied male,citizen to serve to persuade parents -,many of whom were most reluctant to have,their son spent 2 to 3 years being,soldiers and also wives who had to take,care of their homes and employers who,had to make alternative arrangements,when staff and units were called up for,income training,fortunately Singaporeans understood the,urgency and gave their support,over the years Singaporeans have,accepted national service it's become a,national institution a rite of passage,Singaporean males regardless of race,religion or social background served two,years of national service and these two,years are defining experience NSS where,boys grow up to become men forging bonds,that lasts for life through blood sweat,and tears and that's why years after Ord,many of us still make time to meet up,with our NS buddies and feel joyful when,we bump into old comrades even now it,happens to me every so often when I'm,attending an event or just taking a walk,somewhere someone will come up to greet,me and remind me that we did be empty or,OCS together or served in the same unit,and you'll name a unit or camp or an,officer we had served with and the years,would melt away and vivid memories would,come flooding back and tonight I'm happy,that we will be meeting some of my own,artillery comrades as we say once a gana,always the gunner,and I'm sure mine will not be the only,reunion tonight because many of you will,be also meeting up with all coverlets as,well Singapore is much better defendant,now than when we started out 50 years,ago but we will always be
