in today's video i'm going to be sharing with you,exactly how it is i planned my 30th dinner soiree in a way that is one cost,effective two super super simple three way that provides you the let the least,stress possible so that you can enjoy your big,day all right let's go ahead and get into this video,Que Pasa Beast fam welcome to another episode here at Sloan the Beast,my name is Sloan, mother of beast and on my channel i post all things,minimalism for big families. in today's video i'm going to be sharing,how i planned my 30th birthday on a budget so to make this arrangement,what i did is i ordered some neutral colored cardstock,from michaels they were actually a hot spot uh deal or hot buy deal so i got it,at five dollars and what i did is i first fan folded the,paper as you can see i'm doing here and then i,went ahead and i cut it in a almost like a sphere like shape,and once that was cut i then went and cut every other fold so the inner,indentation i went ahead and i cut that and then,once that was complete i cut little squares,so that it would create that kind of um that opening so once i was done i,actually used some wheat that i had left over from,last season i just hot glued the folds so that they,wouldn't go anywhere um i actually at first was going to buy,chicken wire because the other diys that i'd seen online that did,something similar um they had chicken wire however when i,was looking through my storage i really didn't want to spend more money than i,needed to i found this little basket that i used,to use for my bathroom it was amongst the stuff that i had brought over from,storage so i decided to just use that and i used,a fishing wire to hold everything in place and i just started layering,and layering until it looked good once all of,the bottom was complete all of my um palm trees if you will my foliage,were complete then at that point i started adding flowers i did pick up,about ten dollars worth of flowers they were,seventy percent off at michael's and um i decided to go with these huge,white peonies which i feel like really popped and i added two of my pompa,graphs and that completed my background,arrangement it came out so beautiful i really feel like it complements my,dining space so i've just kind of left it as you can see,right over here in order to prepare for my party what i did,is i separated everything into sections if you will i'm kind of an itinerary,style so i said okay what am i gonna do for my,photo ops,so my photo ops i actually ordered these tan,balloons from amazon i will link that down below it just it's a whole kit,and it really came in handy because now i have these nails and i knew i would,not be able to do very much so thank goodness my sister,came and she helped me and so she would blow up the balloons,while i would just place them and to put them up it was super super,easy i used command hooks to put up everything as well which is another tip,for you don't go um nailing things to your wall use,command hooks a lot of the stuff is pretty lightweight like this arrangement,is very lightweight that way you're not ruining your walls,so i went ahead i put that up super easy to,do and kept it trucking when it came to the,table settings i actually made more of those,fans and instead of using them for the arrangement i actually decided i,would use them as decor for my for my plating so i put each on,top of the plating i did have these huge ikea mugs that were gifted to me,and i went ahead and i bought some champagne,glasses they were plastic from um target and then the placemats you've,seen in my boho home decor just added those in there and my mom had,bought me this burlap a running table runner which i,used as well then because my table is wood i use,the coasters that you guys also saw in my boho home decor,so when it came to the punch i wanted to have sangria is,my favorite drink but i wanted to have a virgin sangria,i am still breastfeeding and my family does not drink alcohol,so i did a virgin sangria with apple juice,orange juice grape juice you mix up about,a third of each of the juices until you fill up your,your um your picture so once you fill up your pitcher,then you could either add the fruit beforehand i just added everything the,night before so tip go ahead and prep everything the,night before your party if you have that accessibility i have,learned that i do best when i host my parties in my,home or in the past i have rented vacation,homes because i have more control over the space i can,prep everything the night before and then the day of i really just have,last minute things to take care of i can get dressed with,a little more ease i know where everything is i can control the,environment a lot better and i just feel like the day of,it's so much easier,then i used a sparkling water lime flavor,which for me added that spiciness and that fizz,but it also gave it a little bit more taste so i just let that sit overnight,and hey guys welcome back to my channel so,today's the day of my birthday party,i'm so excited i'm tired if you can't,tell,um it's like 7 30 in the morning i,didn't go to bed until like two,um but yeah i want to go ahead and get,everything going,get everything put up so i won't have to,be rushing um so the theme of this party,is like,it was supposed to be botanical garden,type of paint and set party,i wanted it outside with a lot of like,greenery and floral,stuff like that but it's supposed to be,like 60 degrees so we can do that so,we're gonna bring it inside,um but excuse me um but i'm gonna you,know make the best of it because i mean,i'm not gonna let,things get me down we're gonna keep,moving um,but i'm gonna show you guys everything,that i got and,how i'm gonna set up everything,rearrange my furniture and my great room,so stay tuned now this,i'm super excited about this this is,like a bubble,champagne holder i got this from,etsy this right here got from amazon,it's gonna be,my paint apron so everybody won't get,their clothes dirty,i'm going to show you guys that later,over here i got this from,etsy this is it says pebble,happy birthday pebbles it's like going,to be my birthday,cake topper um of course,that's gonna cut the cake,over here i have a friend who,is a painter so i asked him to stencil,me,a painting of like a queen so that's,what he did i got,14 one two three four five six seven,fourteen i got 14 of these these i got,some,extra um floral,arrangements to hang on my,greenery my boxwood greenery because it,just wasn't as full as what i wanted it,to be,got those from amazon over here i got,this,from target what i'm gonna do,well i'm gonna tell you guys that later,we're gonna put this to the side so,these are the aprons they only i think,came in a pack of six so i had to do,two packs um from amazon,this is the easel,that i got from amazon as well,um that we're gonna place the canvases,on i got these because i still wanted,the party to be i didn't really want to,do plastic,or clear plastic um dinnerware,i got these from amazon i love the,goldness,of it um trash,this over here i love,a nice centerpiece so i got this floral,garland from,amazon i'm gonna put two tables together,two six feet tables together so i had to,get two garlands,i got the two tablecloths,and then i got this to go,this other tablecloth,type of what is this,sheer i want to say to go,in like what is that called the middle,of the table,liner maybe a table table liner,i don't know but this is going to go,under the garland,this is going to be the tablecloth for,the dessert bar,i really hope i got enough,i really don't feel like i got enough um,paint brushes for 14 people,but they don't have to learn how to,share so,i got this from amazon this is where i'm,going to put the paint in,amazon um the paint,amazon i hope i have enough,well they gonna share so it's gonna be,enough and then here,this is a vibe this is going to be,outside,um it says welcome to pebbles 30th,birthday party i'm gonna put that on the,easel,i got the easel from amazon i got the,frame from michaels and then i got,the template um or the picture or,whatever you want to call it,from etsy and i got it printed out at,office depot so what i'm going to do i'm,going to place this outside of my door,like the walkway um in the walkway,so when people pull up like they kind of,know like oh this is where the party is,at,um and then i'm going to blow up the 30,balloons and i'm going to hang,the balloons behind the frame i think,that's going to be very cute,okay so this is the photo backdrop i,really wish i would have got some more,white flowers,um i'm going to post a video later of,how,you know me and my mother set this up,and if we come over here,this is where we are going to paint,silk eat all that fun stuff,and then we have london over here,setting up the dessert table,supposedly we don't know i didn't,witness her,do that um,we have my friends taking shots we got,the chef,over here getting going,so yeah so stay tuned it's about to be a,a vibe,so when everybody arrived they started,painting,and i gave everyone a piece of paper,that said do you know,the birthday girl i got this from etsy,i printed it off they had to answer,questions whoever got the most,questions they got a 10,chick-fil-a gift card um,um,a car,what i got,um,get closer get closer to the table,oh he ain't never gonna go,we ain't never made it,thank you so what is this here it's a,float orange butter sauce,okay perfect thank you,happy birthday to,you happy birthday to,you,happy hi welcome back to Shaniqua today I'm,going to show you how to play your very,own adult birthday party,viy party planning has been very hot on,the market I know that you guys have,seen some really nice pictures and,videos from people planning their own,birthday parties are planning one for,someone else and I just want to let you,know that if it's extremely easy I'm,gonna break it down to you guys step by,step so go ahead and grab a pen and a,piece of paper and come on so if he,wants ago I posted a video of how to,plan your very own baby shower and I,also broke that down step by step is,will I'm gonna be using those same steps,because I use them myself and they've,proven to be extremely helpful so,starting with step one it's always,important to plan on your budget first,and the reason that we do that is,because you could go out to a store or,you'll see something that you like and,you'll just start picking it up and then,you probably won't views it so if you,have a budget in place you allocate your,money as to where it should go so this,will go for food this will go for decor,this will go for drinks this will go for,game having that set out already will,help you out in the long run one way,that I like to do it is set it up on a,per person basis now this does not mean,that that person will consume that,amount of money just by being present at,your party it just means the scale of,the party will have to be at a certain,rate for them on the lower end of the,scale you're looking at about $50 to $80,per person in the mid-range you're,looking at about a hundred to $150 a,person and then on the higher range,you're looking at about $200 per person,and up so if you weren't invited 25,people to your birthday party it'll cost,you $1,250 to do now this is the the,lower range and whenever you think about,decor when you think about food drinks,and all that stuff it really does add up,especially during this time just having,that that budget in mind whenever you're,allocating is really really important my,29th birthday I had a Starbucks themed,party,and I made sure that I said everything,up just the way that I'm telling you,guys it was step by step I started with,a budget and I you know allocated my,funds in the way that I wanted to do it,and it turned out amazing I'm gonna post,pictures right now to show you how it,was we had the cookies we had the cake I,found little articles of decor just,anywhere I went I hired a professional,balloon artist and she came and she set,up the balloons in my house for a photo,backdrop and also just little balloon,bouquets around my apartment I did have,it in my apartment I don't have carpet,in my apartment so it was just it was,feels perfect it was a perfect modern,apartment I did not have to purchase a,venue or anything like that if you are,purchasing a venue I would definitely,say that you'll need to upscale the the,per person rate I would definitely not,have have to rent out a venue for the,lower end of the budget like around the,50 to 80 people $80 per person you'll,want to come up on that budget to about,100 to $150 a person or even more than,that if you're going to accommodate the,venue venues are expensive and not only,that you have to deck them out to make,them not look like an empty space step,two will be to formulate your guest list,make sure that if you tell yourself,you're only going to buy 25 people do,not go over that guest count if you know,of someone who may try to invite,somebody else make sure that you put in,your invitations that it is strictly you,know just them that you're inviting or,if you want to add them a plus-one you,can do that but make sure that you,change those numbers on your on your,guest list as well step three will be to,decide on the food and drink food and,drink is something that should not be,just looked over for example you,wouldn't serve pizza at a wedding unless,that's just you know your thing that you,want to do,think about the way that you want your,d'accord are you going for a more,upscale vibe or you going for more,laid-back just chill type of vibe like,what are you doing and make sure that,your food mimics that you don't want to,lower the scale of your event based off,the food that you're providing as far as,the drinks go I'm a proponent on making,sure that you have some sort of,alcoholic beverage available there are,people saying that we don't need alcohol,to have a good time I totally get that,if you're that person kudos to you but I,do know of people a lot of people of me,as an event planner and other people who,needs just that little bit of extra,something to to to become more,comfortable with their environment and,it's not that they're dependent on,alcohol hey whenever I go to a party and,I'm trying to relax this is how I relax,so you providing that for that person I,think that they'll be grateful for that,of course if you know it gives your,religion or or anything like that and,it's not something that you want to do,then that's you like I can

blogger,i am a teacher i am a whole lot of,things,but my number one passion is definitely,event planning,everything that i go through in my life,i always re-center myself around,being creative and helping people plan,the best events thank you for all the,love on my other videos where i'm,sharing with you guys different tips,on how to plan your own baby shower how,to plan your own adult,birthday party today we're talking about,the things that you're not,going to do see what you're not gonna do,is those things,plan plenty of weddings plenty of,birthdays celebrations and things like,that,and there are a few things that made me,go,i'm going to show you guys what those,things are so go ahead and grab a pen,and paper so you'll know when not to do,sis,the very first thing that you need to,stop doing is overly,decorating okay i know that you are the,diy,princess or king or whatever you want to,call yourself and you have,all these little projects up your sleeve,but you do not have to splay them all,out at one,party think minimal think quality over,quantity i'm gonna post a few pictures,to show you exactly what i'm talking,about,use your space as the decoration you,don't have to put,everything out there for everyone to see,at one party,maybe you're really good at making,centerpieces and you want to make these,huge extravagant centerpieces for one,party,and you want to really focus on the,place settings at another party you,don't have to do,all of it at one party or else it's,going to really start to look like,an over-the-top wedding or worse it'll,look like an event that's way too,crowded,now you guys y'all have to stop using,these people houses as,event venues unless it is stated,explicitly on,airbnb that parties are welcome do not,have parties in people's homes,i've seen on a lot of airbnbs where,people are,practically begging their club their,customers to not have parties in their,homes these people are getting very,strict some people are using noise,monitors they also have neighbors who,are told hey,call the police or or call security if,these people have,a party in my home uh just imagine,someone coming to your house,and they throw a party like you wouldn't,do that with your own home you wouldn't,want people to do that in your own home,so don't do that unless you have their,permission they do,tell you a lot of the times whether they,will allow parties or not,um most mansions in large venues will,allow parties i mean that's what,what that's usually what they're for for,people who are planning uh to have a,wedding or something like that,definitely,ask but if it is if it is explicitly,stated on the airbnb,don't even bother asking i'm pretty sure,they're tired of telling people no,and as a recommendation to that you can,always ask a relative,ask a family member i ended up having my,29th birthday in my apartment it was a,really nice apartment it was modern,and i was able to make it look really,nice like i moved the furniture out of,the living room,except maybe one or two pieces and i,really decorated the space and the floor,and everything turned out really well so,you'll be surprised how much space you,really have,in your home or maybe in a relative's,place maybe backyard,living room something like that or you,can also,rent out a hotel room some hotels you,know they don't really want it very loud,in there also,um but if you get maybe the large suite,on the top floor,um of the hotel or you even,rent out a personal space even if it's,not that big,a lot of hotels are accommodating to,those needs another thing you should,stop doing,is shopping all of your decor at dollar,tree or walmart,i would even throw michaels in there uh,try to mix and match,first of all and this really kind of,ties into,doing way too much with the decorations,think minimal think what can be used we,know that we have to use glasses you,know that you want maybe a candle,display,you know that you want florals think,about those things without going way,over the top with the diy projects i,know that tick tock and pinterest is,like calling your name,and you want to go all out and make all,of your decorations,but again when you overly do that it,really,kind of makes the place feel stuffy,and it just looks really homemade so try,to steer clear of those,um especially mixing glasses with,plastic try to stick with one thing,whether that be something,real like glass metal that sort of thing,or you can go with disposable things but,i would only do that,honestly if i were outdoors and they,looked really nice,another recommendation is to have your,party at a restaurant i went to a really,nice party at an upscale restaurant,and the only thing that the birthday,girl had to bring,were balloons and she brought some,really huge balloons shout out to,shatera with posh balloons,

things for,the dinner so,once i get out of here,we shall go from there,i think that'll work oh yeah that's,gonna be pretty,yeah but that's gonna be really pretty,you like that,oh that's gonna blend really nice,okay,all right you guys so that was a very,very very very very quick intro,but i'm on the move we got a lot of,stuff to do today so,um,we just left out a hobby lobby i know i,showed y'all the flowers on the ground,um not ground on the floor,but i decided to go with just the light,ones because i already have some like,hot pink and soft pink flowers to go,inside the bases and i don't know i just,feel like it's gonna be,a little off kevin thinks it's gonna,match perfectly but i left them if i,have to come back i can because hobby,lobby's not that far away,but now we're at target because i gotta,run in here and get a couple things so,i can't even tell y'all what i gotta get,because i gotta look at my list but we,about to get,into target and get this out of the way,and then after target,we gotta go to the liquor store so,let's go away we'll do it so,we just pulled up to cvs she's scared,i'm about to go in here and get this,coming test and i am scared,kevin says it's not as bad as it used to,be that the q-tip is like this long so,we gonna see if you know what he's,talking about but y'all i am scared i've,never had a covert test this is my first,time,getting a cover test and,if it goes well i really hope,that the testing in cancun because,that's where we're going i really hope,the testing in cancun,is,like this if this is easy but,only y'all wish me luck cause i'm gonna,go in here,and hopefully it's not so bad that i'd,be like i'm not going on my trip,cause kevin gonna leave me because he,gonna go i'm going,i'm out let me go,we go we go,all right y'all let me go in here,are you very proud of your birthday for,me um yes 7 23 93.,it's gonna hurt,he said yeah,i thought i said it hurt,also,okay,you may not read without your nails,right,rate,okay,level,yeah because i needed to,get salmon the steaks,and green beans some of the stuff for,tomorrow but i am finally back at my,parents house we are getting ready to,set up everything well my mom is going,to relax a little bit she just got home,but i'm about to show you guys,everything that we're going to be,transforming for,my dinner and then i'll try to explain,it to you guys the best i can,but then after that i'm going to just,prop you guys up and let y'all see what,i'm doing and we get ready to transform,this room you guys so where i'm standing,at right now is the foyer area so,we're going to to share with you all the,DIYs that I created for my personal,intimate dinner celebration so if you,are interested in seeing the different,things that I did for my event please,continue to watch the first DIY that I,created was my welcome sign I'm reusing,a chalkboard that I already had and I,had a vinyl on it previously so here I'm,just wiping down the surface with,alcohol to make sure that there's no,sticky residue left on the board I've,already pre-cut my image and I'm so,sorry that you guys can't see exactly,what I'm doing since it's white on white,on white Cricut recently changed their,backing from blue to white so I,apologize for that however I do have,many other vinyl transfer videos on my,channel so I will definitely leave link,to those more detailed tutorials in the,description box down below and for this,project I am using contact paper as my,transfer paper however it definitely,isn't my favorite Cricut transfer tape,is definitely better than this but for,this large-scale project it was,definitely more cost effective and it,did do the job it just took a little bit,longer for me to transfer the vinyl on,to the contact we burn,okay so I want to share with you all how,I apply images that were larger than the,12 width that you're allowed to cut with,your Cricut machine by using the slice,tool I'm gonna do a more detailed,tutorial on how to actually create,large-scale items with your Cricut,machine and cut them out with vinyl but,as you guys can see here I'm just lining,up the two different sheets together to,make it seem as though it was one a,seamless cut,you,so I wanted to jazz up my welcome sign a,little more so I took some flowers and I,removed the stems from them and I'm,going to be hot gluing them in a,cascading pattern down the left corner,the reason you can cut off the stem is,because you want the flower to be as,flat as possible and then you're just,gonna put a big dollop of hot glue on,the back and then hold it in place until,it dries on your welcome sign you,definitely want to play around with your,flowers a bit too before you adhere,everything just to kind of make sure,it's exactly where you want it to be and,to know that your vision is gonna come,out looking the way you want it to,before you permanently glue it down with,hot glue,for my second DIY these are the things,that I use the spray adhesive is,optional because you could use Mod Podge,in its place and these are the images,that I found of me and my friends and,family just makes me so happy looking at,it so what you're gonna do is you're,going to flip your image over and you're,gonna put spray adhesive on it with a,even coat or you could use double stick,tape or you could actually use Mod Podge,for the step as well and then you're,going to line it up inside of your frame,and stick it down and as you guys can,see here with the spray adhesive once,you put it down that is where it's going,to stay,for the second step you're going to need,your foam brush and your Mod Podge and,you're just gonna put a thin layer all,over your picture from corner to corner,this is also going to further assist,your image to be adhere to the back it's,just kind of gonna seal everything,together which is exactly what you want,and in between layers you're gonna allow,it to sit for 15 minutes it dries pretty,fast before applying your next layer,honestly after one layer I could have,been finished but I ended up doing three,layers just to get a more textured matte,look which is what I was going for so,the hardest part of this entire project,was actually finding images with my,friends and my family I had to go back,to my space days for some of these,pictures I know a lot of people are like,you still have your login girl I had to,recover it and all but I'm so happy that,I was able to find some of these,pictures because I wanted the pictures,to be good memories that we've had,whether they were ten years ago or five,days ago and so I was so happy that I,was able to find images with everyone,that was in attendance at my birthday,dinner after drying this is what the,frames looked like I absolutely love the,way that they came out I was so pleased,with them,the third DIY project that I created,were my centerpieces here I have a 5x5 a,cylinder vase that I have put floral,foam in as well as lined it with some,birch ribbon I also have these beautiful,flowers hair that I have in pink white,and wine to go ahead and create my,floral arrangement the stems on these,flowers have been cut down to about five,or six inches tall I purchased a,majority of my supplies for my floral,arrangements from a warehouse that is,locally here in Boston however some of,the flowers I did purchase from Michaels,and you definitely can find the bees and,they even recently started carrying,different ribbon w

you guys oh my goodness so good morning,first of all,so tell me why,remember how i got the nutribullet like,a one or two blocks ago okay well i was,making myself a juice,all of a sudden i always make never really thought,or picture myself as a 30 year old as a,40 year old as a 50 year old,but now that i'm 30 i'm well i'm about,to be 30 in four days,but now that i'm about to be 30 and four,days i'm like oh my god like,time really does go by really fast like,i was literally just,in high school and then i was literally,just in college,and then i was literally just pla like,doing crossfit,forever and now i'm literally just doing,youtube,so it kind of makes me sad to know that,different phases of your life and and,that you'll someday look back,and be like oh man i remember when that,was happening,but it makes me happy to know that i can,record them and i can have them and,it kind of makes me more aware of,enjoying,my days now who i spend my time with,who i share my presence my
