Forty Niner Aiea | Lemon Ricotta Pancakes | Bacon | Breakfast

hey guys uh welcome to,food feed today i went to get some,awesome breakfast,i've always passed by this place in,order to get onto the freeway,um it's called the 49er it's been there,for ages and you can totally tell by the,building,and the um the inside if you ever did,eat in there,the chairs and everything it gives you,back like an old school,hawaii feel to it so if you're wondering,what the 49er,serves they serve pretty much plate,lunches but they also have burgers fries,and simon,i've only been there once i've tried,their banana pancakes before they're,delicious but,i did remember trying their pork lechon,and i wasn't really a fan to be honest,um but you know to each their own i'm,sure their other,stuff is great because they've been in,business for a long time and they always,have a line outside now that it's take,out you can see the line wrap around and,especially on saturdays and sundays,everybody goes there so,even with covid we tried to eat there i,think like two weeks ago,and we couldn't even find parking in,their little lot,so on the weekends you might want to,avoid,unless you go there super early because,um,it's like a mad house there for,breakfast anyway,they had their special that they've been,doing for a while since,the lockdown for takeout they have the,lemon,ricotta pancakes and i'm not even a,lemon,fan for desserts unless you make it,really well but,it just sounded really good with the,ricotta,um i don't know it was always on their,menu it's on a big blackboard i wasn't,able to take a picture of it today but,when you pass by and you're stuck at the,stoplight there,you can read it from your car so i,always saw it and wanted to try it,so it is huge unfortunately it does not,come with any side of meat so you have,to order,your side of meat for extra,so i got a side of bacon,can't do pancakes without bacon and it,looks,nice and crispy so they made that well,comes with an array of awesome fresh,looks like blackberries and strawberries,and raspberries,and also blueberries so that's amazing,uh,i assume the top is the ricotta cream,well dig in,it's already got syrup on it and,everything too so they don't give you,a side of syrup to put on,the lemon taste isn't too aggressive,that's what i don't like about certain,lemon dishes so i can do this this is,nice,get some berries here blueberry and a,strawberry,looks like they also sprinkled some,powdered sugar on it,it's good,the pancakes are a little dense though,i'm not as fluffy,i don't know if they mix the ricotta,cheese in it as well,but it doesn't bother me it's pretty,good i mean the taste is good,just a faint hint of sweetness,yummy try some bacon here,big pieces of bacon,bacon's cooked nice and crisp it's not,like,flappy and soggy i don't like that if,it's undercooked,the fruits are super fresh,not a fan of raspberries though they're,super tart but,if you are there are fresh raspberries,they're not frozen or anything,the lemon is actually very very faint,um so if you're a big fan of lemon,desserts it might be,a little too faint for you but it's,perfect for me,they also have ube pancakes i was kind,of teeter-tottering on that,but i eat too much ube stuff so i wanted,to try something different which is why,i picked this,as far as service,the girl that answered the phone,and worked the front it's very very,friendly and,patient very,what would you say cheery like happy,which is nice,so when i phone ordered my food i was in,line i was on,i was the second person in line and for,some reason right when i got there,i think a whole line of one two four,more people,came and they had to stand right behind,me so it was pretty crowded,i mean they were doing really well which,is good to see,so these pancakes are super huge i,thought they're gonna be just regular,sized,and it doesn't really tell you how many,you get so you get two pancakes but,these are,super huge and they're thick so there's,no way i'm gonna finish this,i'll try my best to finish the top but,that's probably not gonna happen because,these are pretty dense,they're also like a little doughy,so if that bothers you you might not,want to get these,okay i'm pretty full so i'm gonna have,one more piece of bacon,and i'm done,if you're not a big eater like me you,could probably share this,because the two pieces of pancakes are,huge,i'm pretty much um left over with,just a little piece of the top and some,of the berries that i don't really care,for,i didn't know it was going to come with,berries so um,like i said not a fan of blackberries or,raspberries,ate all the strawberries though and the,blueberries that was you really yummy,but if you're a fan of raspberries or,blackberries,that's good because they they're really,generous with all the this fresh fruit,that people that like berries,i think you'll enjoy this,so we'll go over the price,so the lemon ricotta pancakes for two,big pancakes with the ricotta,cream and all the berries 10.95,quite an expensive breakfast but i can't,finish it it's pretty huge,th

doing a brunch special episode for,you guys,since you guys love the first one so,much so we did button up cafe it's also,another locally owned and run family,restaurant,very good very hidden gem ish it's,located right on kamehameha highway,pearl city,right before waipahu i guess oh actually,it is in waipahu,yeah guys we found a nice park to eat,too and it is tier three,so eating at the park is okay there's a,lot of other families finally,being able to have their barbecues and,picnics out so,that's always a good thing so it's a,nice sign it's a lovely day and what,better way,to compliment a sunny day than to have,eggs bene oh yeah,super excited to show you guys all the,food we got like hawaii fashion as usual,it's starting to drizzle,but we're going to start eating because,we're so excited this place is like,amanda said one of our favorites,it's pretty low-key so i got the braised,short rib,eggs benedict and today they were out of,their like country fried potatoes or as,they call it their potato hash,so i ended up getting some fried rice,and as you guys know,hawaii is known for having local style,fried rice so,i had to get that what did you get and i,got the corned beef and hash,it looks a little more dry than normal,but we'll see and i got it with over,easy eggs,and usually the country style potatoes,but they're out,so we got tater tots with that yeah i,feel like i should have got the tater,tots instead but we,weren't really thinking when we ordered,but we'll just share anyway so,yeah you guys know how we do one of each,i mean as long as amanda doesn't finish,it all,i've had this short rib before and,honestly it's one of my favorite eggs,benedicts that i've ever had,so i definitely had to show you guys and,yes we are in the park so there are,bugs which you guys know that i hate but,i'm gonna try to,power through this cheers all right,what short ribs eggs benny,look how,and i love that they use like a huge,thick piece of,short rib and guys this is very tender,because it's braised and the flavor is,so,good it's kind of like a korean style,that they say sure,fried rice it's kobi's short rib,kawabi style short ribs guys it's a more,foster but it's worth it,so meaty sweet some saltiness to them,the hollandaise sauce to make it extra,creamy the eggs is not as runny as we,wanted but you know it is like a 30,minute drive from town to here so a,little bit on the,more done side but yeah so good guy the,flavors are all there,and look at this fried rice there's even,portuguese sausage huge pieces of bacon,this is the first time we're trying,their fried rice so,the fried rice is really good,oh yeah definitely local style i don't,know if you guys have,portuguese sausage in the mainland but,here it's a really big thing it's pretty,much portuguese style,like spicy sausage kind of like an,italian,spicy sausage but not really and then,here we eat it for breakfast,i don't know how to explain that it's,hard to explain because we just grew up,eating it all our lives you know,portuguese s

for today's video we are heading down to,queen street cafe,honestly this looks bomb i'm excited to,try it out like for real,i'm literally i'm literally mind blown,that is not this is not for our dessert,we chose to go to ice garden,and you know this place is very very,local honestly it's a childhood favorite,as well amongst us locals here on oahu,aloha foodies and welcome back to the,channel so for today's video we are,heading down to queen street cafe and,we're getting some awesome plate lunches,with you guys and can't wait to show you,guys everything,and if you're new here i'm amanda and,that's felix and we are a locally,born and raised couple here on oahu and,we're taking you guys along to all of,our foodie adventures,and before we get into today's video,make sure you hit that and let's just,say these plates are,heavy i mean i've gotten stronger over,the,weeks of you know plate lunch curling so,i can,do single handed plate lunch curls now,but yeah look at this baby look at these,my plate was so,big that they needed a rubber band to,hold it open it just it won't even close,you guys it's crazy,literally they had to use a retention,device to hold that,thing down man his arms are getting,tired already we haven't even started,yet,so first things first guys we went to,queen street cafe located in aiea,if you're unaware of aiea it's more like,the,is it central oahu anyway,this is an ayah it's like maybe from,waikiki it's like a 15,20 minute drive but it's known amongst,the local population here,and honestly this looks bomb i'm excited,to try it out like for real uh yeah,there's no slouch guys there's uh some,foodie places here and the place we went,to today is called queen street cafe,they used to be in located in honolulu,area,on queen street which is hence the name,queen street cafe but,they're now here and we have been,waiting to eat this again,guys literally my fork looks like it's,gonna break from holding up this chicken,remember like i said,unofficial chicken morsel capital of the,world look at that bamboocho of a,chicken,guys oh my goodness so i got the,firecracker chicken with,smoked pork guava smoked pork so my,plate is actually a combo plate it's,firecracker chicken which is this,the guava smoked pork and i got mac,salad potato mac salad with white rice,and what did you get so i got the fried,pork chop with mushroom and onions some,cavi smoked and grilled,steak pieces oh man i'm excited for this,and they're famous,pork adobo fried rice like i mean guys,there's chunks of pork adobo in here,that's worth it it was a dollar upgrade,for it and you also have to sacrifice a,side,so that's something to note if you're,going to upgrade from regular rice or,starch to fried rice it's going to be a,dollar charge and you sacrifice,aside so i don't have mac style in mind,but you know,i'll take some of my man this one okay,let's grind this guys,oh man i can hear that crunch from here,whoa,all right you go first babe this,barbecue chicken is firecracker,damn did you even take a bite there's,still this much left there's pretty much,a fried chicken,that they battered and fried and then on,top they put like some kind of spicy,mayo,with the thai chili sauce is it thai,chili sauce,thai sweet chili sauce i was gonna say i,can see chili flakes on here,that spicy mayo drizzed all over she,already took a bite guys and look,look how much more meat there is left on,here,i like how they they even have the skin,in here,that sauce though there's green onions,on there as well,good job,another mouthful of flavor nice moist,chicken morsels,a light bit of crunch it's not overly,crunchy guys but mix up for it in flavor,there's a lot of sauce on it,oh good if you like sweet and spicy,flavors with some creaminess in it,definitely get that firecracker chicken,the pork adobo fried rice i didn't get a,chance to describe but,it's like you kind of get that sweet and,savoriness of the pork adobo which is,like filipino,simmered pork yeah or braised pork,oh yeah you know look at that fried up,with some of that the braised from the,adobo,into the rice oh yeah this it's like a,wet,yeah it's like a wet fried rice they,have other fried rices here too guys,the la chang style fried rice local,style fried rice,but they're most famous and known for is,the adobo fried rice,oh yeah that fried rice is really good i,tasted a hint of like sweetness and some,spices,i don't really know what goes into adobo,but i can definitely taste that adobo,flavor okay i'm gonna try something like,pork chops in here,so it looks like it's lightly battered,lightly fried this is a very local dish,guys fried pork chops,nice season these aren't heavily,battered you're not gonna get an extreme,crazy crunch,but the flavors are there mix some of,that,onions and mushrooms with the pork ch

hello everyone and i komamai welcome i'm,hazel and i make videos on the local,food scene here on the island of oahu in,hawaii so if you're interested do me a,favor hit like subscribe and the bell to,turn post notifications on that way you,never miss out on any content and for,today's video we'll be grinding in the,ia area so let's get started because i'm,ready to eat,all right guys so for our first spot we,went to 49er restaurant which is located,at 98 110 honomano street aiea hawaii,96701 they're open every day from 7 am,to 6 pm except on sundays when they,close early at 2 pm they opened in 1947,after world war ii and survived the,pandemic can you believe it,we got their ube waffle which was 11.95,and the second thing we got was their,fried salmon with garlic chicken their,fries i'm in is 9.55 but if you want to,add garlic chicken like i did it is 3.95,extra and then the last thing we got was,their chorizo and egg hash which was,12.95,and look at this it comes with two eggs,and some kind of special sauce it looks,really good,all right guys so we're going to start,with the chorizo hash first it has a,really hearty texture the taste is very,reminiscent to taco meat or taco,seasoning,and it's not spicy it looks spicy but,it's not that spicy and the potato is,perfect this honestly tastes like chili,cheese fries just like a different,version of chili cheese fries i'm not,really sure what kind of sauce is,drizzled on top of the chorizo and egg,hash you know why i think it's because,the sauce is so mild compared to the,seasoning that's already in the,traditional hash the next thing we're,going to dig into is this fried salmon,and it looks so good it looks like it,has kama boko which is fish cake spam,green onions and maybe a little bit of,char soup these noodles don't have a lot,of taste so you would have to put like,some black pepper on this so it's a,really good thing that we got the garlic,chicken because the garlic chicken,actually do add some flavor to it still,crispy too all right guys let's dig into,our last dish which was the ube waffle,it smells really really good and it,looks good as well oh this is really,good and this is without syrup the,batter is amazing i like my waffles like,this like a nice crisp to it but nice,and fluffy on the inside this was very,well executed delicious come here come,get this i'm not mad at all that they,called this ube but i don't think it's,ube they put a okinawan sweet potato on,now let's try it with a little bit of,syrup,the waffle is sauce good texture to it,it's sweet but not too sweet it's good i,was thinking it didn't need the syrup,but with the syrup it's amazing 10 out,of 10. this is so good we're going to,finish up eating and then i'll catch you,at the next spot all right guys and for,our second spot we are here at shea,smash burgers which is a food truck,located at 98 291 kamehameha highway,aiea hawaii 96701 they're open monday,through friday from 11am to 4pm and on,saturdays from 12 p.m to 3 30 p.m,so we got the fun guy which is a quarter,pound brisket patty that comes with,caramelized onions cremini mushrooms,havarti cheese bacon jam and black,truffle aioli and it's seven dollars and,then we also got the crazy fries which,are their fries with secret sauce and,that was four dollars so all together,this came out to eleven dollars so i'm,going to start with the fries,so the sauce is like a honey mustard the,fries are perfect they're a little cold,but that's totally our fault after,getting our food we actually wanted to,get soda from 7-eleven and i wanted a,slurpee so they are a little cold,but i can tell that they would have been,nice and crispy had to be eaten them,right away but now let's get into this,fun guy burger do you see this it is,amazing and let me just show you this,bread look how pillowy soft it is and,look at this it is so beautiful it is,such beautiful bread when i touched it i,was amazed because it feels so nice and,fluffy cheers,mmm,wow so this burger it's very nice and,rich and fat and indulgent in the right,way you know the brisket patty is nice,and fatty and then you have that nice,like additional meaty texture from the,creamini mushrooms you taste a hint of,the caramelized onions and it's perfect,gives you just enough sweetness to,balance this whole thing out and the,cheese the havarti cheese is so,creamy it matches perfect with,everything in this burger,because this is a smash burger i do,taste crispy bits of the patty i like,that you guys have to see this look at,this juice,you see that juice right holy this thing,is delicious,these fries have relish on them,interesting,i did get really good secret sauce this,was really easy to eat we were full kind,of but this was really easy to eat and,it's cold too so it must have been,amazing when it was fresh,also i got an ube and jalpia slushie,from 7-eleven,it's good oh my god that burger was,delicious that was our first experience,eating smash burgers and that was,delicious i highly recommend going to

on,that way you never miss out on any,content,for today's video we will be in the pro,pearlridge area so let's get started,shall we,so for our first spot today we are here,at fuki they are a taiwanese restaurant,that also sells bubble tea,they are located at 8919 kamehameha,highway suite,g02 aiea hawaii 96701,they're open tuesday through sunday for,lunch at 11 a.m to 3 p.m and for dinner,at 4 30 p.m to 8 30 p.m,and they're closed on mondays so this,restaurant is highly rated on yelp they,have 4.5 stars which is really really,good and that's exactly why we came here,today so this place is a restaurant but,they also offer takeout there's a little,window to the side of the entrance,if you want to dine in you have to check,in at this window and if you wanted to,order takeout you do so through this,same window,all right let's get started shall we we,decided to eat inside the restaurant,today because it is so hot outside so,why not enjoy the ac right we ordered,the grandpa rolling beef we ordered the,boom boom chicken,and we also ordered lehigh sweet potato,fries let's start with the sweet potato,fries,whoa interesting i kind of like it,that's really good actually the sweet,potato fry is nice and crispy on the,outside,and sweet and nice and tender on the,inside and as you can see it's tossed in,licking powder,i hope you guys can hear that crunch so,it also came with this,chili aioli,okay so i was supposed to try it with,the fry but i had to lick it off my,fingers,it's good,there's a slight chili flavor to it it's,not too spicy at all though it's,actually more sweet sweet creamy and,tangy,i like these where else can you get,sweet potato lean fries right,i never heard of this combo before but,it works these fries are addicting,all right so we also picked up a dish,called grandpa rolling beef and this is,what it looks like on the inside,this is what they're known for one of,their most popular dishes,they also have some sprouts on the side,as well,that was so good so the exterior is nice,and crispy and then the beef flavor is,really nice in there and the sauce the,sauce on top is like,it's poison sauce it's that sauce that,you use in if you've had that sauce,before you know that it's nice and sweet,so this is also a nice balance of salty,and sweet these sprouts also add a nice,touch to it,because it's fried it takes away from,the oiliness,it's like a like it refreshes your mouth,it's kind of like a like an asian,burrito i think that was a good way to,put it,it's kind of like an asian burrito now,for the main event,let's try this boom boom chicken there's,some like crispy stuff on top i'm not,really sure what it is,i don't know but it's good tastes like,seasoning i know this is gonna be crispy,so,holy crispy that's really good,i'm gonna try one without the sauce,that was so good first of all it took us,a while to get all of our shots in,but that chicken is still nice and warm,in the middle,and it's still crispy on the outside,really good seasoning,i feel a little peppery bite in my mouth,it's really really crispy it's like,extraordinarily crispy but the meat,inside,it's not overcooked at all it's so juicy,that's why when i took a bite i was so,surprised,because it's so tender and juicy outside,wow phenomenal,phenomenal i know we just got chicken in,our last video but man we couldn't,resist and i'm so glad we got this,because it's so,good this is also another one of their,most popular items,and i can see why but they also served,it with their chili aioli so i'm gonna,try that out right now,oh god,oh this is good everything we got here,was really good,amazing i'm not gonna lie before i,started this video,i was kind of grumpy because getting,here there was so much traffic like an,unbelievable amount of traffic it's,today's saturday but,for some reason it was just it was just,backed up today so i was a little bit,grumpy,but after eating i feel so much better,do any of you guys feel like,super super bumpy and then you eat and,then you feel better,just me so now that i've tried,everything i want to go back and try,this grandpa,uh rolling beef again,delicious i think my bite was too big,the first time i tried the grandpa,rolling beef,but this time when i tried it i could,actually taste the,the crust or the wrap that they use,outside and it does kind of taste like a,tortilla,it's giving me tortilla vibes let's go,back in for these,sweet potato fries,guys when i start dancing,you know the food's good also this,chicken is so good that there's like all,this,like lettuce underneath it i'm gonna eat,it,that's a dog rub,so as you can see all of the toppings,would fall off of the chicken because it,was,dry we dunked it into the sauce and then,we packed the toppings on top and,because there's sauce on it it's stuck,to the chicken,so if

can't go wrong with this little combo,right,famously right hawaii let's get it,popping,it's so early morning in aiea and pearl,ridge,we are at pro kai we've got curry house,and,kulu sushi over there but in the early,morning,gotta check out okazuya see if it's open,so it just opened,eight o'clock let's go check it out,okay two items to go,no bag gonna eat it now we'll need to,pay the 20 cents for the bag,let's go to the car good morning guys,i'm actually in the,air outside area and it's pretty early i,was gonna head back home towards town,but,traffic so you know how that goes so,what's open this early a few breakfast,spots coffee shops but,japanese boy that i am i had to go check,out the okazuya that opened exactly at,eight,says on the website 7 30 and a few other,places earlier but,that's a little bit off so make sure you,can come at eight o'clock and they're,open and,they got everything good to go and they,can make whatever you need to so the,place i went,is mamaya so mama is right at the pearl,kai center you should know that like,kurukuru and koko curry house right,across on pear ridge and the asd,and if you know where like the liberio,taco truck is and the london malasada,right across there so,one of the things i got it is early but,that poke that i got,looked good so i wanted to get it,and it has that spicy poke on the top,and it has that regular,um look like just shoyu ahi with the,onions and everything,so it's a cone sushi ahi combo and it,has the inari,so let's open it up so you can get a,better look that's the kong sushi,two inaris some poke,regular and spicy,nice little combo and it's about five,dollars so,pretty good can't go wrong with this,little combo right i mean i had to get,it even though it's so early,and the tough thing is because it's,early and it's fish,you gotta eat it now you can't wait,around but come on that's no problem for,me,so you know what time it is in the,parking lot pimping and,let's get it popping okay,oh it is nice and mewy you know me and,my mail but as long as i got that spicy,cake i will be,very happy and has little tobiko um,all that orange little balls and,everything so got the green onion and,you can see,that onion the regular onion the white,onion and let's just get into it,super creamy but i love the crunch of,the onion to change that texture,okay and it does have a little bit of,heat so not bad but oh man look at this,piece,oh boy what part of the fish is that,that's a long poke piece,you got to cut that one up one more bite,so let's get a smaller piece,oh boy all of them might be that it,might be all stuck together,they might have mashed it better check,their knives in there,okay you got to cut them into better,cubes but hey,bigger bite for me maybe maybe it'll,work out oh look at this side better,all that green onion okay,yeah i just wish they cut the poke up a,little bit more poke you never see these,long slabs maybe sashimi and everything,every slabs,so yeah this is it this is the biggest,other slab the rest is all onions flavor,is good,onion crunch is good and this is like a,small little,mini kind of bento thing so i gotta,balance it out now with a bite of this,let's take a look at it let's see,hopefully that outside skin tastes,really good and,the sweetness and then the rice should,be some good rice let's try it out,and you actually have little sesame,seeds with inside of the rice too well,if you,see that so what i like to do i don't,know about you guys but,i like that inaudible you ever had that,spicy naughty bomb you're a dinky or,cooler right over there like you had,that spice,of that and that sweetness of that shell,that agadashi and the sweetness of the,rice too so,this is what i like this bomb and look,half,goes on with the long piece bye,like i bye only thing that fish maybe,because they couldn't cut it it's not,the best,cut of fish but like i said it is a,combo with two cuts and,two varieties so that's the cool thing,about just the fish,quality um i mean if you can't cut off,my your,knife what do you think your teeth can,do,but overall the flavor is good i love,the inaudi and i love the inaudible,spicy bombs,what do you guys like do you guys like,dinky more or he's like,more i have a preference where i like,but it depends on your spice level and,the flavor,pricing is pretty similar i mean depends,but,yep so we got one
