hey everyone welcome back to my channel,my name is kristen and today we're,working on another makeover here at the, lake house you're joining me inside of,our kitchen because we're going to be,transforming this space behind me this,is our dine in kitchen eating space and,i want to turn it into a cozy, comfortable gorgeous breakfast nook, right now we just have a table in chairs, and it's a pretty boring space i haven't,put any effort into it until now and i,can't wait to turn it into a gorgeous, addition to this kitchen so if you're,working on a breakfast nook a dining, room or really any space around your, home i hope this video gives you some, ideas that you can use in your home, before we get started i want to give a,huge thank you to redecor for sponsoring, today's video if you are a you, just to have fun with design i've only, got first place once but i do have some, games where i ranked 9th i ranked 4th,one time i completely lost which is so,sad but redecor is actually allowing you,to design my breakfast nook in the game,so you can share with me your design, ideas so download redecor using the link, down below my description box screenshot, the game and send me your best design,i'm going to be sharing all of my,favorites over on instagram stories i,cannot wait to see what you guys come up,with if you enjoy watching today's,makeover make sure you give it a big, thumbs up and hit that like button and, let's go ahead and jump right into it,i'm kristen interior designer and home, decor expert i'm sharing all of my,designer tips and tricks with you to,help transform your house into the home,of your dreams through diy projects, affordable home decor styling tips and, home organization if i can do it you can, too, let's make our homes look and feel their, best,so we're gonna be changing everything up,in here but not changing anything in the, kitchen so we're totally gonna work with, what we have and embrace it now to be,honest i don't love the look of this, kitchen i don't love the finishes that, were used but instead of going in a,completely different direction for the, other side of the space i'm going to,embrace all of these different colors, and textures and pull them over onto the, other side of the space if we just went,in a complete different direction over, here it just would not balance out and, that's what i feel like this table is,doing it's not the right style it's not,the right color it's not really helping, balance out the space so this table is,definitely going to change these chairs, are absolutely staying i love my,wishbone chairs we definitely need to,just touch them up a little bit under, there these vertical shades are not my,favorite we're probably going to be,changing that up softening out this wall, and making that look really pretty right, now we have this amazing view outside, pulling all the colors from outside and, this side just feels completely white, and bare so this wall definitely needs, some detail some color so we can kind of,balance out the colors from outside over, here we're also gonna be grounding all,the furniture softening out some of,these features and just tying together, this whole space now usually a breakfast, nook is a little corner space and this, room doesn't really call for that but,i'm gonna bring in all the features that,i love about a breakfast nook bench, seating soft pillows a round table a rug,all the little details and i think it's,gonna be amazing, all right so now that the room's all, cleared out we can get painting this, back wall is going to anchor the space,it's going to be the accent wall the, design feature of this entire space and,we're going with a color that we've,actually worked with before i'm going to,be creating a nice little accent wall, using muted sage but i'm dropping the, color of it by 25 so if you really love,a color you can play around with it to,end up with kind of a unique color you,can drop your color really low to be,dark you can lighten it or you could end,up with something just a little slightly, different than the pink chip i think, having this green up on this wall is,totally going to balance out the, greenery that you see outside and really, make this space feel complete i'm going,to come about 64 inches up the wall

HOW TO BUILD a Modern Dining Nook Banquette - Breakfast Nook - Bench Seats

HOW TO BUILD a Modern Dining Nook Banquette - Breakfast Nook - Bench Seats

you guys always remember safety is the, number one priority,hi everyone welcome to our channel, stay tuned we will show you how we built, this bank at,style cd so it's coming right up,after these messages okay guys here's,what our dining room looked like before,we gave it a makeover we had this cute, little corner,in our dining room and we decided to,turn it into a dining nook, twenty first started by removing all the, middle pieces from the board and batten,we actually decided to leave the, baseboards and the middle, pieces of the born batten because it'd,just be easier for us,okay so we're gonna go dig on our uh,recycled wood pile tony's been, collecting for projects,i bought all that wood for a hundred, bucks, some guy who was tearing down a shop or,shed, local home depot we first cut two long, pieces of two by fours to build the, walls for our bench we then cut smaller, pieces that went in between which kind,of made this look like a ladder,we adjusted how far apart we wanted them, smaller pieces and tony used his handy, nail gun to secure all the pieces, together,i'll tell you guys what the nail gun, makes this process so much easier and, faster i think it's way faster than, using screws,i bought this for 60 bucks on craigslist, with nails the nails were worth more, than the gun, really were they yeah it was like a 60,box of nails, and he gave me a nail and a gun for 60,bucks,oh my gosh hon you're not funny right, now,so our banquet seating consisted of two, long, walls for the benches that kind of look, like ladders we stood them up and laid, them out in our dining room, just to see how far away from the wall,we wanted them this would,be the depth of the benches the next, step was securing them to the wall,to secure them to the wall we laid them, against the wall and marked the height,we then attached some two by fours to,the wall right where we had marked it,so i actually didn't think of this, twentieth out of this but we made sure,to attach the two by fours flush with, where, the walls of the bench ended so it would,be super easy to attach the plywood to,the size later on,so if you look close you'll actually, notice of the not,the available on the wall i used a,correct jig and a clamp to make slanted, holes and we used, some screws to secure these pieces, here's what it looked like once all the, pieces weren't in there it was pretty, solid at this point, okay now it was ready for the plywood we,actually used the thinnest plywood,we can find at lowe's and cut it down to,size,to wrap it around the bench we used a,ryobi brad nailer to secure, all of these thin pieces of plywood to,the bench,we hope you guys are enjoying this video, and finding it helpful, let us know down below in the comments, what you guys think we try to make it as,simple as possible,um yeah if we didn't do something right, just don't say anything,we just do it how we know subscribe, subscribe okay so here's how it looks at,this point you'll probably notice, there's,um plugs in there and we actually had,our awesome neighbor come over, and relocate our old plugs for us he's,actually an electrician,so this was awesome okay on to the hard, stuff,i honestly think that building the frame, was the easiest cushions in general just, took so much longer to do there was way, more details, tony first cut some osb board to size, for the cushions we actually got this, osb board donated to us from his dad,and then started by cutting the foam to,size with a serrated knife,i found this work best if you actually, lay the foam onto a rug or something so,it doesn't keep slipping because i tried,it on my kitchen floor and it was just, way too slippery and it gets super messy, and then i used just long strokes to cut,it,if you have an electric carving knife, that definitely gives it a cleaner look,i saw,the lady at joann's do it and she gave,me such clean cuts,i wasn't too worried about getting, rugged cuts because i knew that the, rougher edges would sit against the wall, and it wouldn't be visible,i made sure to cut my foam about half an,inch bigger than the osb, boards all around okay so before we jump, into the details of making these, cushions,i will be adding all the products that i,used in the description section if you, need them,i'll also be sharing everything on the, vlog if you need more info,um photo instructions or plans for the, bench, next was fabric stretching so we,actually had a little debate with tony, about this,i thought that in order for us to,comfortably stretch the fabric, onto these benches we needed to glue the, foam onto the osb board, tony was saying that you could probably,do it without gluing it on and you'll be,just fine,we tried this gorilla heavy duty spray, adhesive first and it actually didn't,work at all this stuff, sucked after like an hour it stopped, being sticky and the foam, fell off so we actually used the loctite, spray adhesive and that stuff,is amazing it comes out all gloppy and, gooey and it's super sticky it feels, like you have tree sap on you so that, stuff definitely sticks,we chose to

EXTREME One-Day Breakfast Nook Makeover

EXTREME One-Day Breakfast Nook Makeover

today I'm going to show you how I took, this Plain Jane, dining room area and turned it into a,gorgeous breakfast nook Oasis in,partnership with the Home Depot come, along with me today and I'll show you, everything he did to transform this, space,to transform this nook I took a picture,of it and all my inspiration pieces and, place them on the computer to research, and then I headed over to homedepot.com,slash decor and checked out their, website style well is one of their main, brands I like to look at very first and, then right off the bat I found this, table and I immediately afterwards found, these pillows and slowly but surely the, design of the room started to come, together at that point I threw in some, screenshots into my design program and, just started playing around I found this, beautiful light fixture these chairs all,on homedepot.com splash decor and slowly, but surely just started pulling, everything together and trying my very, best to create what this space would, look like all together as best I could, before I went for just everything and I,was pretty happy with now this is where, the magic started to happen I recruited,Tanner to paint this back wall black and,I mean the blackest color that I could, find at the Home Depot and even though,it's not completely dry here I love how,it was looking and while he was doing, that I was in our driveway staining the, bench now this is a floating bench that,I created a couple of weeks ago and it,looks so good if you want a tutorial for, that I have a link for it below next I,wanted to replace our light fixture,I loved this, light fixture and not the shades were, like an oblong shape which is more, unique I love the gold finish on this, light picture that I found on Home,Depot's website and I knew that this, light fixture was going to look gorgeous, against this brand-new black wall so I,just went to town with removing the old, light fixture that was installed in our, house when we bought it and started to,install the brand-new light fixture this, particular light fixture has adjustable, arms which is pretty cool because you,can customize it to your space exactly, how you want it by moving arms around, and so if you've never replaced a light, fixture it's very easy and you should, not be intimidated although that's not, what this video is about I'm really, happy with how the light fixture turned, out especially after I was able to,adjust our arms to my preferences I mean, just look at it it's so cute I love the, shades so obsessed with his light once,we put the bench in place this room, really started to feel polished I love, how this warm wood brought out the tones,in the black wall and I wanted to,complement it with something that had, whites and blacks and actually also had, some goals in it to harken back to the, light fixture that we just added with, these gold flecks and of course you, can't have a cozy breakfast nook with,Krauts and pillows so these pillows I,selected from Home Depot and I loved how, they were some more creams and blacks, and I really feel like these pillows, were the perfect balance to bring their, room,we leave together for your courtesy I,have a link to all of the products that,I'm using in the description below there, are a lot of products but I promise you,I've linked every single one of them, including this blanket throw that I,found it's the company store brand and I,have so many textiles this one was, perfect to go in a basket underneath the, breakfast nook in case you needed it I,added two more baskets with another, pillow and one more blanket for extra, coziness next I added the centerpiece I,love this base that I found I'm going to,go and prepare to be shocked because, these plates and bowls this whole date, tableware set is also you guessed it The,Home Depot, they are so pretty I will show you the,close-up and and the silverware as well,is something to throw it is such, beautiful quality these are black, project honesty is very hard to find and,I love how the people drink out with all,of the new table errands of the word, now for a few interior design tips when, using accent metals make sure you have,it in at least three spots so obviously, have the light you see the two frames in,the background and the third place that,I have gold or in the Flex of this rug,I use the same concept on my greenery so,I have my plant for I have the faux, leaves in my vase and I also have a fill,of garbage giving me greenery in three, spots tip number two design in threes I,have three baskets evenly spaced, underneath the bench and this really, helps with the rule of thirds to help, this bench and underneath it look very, balanced tip number three always use, silverware and dinnerware when you are, styling a kitchen table that knife, should go on the right hand side facing, inwards spoons on the outside of that, and forks on the left this space looks,so much better with those things placed,on the table tip number four make sure, your space is functional as well as a,set of food to Zane for me this meant, imagining wha

Breakfast Nook with Under-Seat Storage - How I Built It

Breakfast Nook with Under-Seat Storage - How I Built It

hi i'm mike with house on the mend and,in this video, part one of a two-part series i'm going,to show you how i made, this breakfast nook complete with, cushions and under-seat storage,so let's get going if you break it he,will fix,it if you buy it he will build it,on the man so there's several unique, design, features that i want to point out in the, beginning of this video, that may differentiate it from other, videos you find on youtube at least it,did for me in my initial research, number one the backrest is,angled back at 12 degrees for more, comfort, two the, seat base doesn't go straight down it,angles, back at around 12 degrees and that is to,make it easier to get in and out when, there's a table in place, the entire field is done with rails and, styles, and raised panel all out of cherry wood, and i had to color match it to the, existing kitchen, another feature that's different than, most of the videos,i found was that this breakfast nook is,octagonal in shape,so rather than a 90 degree corner we,have several 22 and a half degree, angles that we have to deal with that, make up that octagonal, shape now this was a very, involved project it starts with,a 2x4 wooden frame plywood, substrate for the backrest and then it's,all clad,in the cherry wood that you see here, this video is going to be more of a,narrative of how i did it,it took a tremendous amount of time and, effort to video, every single aspect of this, build so if you find it helpful will you, please give it a thumbs up and drop me a,comment below, let me know what you would have done, differently or what you think of the, project,i'd really appreciate that so in video, one here we're going to go,through the entire build of the frame, the cherry wood build out,the hinge work for the, bench seats and then in video two,i'm going to show you how i made, these seat cushions and some design, ideas that i,implemented in doing so i first searched, the internet and pinterest for design, ideas,i then measured the existing space and, table that would go into the nook to get,the most comfortable seating height, and distance from the wall here's a,rough sketch of the five-section design,i decided on,i then made a precise storyboard out of,mdf, from which i derived many of the final, dimensions,i purchased kiln-dried 2x4 lumber and, started making the base frame with, pocket hole joinery,i carefully cut out the existing, baseboard so the frame would sit, flush to the wall our breakfast nook is,octagonal so,each frame piece was cut with a 22 and a,half degree angle, then back to the storyboard to make the, angled bench seats, the corners of the nook are rounded so i,notch the back of the frame pieces they, won't show in the final product anyway, there are three outlets in this space, that i didn't want to lose so i ran, romex out to new electrical boxes, since i wanted storage underneath the, benches i cut the seats in two pieces, and installed piano hinges, the back corners of the lid were in,conflict so i cut them back at an angle, much better, next i moved on to the backrest i made, frame pieces, out of three-quarter inch plywood, beveled at 12 degrees, the wings you see coming off the back, are for screwing into the walls,i purchased cherry boards from a,specialty lumber company here in las, vegas since it's not locally available, when it came time to begin milling the, cherry i had planned to use this husky, brand workbench with included router, plate, but as you can see here the plastic top, sagged significantly, and i had to use a floor jack to support, the router, now i love this mobile workbench but the, router table feature,is a joke luckily my wife saw me,struggling with it,and she and the girls bought me this, awesome table top router table from, ryobi for father's day, back in business i milled up the panel, rails and styles with a special mirror, image router bits,i then glued up boards for the panels, once dried and cut to size i began, shaping the raised panel,on the router table i really love the, raised panel look and it matches the, existing kitchen cabinetry, the storyboard is so essential to,visualize, and measure the rails and styles, once both end panels were glued together,i laid out where i wanted the outlets, and traced their outline, this small opening was a great, opportunity to use the three and a half, inch circular saw attachment for my,black decker matrix drill, the cherry is a very hard wood and the, matrix did a great job, plunge cutting into it,sadly the jigsaw attachment is,terrible, even with a new blade it struggled to,cut and burn the wood,i believe the angle is the issue, and that's why i love this rigid jigsaw,i've had for years,it has a selectable blade angle and, finish the cuts flawlessly, figuring out the compound bevels for the, back, rest and toe kick panels made my brain, hurt, somehow a 12 degree incline, and a 22 and a half degree joint worked, out to,5 degrees i don't use sketchup but,if it calculates that compound angle for,you it's worth learning, satisfied with the final measurements i,glued up the panels

DIY Breakfast Nook with Storage | Dining Nook Banquette with Bench Seats

DIY Breakfast Nook with Storage | Dining Nook Banquette with Bench Seats

hi welcome to the woods fans it's,melissa woods in this video i'm going to,be showing you more of my kitchen, renovation the last time you saw me,scrape popcorn ceilings here you're,seeing me clean everything out,as i mentioned before we bought this, house with all the stuff inside so the, kitchen was full and i had to clear, everything away, getting stuff donated you know trashing, what needed to be trashed it was really, really a lot of work, but finally i got all the cabinets clean,i'm going to be taking down the uppers,so the uppers are going to be repurposed,as much as possible and the lowers are, going to stay in the kitchen,so this video is sponsored by work pro,and when they reached out and asked if i,wanted to try their five-in-one,workbench i had no idea how much use i'd,be getting out of this thing it is,incredible and i'm gonna be showing you, throughout this video, what i've used it for since i assembled,it here you'll see i have used it,pretty much every single day in,renovating this house,so with my five in one workbench set up,as the first function which is a mini, scaffolding i was able to stand securely,at the perfect height to start taking, down cabinetry now i've never taken down, cabinetry before i wasn't really sure, what i was doing so i just took it a,piece at a time the area above the, cabinets was really simple to,deconstruct because it wasn't actually a,box and then i was able to figure out,how to get the boxes off the walls all,by myself yay so the new kitchen design, actually doesn't have any uppers since,it's a smaller space i'm going to be,doing some open shelving situation, but i want to repurpose these as much as,possible so the small cabinets the one, above the sink you see me taking down, here the one that was above the stove, and had the vent coming out of it and, then the one that was above the fridge, these three are going to become a,built-in breakfast nook bench on the, other side of the kitchen,it is going to be incredible and when i,first got this idea i felt really good, about saving these cabinets from a,landfill and trying to reuse them, although i will admit they are in pretty, rough shape so i'm going to be doing a,lot of refurbishing and modifying to get, this to work, now i'm not the strongest person, especially when it comes to diy i often, wish i was stronger but taking down, these cabinets they made me feel strong,so the workbench also came in handy, hauling these cabinets out of here, because i transformed it by putting one,of the legs down to create a dolly these, larger wheels i can just put the cabinet, right on there and then roll it away now,the dolly worked pretty slick maybe not,big enough for like doing stairs but it,worked okay how i preferred to use the, rolling mechanism though was with these, casters do you see these, that allow the five in one workbench to,show off its third function which is a,creeper so you could use this like if,you like to do automotive mechanic work, but i used it as a cart of sorts so i,just threw the cabinets right on top of,it since it's this you know rolling, level shelf and then i was able to just, roll them into the other room completely, out of my workspace it was perfect,so this corner where i'm working right, now is where i'm going to build the, breakfast nook bench and it's going to,look so nice next to the window i want,to keep the trim work if possible but,i'm going to be changing pretty much, everything else,so stay tuned,so now i'm going to start the adventure,of,refurbishing these cabinets i took off,all of the hardware all the hinges so,that they're out of the way as i,refinish and then i'm also taking off,the detailed trim work on the front of,every door because i want a more, streamlined look, and i think it will look better as a,bench with nothing protruding out i'm,also going to keep the hardware off so,the doors have a bevel that allow you to,slip your fingers behind and pop them, open, now i'm going to transform my workbench, again by flipping the top to the work, surface this has some helpful measuring, guides and just a flat mdf for me to,work attaching this grid allows me to,transform it into its fourth function, which is a miter saw stand so i've never, had a miter saw stand in fact a lot of,you in the comments tell me that i need,to get my saws off the ground so this is,going to help me a little bit i love, that it can slide side to side so that,if i have a long work piece i can adjust, the stand accordingly,i ripped a few pieces of two by fours in,an effort to build up the height of one,of the cabinets, see two of the cabinets are 17 inches, tall and one was like 14 inches tall so,i needed to lift it up about three, inches so that it would be the same as,the other two and i could make one, continuous height bench, now i did this by attaching a half inch, piece of plywood across the front and i,would glued everything together and, nailed it with a finished nailer, couple tips here for you sprinkle coarse, sawdust in your glue,to prevent your glue up from slid

Have Breakfast before Work,This table looks just like any other square table, but if you look carefully at it,,you will know that it isn't., It has a wide counter with one leg attached to the floor, which gives it a distinctive charm.,Four wooden chairs with unique designs are set around the table to complement it.,It’s not only the meal that drives you to sit on the chair, but also the pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel right being there.,Having breakfast before going to work is an excellent habit you should start to get used to,,although it may be hard at first.,5. Big Party Set,When large seating is required, you can blend chairs and a bench at once.,Since it’s going to take some space, be sure that your kitchen nook can hold that challenge.,It would ruin the layout if the chairs are in the way, so there’s an option you can try.,Choose thin, lightweight chairs that make them easy to be pulled in once you finish using the table.,You can either have colors that blend with the surrounding or a dark hue instead of creating contrast.,4. DIY Bench Nook Idea,If you want a bench with the right size and materials, a DIY one would be your best bet.,It’s because you cut piece by piece to fit the layout, unlike the bought-store one.,It can also be a positive activity that keeps you occupied during the pandemic,,as you might not be able to go outside.,First, measure and cut pieces of wood. Start building the frame of the bench.,Apply plywood to the sides with a drywall gun.,Add supports to the front and back so that it can withstand heavy objects.,Cut storage doors and install hinges.,The rest is to sand and paint the surface with any colors you like.,3. DIY Table Nook Idea ,A table wouldn’t be too much to ask as it doesn’t look as complicated as what you see in the picture.,It wouldn't be likely to require a high-skilled man to do the job.,With little practice, you will be able to make one.,Use two pieces of plywood to start. Screw and glue them together to craft the table counter.,Build the leg by cutting the same 4 sizes and assemble them with screw and glue.,Finish the base and brackets of the table.,The base has to follow the same method as the table counter, but it's in a smaller size.,Attach the wooden brackets on it after it’s matched the leg’s wide.,2. DIY Bar Stools Idea,Bar stools have some benefits due to their size, weight, and they’re quite handy at once. ,They are a

DIY BREAKFAST NOOK || HOW TO MAKE A DINING NOOK || BENCH SEATING TUTORIAL

hey everyone it's jenna welcome back to,my channel in today's video i'm going to,show you guys how we ended up with this, gorgeous dining nook and i'm going to,show you guys how we built it from start,to finish now just keep in mind that, mike and i are first time home buyers, this is our first real you know diy, project that we've taken on so we're,definitely newbies we are not, professionals there's probably a lot of,things that we did wrong but a lot of,you guys have requested this video so i,figured i'd make it just to show you how,we got you know from start to finish and, hopefully you can use this as a guide if,you want to do something similar in your, own home just know not everything is,probably done right like i said we're,new and the learning curve was high so,that is your official disclaimer but, without further ado let's get into the, video okay so this was our home when we,first moved into it and we thought that, creating bench seating in the little, dining room area of our open concept, space would make the whole room feel a,lot more designer and custom and, sometimes the layout of open floor plans, can be a little bit tricky because you, want the spaces to talk to each other, while still standing on their own so in,order to blend the spaces a little bit,we installed some cabinets that just, matched our kitchen so the space didn't,feel too choppy and this gave us a,really great starting off point for our, bench and then we just taped off the, area where we wanted to put the bench so,we could kind of get a better visual of,the measurements and so we could kind of,see it in the space so our first matter,of business was removing the baseboards, where we were going to put the bench so,we did this by scoring the cocked, section with a box cutter and with a,little bit of elbow grease mike popped,it off of there definitely be careful to,watch out for loose nails when doing, this though,we cut the other side of the baseboard, with a multi-tool just because we were, gonna have this side of the bench stop, short of the wall so after removing the, baseboards we went out to the home depot, and just bought a bunch of two by fours, because we wanted these to fit together, really nicely and have some good 90,degree angles mike likes to always, inspect for any warping on the boards, before we purchase them so when we got, home we ran into a problem we realized, that we needed to drop the outlets down, because the bench frame would have, covered the whole outlet at the height, that we were wanting it at and we also, knew that if we ever wanted to sell our, house in the future and we covered the, outlets that it wouldn't be to code and,it would just cause us a lot of future, headaches so we wanted to make sure we,would still have working outlets in this, space so as far as dropping the outlets,i don't feel comfortable using this, video as a resource for that because we,had to consult a professional ourselves, and if you guys are messing with, electric i highly recommend you contact,a professional just for safety purposes, and to ensure everything is done to code,so you won't have any future problems, but in a nutshell we took the existing, outlet and dropped it about six inches,by cutting through the drywall and, reattaching a new box to the existing, stud and then from there we took the, existing wires and attached like colors,to each other using wire nuts and, electrical tape and then we thread them, through this blue conduit so we wouldn't,have any exposed wire in the bench i'll,show you guys how we finish it off later,in the video but you can easily hire a,professional for this and they can do it,for you in a day so once that was all, sorted out it was time to build the, frame of the bench and mike assembled it,by using clamps to stabilize the frame, where he could before screwing in the, pieces for each vertical section that he,was attaching to the frame he would, drill in two holes with a drill bit that, was just wide enough so that the head of,the screws he was using would fit down, the hole and then he just went down the, line securing each section with clamps, just to make sure again that everything, was level and flush with the frame and, then after drilling the two holes he,just used number nine three inch, construction screws which have a really, good bite when you're screwing them in,and hold the frame together really well,so he just did that all around the frame, and for the spacing of the horizontal, pieces where you will be sitting on top,of we didn't want to go more than two, feet apart with the spacing of those, just so it would be really solid sturdy, and secure and everyone's height and, depth is probably going to be a little, bit different depending on your table, height and personal preference but for,our personal cuts we did 16 and a half, inches in depth plus two two by fours on,either side so overall 19 and a half, inches wide and for the height cuts we,cut a bunch of nine and three quarter, inch pieces with two two by fours, attached to them on the top and bott
